Fall Thanks

Hi there!

I meant to welcome you to a brand new week yesterday, but Sir Comstanzes kept that from happening. You know him, right? He can be so captivating!

Today is Election Day in America and we are all thrilled that it is finally here! No matter which candidate people supported in this election, we are ready to get back to being a CIVILized society. Yippie!!

I'm so thankful, I made a gratitude card:
I received this beautiful metal leaf (and others) from my friend Milka and I think it works so well beribboned in plaid and gold on a warm fall card of thanks. The sediment is from Your Next Stamp. The tag is from Poppystamp's "Stitched Main Street" tags, heat-embossed in blue moire powder.
Challenges
Thanksgiving Is a Thing

I'm also going to link to the uber-talented Susan Raihala's Thanksgiving Crusade 2016 page. Here is the information, in Susan's own words:
The Thanksgiving Crusade is one woman's attempt to save Thanksgiving from the huge commercial shadow cast by Halloween and Christmas. I'm tilting at windmills here, but dag-nab it! Thanksgiving is an awesome holiday that deserves more attention. ...
The only rule for my Thanksgiving Crusade is that you make and send cards of thanks. You may thank the people closest to you, or you may choose to thank people whom you haven't seen in years or you may thank someone who doesn't know you at all. Doesn't matter. Let's just take this as a perfect opportunity to thank someone.
Please consider joining us for the Thanksgiving Crusade even if you're not Canadian or American ~ thanksgiving knows no national boundaries.
Show gratitude. Give thanks. Save Thanksgiving.
My card is for our neighbor who unexpectedly changed our dinner plans for the better by offering us one of the large trout he had just caught that afternoon! It was delicious!

And thank you for your crusade, Susan!

Weekend Collage

We had a wonderful four days with the grandtwins and granddogs, although I was a bit overwhelmed by all the testosterone! I sympathize with my sweet DIL!! Here is a picture collage for you:

As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower! Please let me know you came by so I can be sure and return the flavor!

Beautiful card, and gorgeous photos of your outing. I'm sure you will be relieved when the election is over, but I rather fear that whatever the outcome, you'll all be left feeling as dazed and bewildered as we over here have been since the Brexit vote. Months later we're all still shuffling around and thinking, "Well.... NOW what?" - whichever way we voted!

I love your card, the plaid ribbon is fab! Yes I am heartily sick of all the political adds etc. Living near DC we rarely have a year in which there is no election either in VA, MD, or DE. It's constant, and I will be so glad when it is over.

YOur collage is wonderful, I bet it was great weekend.

You beat me to it Darnell, but thank you for my morning chuckle! Love the pics of the grandtwins too...when did they grow up?!!! I'm kinda liking my granddaughter Addy's age right now...she's 2 and her big thing the last few days is yelling "Too late!!" to the dogs! Crazy kid...gotta love her!! Have a great day Darnell!! :0)

Hello darling. Just wanted to pop in and tell you how much I like your pretty thank you card. That leaf itself is gorgeous, but against that orange background, it is just stunning. Really and truly. And the bit of ribbon... I had that same plaid, and loved it to the very end of the spool! So pretty! Looks like you had a great time with all the fellas, but I'll be you're pretty, kinda tired from all the excitement! You'll have to tell me all about it when we chat, when you're all recovered! Missing you like crazy. xoxo Bev

Hrumph! Going back to being CIVILized. Speak for yourself, Missy. I plan to be uncivilized and bohemian as long as possible. Cool card. I thought that leaf looked quite metallica and wondered the secret. The secret of course, is to use metal! ha!

I am so glad that the election is over too!!! Got so I only watched the Hallmark Channels because of all the political adds on tv. What a beautiful card Auntie! I love the metal leaf you used and that pretty orange background. The ribbon on the leaf adds so much color to this card-it's just gorgeous! Oh how I hate that Thanksgiving is always passed over. Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday and one that needs more recognition that it gets. I will have to check out the Thanksgiving Crusade and see if I can play along. I love the idea! And speaking of love, OMGosh, what wonderful pics of the twins and the dogs!!! Were does the time go?! The boys look so grown up and the dogs-how beautiful they are! I feel for your DIL too because I know all to well what it was like living with 7 guys and a boy dog too! It's not easy being the only woman in the house let me tell you. lol I have to say though, it looks like the twins and dogs are well behaved. As were my guys, so that is something many will appreciate! Hugs, Brenda
