Twofer Wishes for Ewe!

Hello Stamplings!

We're ten days in and can no longer ignore the truth ... March is here, for reals! We might as well embrace this next change of seasons and those of us in this part of the world are eager to embrace spring. Except maybe not the time change so much. I do have a hard time adjusting for a few days.

To help accept the reality that spring has sprung, I have chosen the prompt for this month's Twofer Card Challenge. It's SPRING ANIMALS

Here are my cards:
I chose a Paper Smooches lamb/sheep for ewe as my common spring animal.

We are going to see a lot of ๐Ÿฐand ๐Ÿ‘and๐Ÿค in the gallery and that's okay ~ it is the time of year for them! But there are a lot of other animals who have their babies in the spring, so you have a lot of options for your two designs!

Onefer
This birthday card is a simple stitched design using the lamb who was stamped and die cut from fun foam to make him look extra wooly. He is frolicking over the rolling hills created by a die which I'm going to assume is from MFT. Correct me, if I'm wrong. Right now this place is a craftalanche with schtuff everywhere and I can't find it. The sediment is from Altenew.

Twofer
For this design, four rainbow colored sheeps got together on a textured long rectangle card base cut with a blessings word die and Easter stamp from Hero Arts. Normally, these gals are part of a large sheep sleep lab located in a secret facility in Wyoming. (As you can see, they work in the section for people who dream in color.) They won a work-release raffle to appear in this month's TCC and Hammy did a fine job of providing them with their beautiful matching eye makeup!

I'd love to see you join in the fun this month! We have super talented Bobby and Brenda and the whole Team over on the Twofer blog with lots of inspiration for you!!

