Going 'Round in Circles

Hello Stamplings!

I'm dashing in quick to get this posted because it's going to be a windwhirler of a day. I noticed one of my favorite challenges is celebrating their 500th challenge and I didn't want to miss that milestone event! It's Just Us Girls (JUGS) and the brief is Trend Week (circles). Here is my card:
I made this circle patterned paper a few years ago when I was taking an online course and I never made it into a card. Below is a photo of the store-bought paper on the left and my handmade panel made into the completed card on the right using various circle stamps I have.

Here is the challenge photo inspiration:
I swear these inanimate crafty objects have a mind of their own sometimes and they speak to us when the perfect occasion finally arises for them to be made into card art! At least, that's what Hammy says and I figure if a hamster can talk, then why can't paper?

Congratulations and thank you to everyone at JUGS for all the hard work involved in putting 500 challenges together for us! Putting together 300, 400, or 500 challenges just bobbles my mind!

~~~
What did the triangle say to the circle? You're life is pointless.
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower! Please let me know you came by so I can be sure and return the flavor!
Hmmm - I am circular in form, so does that mean my life is pointless???
Loving you card Darnell, and I prefer your card to the paper that you were inspired by.
Hammy is a wonderful crafty companion for you, and has great gems of wisdom tucked away there... :)
Blessings
I get up early. I go through my craft blogs, while I have my morning coffee. Nothing like a great idea, to think about, throughout the day. I was so happy to see your circle paper, (great look), but, to have a laugh too! Thanks for making my day start off right. Have a great day, yourself!
Laughing-ly (?),
Your paper is more vibrant than the store bought and the card is fabulous with the colors and great sentiment. I have become a bit round myself, should I be worried?
Bobby said...
Your interpretation of the printed paper is spot on, Darnell. Pun intended. ;) The sentiment is so true and I count you among them. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls.
Brilliant this is!! I love spots and dots and to have them in pink and green is a bonus, what a lovely fun sentiment too xx
These colorful circles may be pointless but they sure make an impact! Great sentiment too! So true.
Your pp is much more fun and vibrant than the actual pp. And what a perfect card for the challenge...500, phew! Happy colors always make for an amazing backgroun and it's wonderful when you find the ideal challenge to enter with them. Besides, who doesn't love circles?
What a fabulous card Darnell and you are so right- you were obviously meant to keep the paper for this particular challenge! Love those bright and cheery colours and how you added enamel dots in just the perfect colours! Hope you are enjoying your busy summer and spending time with family and friends.
Very cool card Auntie and I love that you made your own "pattern" paper, you can't tell the difference from the real deal to yours. Love it! Crafty friends really are the best. Hugs, Brenda
A Beautiful and vibrant card with a fab sentiment, do I say thank you? Love your take on the circles, in fact I think I prefer the whiter background.
I HAD to look for a circle joke and found this - Why are circles hot? - because they're 360 degrees!
How stunning, fabulous design, I especially like the green circles, looks like they are glittery?
All of those polka dotty circles you stamped make me happy! CUTE card Darnell!
Your circle-pattern looks perfect! Before reading your post, I thought it was store-bought DSP. And I actually like it better than the store-bought stuff you compared it to. If Hammy ever wants a little vacay in Minnesota, tell him I've got an extra room--as long as he's willing to serve as a craft advisor while he's here.
You cannot beat a boat load of colourful circles and a CAS sentiment strip! I love this card and I LOVE that you held onto this panel for yonks and then it made it into a card. It's why I don't like to through my scraps (aka art haha) away, you just never know. Beautiful card Darnell, hope you enjoyed your windwhirler of a day xx
Loving that handmade circle panel Darnell and of course it was just waiting for the right moment to be made into this beautiful card. I always think of designer paper as being like the toys in Toy Story. They have rich lives in their cupboard and then, when I open the door... nothing! x