And finally ... a note from Nellie.
"What's mom doing up there? Is there food?"
~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!* Take care!!
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower! Please let me know you came by so I can be sure and return the flavor!
What a fun and oh so cute woollie sheep, Darnell ... brilliant idea to make her so wonderfully texture-y and woollier with the craft foam ... she's so happy frolicking in her hilly meadow! Those work-release sheep are having a fine time practicing their synchronised leaping ... it's so important to have the right make up for such an occasion ... and theirs is so becoming ... Hammy did an awesome job helping their eyes to pop! LYAMYEDMA! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
Hi Darnell, I am so hoping sprijng brings dry warm weather, as this cold wet weather is playing havoc with my Arthritis and Fibromyalgia.
Love both the cards.
Hope Nellie got a little treat. Hugs Sue
Two super fun cards Darnell..like the idea of a fun foam sheep. Spring has sprung here flower wise but not weather wise though we seem to be full of gusty wind here in West Yorkshire..and it's not from the cows!..lol xx
Darnell, I'm gonna have to borrow these sweet sheep the next time I roll into vampire hours. Your birthday card is full of bounce and fun. I am just loving those made up eyes on your rainbow sheep for Easter, Hammy had a brilliant idea there. So glad you let him loose. Fabulous towfers.
Your sheep are so cute Darnell, and the first frolicking ewe looks great against the striped paper and the pretty stitched cloud shaped bottom section, and the beautiful blue is a wonderful backdrop to your four differently coloured funky foam sheep and they make a super Easter card. I love Nellie's questioning expression and I think food is never far from a dog's thoughts..lol. Hope the Mister is continuing to improve. x
Both your cards are so fun! Loving the wooly look of the first one, great idea to use fun foam, and love the crew with googly eyes in matching colors.
Brenda in IN said...
Foam lambs are my favorite but the wool just isn't the same. I can see why the brightly colored lambs are celebrating their release for the day and having such a good time. I love what Hammy did with their eyes. I'm glad to see Nellie taking an interest in stamping. Soon she will be helping just like Hammy does. Speaking of sleep labs, just saying. Thanks for the opportunity to be a guest designer. I loved this prompt and can't wait to see all the fun cards in Twofer.
Oh Darnell...the way your mind works just cracks me up!! A sheep sleep lab?? Bahahaha!!! But anyway, two really CUTE cards with that fun and sweet sheep image! Love how you stamped and die cut the one from fun foam...have to remember that! And the colorful sheep card with the beautiful eye makeup (NICE job Hammy!!) is sure to bring a smile to whoever receives this card! Your first card with the fun foam is fabulous, wooly indeed LOL. As for your colourful work-release sheep, their eyes are just wonderful I'll have to see if any of them have travelled further than they should and arrived amongst the 1000's on the Welsh hillsides?
Thanks for your lovely visit and wishes, much appreciated mwah!
Two adorable ewe cards! They make me feel happy! We have two sheep at the horse barn and one of them just gave birth to two lambs - they are beyond sweet!
Your two ewe cards are so adorable Dolly! Made me smile ... and I could use that right now! I have looked through my stamps and no spring animals, what??!! I have a bag of stamps to donate and my next thing is to go through them and see if there's something I can use to play along! Have a great day ... and Mister too!! Love, Lolly
Mac Mable said...
What a fun and woolly lamb and boy do they all look so happy x. Both cards are fabulous and I am so glad the gals from the sheep sleep lab won a work release day....And turned out in their best and beautiful matching eye makeup x.
I hope you fed Nellie?!!! x.
You're a riot, Darnell! I love your darling sheep and how you stamped them in a rainbow of colors on your 2nd card...so CUTE! Hammy has also done a fine job with their eye makeup! Thanks, as always, for inspiring me to play along...Twofer is one of my all-time favorite challenges :) Also, thanks for sharing a photo of Nellie...she is too sweet! Hugs, Barb xx
You are SO good at coining apt phrases Darnell and Craftalanche resonates with me! Since my crafting is done in our living room, it cannot stay that way sadly so I'd better stop wandering about in Blogland and go and see if I can find the sofas! Your lambs are adorable. The goofy one that is wishing big doesn't look entirely confident but I'm sure he'll get there; the rainbow gals are a different story! I suspect they are thrilled to be performing in their bright woolly outfits - and with matching eye make up? But of course!!!
OMG, those girly googly eyes! Ack!! I love how your sheep are all made up in pretty colors. I noticed the extra wooliness of your first sheep right away. Paper Smooches has such cute and fun stamps! I'm putting my thinking cap on for this challenge. Sweetest of all is the pic of Nellie peeking up. Such a precious face there.
Such sweet curly sheep that look like they've been to the beauty shop for perm and color! What a great idea to stamp on foam for a fuzzy look!
Cheryl W. said...
Your ewes look quite fancy in their rainbow-colored wooly outfits. I guess they're ready for the Easter parade, sans the bonnets. Your birthday lamb is definitely reaching new heights with his frolicking. Guess he's excited about the birthday party. Two cute cards. Hope I'm able to join in the fun.
Fun from ewe to us! Lovely cards, Darnell, and well... spring-like :o)
Spring cannot come soon enough over here, we have had such horrendous rain for what seems like the last two seasons!! Saying that, the sun is out today so we live in hope!! I love those curly lambs, they very much remind me of the "goat herd" goats from the Sound of Music!! Great cards as always xx
Guess, what do I like most? Matching eye makeup made by Hammy. Thank you to make me smile with your description. :-) You have created two fresh and funny spring cards with a cute little sheep. For sure I'm motivated enough to join the challenge. :-)
Wool that's one fluffy sheep! I love your craft foam idea, Darnell, and I wouldn't mind counting that one as I drift off to sleep on those striped sheets. Your rainbow sheep, however, are keeping me wide awake with laughter! I love those eyes complete with eye lashes - too funny! A wonderful twofer!
Oh my goodness, Darnell. The google eyes and eyelashes on the rainbow sheep are a riot. What a great idea to use fun foam on the single sheep. I'm sure it adds great texture.
Your posts always make me smile! That sheep image is adorable, and I love how you used it on both cards. (My family can definitely relate to Nellie; once I get going, I often lose track of time and the meal schedule is often much later than originally planned!!)
Reading your posts I burst with laughter: -)) You can turn every situation into volleys of laughter. These elegant ladies with Hammy makeup are amazing :-)))
Carol L said...
Can I just come right out with it and say I love ewe?! LOL Thanks for another fun twofer - I'm so glad I found time to play along this month. Your twofer cards just put ewe in the spotlight for being a great card maker and story teller :) The eyes really trick ewe with the heavy eyelids, but the eyes on Nellie are definitely focused on what dogs love most - snacks! So cute! Hope you are holding up well in this chaotic situation we've been thrust into. We're OK here in PA, going out only when necessary! Stay well!
