April Fool's Day Boo Boo Hop!

Hello!

Welcome to the First Annual April Fool's Day Boo Boo Hop! For one 24-hour period every year, you will have a place to post one of your oopsie-boopsies and today is the day for 2016!
Perhaps this first year will be trial and error. At worst, the hop itself will be a flop and this will be the first and last one! You never know if something will work until you try it, right?!

In your comments since my first mention of this Big Fat Card Boo Boo Hop a couple of weeks ago, most of you admitted to being too vain to take photos of your boo boo cards and that you either recycled them or fixed them. In truth, I'm usually the same way, but this last boo boo of mine ...
... As a reminder, what happened was I made a card for Easter. A perfectly nice card. I took my normal photos and it wasn't until I saw it on the monitor that I realized something was a rye.
And in a pretty funny and potentially embarrassing way.
When Hammy saw it, he gave me a sidelong glance. Like in the movies. The Mister had the same reaction, only he added an arched eyebrow. So I didn't post it.
Until now:
It's a pretty card, right? Beautiful paper. Beautiful alcohol ink blending on that glossy paper used for the beautiful die-cut word love. Beautiful sediment. Beautiful bunny family.

And theeeenn you find yourself cocking your head just slightly to the side and gasping, "Doesn't it look like those bunnies are doing what bunnies are famous for doing?!"

Gulp! I didn't mean for it to look that way! I thought I was being artful with my placement of bunnies amongst the love letters!

So that's what happened and that's how this Big Fat Boo Boo Hop idea was born! I hope you find it amusing and not offensive. They are, after all, bunnies!

And they were just too cute and the card too pretty and shiny to toss in the recycle bin, so I fixed it.
I even gave the baby a little cotton-tail. No one would have been the wiser if I weren't in the middle of enjoying my second childhood with no filters!

~~~
Now then. Anyone else have Big Fat Card Boo Boo to share? It doesn't have to be Risk Kay, just along the lines of, "Well, would you look at that? I didn't mean for that to happen!"
The Deets
  • The Hop linky button below will be open for 24-hours: from 12:05 a.m. PDT April 1 to 12:05 a.m. PDT April 2.
  • The Hop is open world-wide.
  • Only one card boo boo entry per person, please, and you must be a follower.
  • If you don't have a photo of your Big Fat Card Boo Boo, but you do have a funny story about one, link any card and tell us all about your boo boo so we can draw a mental picture of it.
  • While not strictly reinforced, the idea of a Hop (as opposed to a Challenge) is that we make every effort to HoP through the gallery and leave the other Hoppers some love!
  • There is a Big Fat Boo Boo Prize! The winner will receive a $50 gift card to any US company of the winner's choiceHammy will choose a winner and I will post the winner's name on Sunday, April 3.
I can't wait to see what you enter! I hope, above all, that we enjoy a few laughs and congratulate each other for being good sports about our Big Fat Card Boo Boos!
Oh, before you go hopping, this isn't the only fun hop happening in Blogland today! I noticed last week on my friend Nora's blog that she is hosting a "Creative Fools" blog hop over at Stamping Smiles Designs! If you know of other hops happening in honor of this day, let me know and I'll edit this post to include them.
Enjoy your April Fool's Day! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*
Haha! I can think of one or two people I would totally send the first version of your card to. I am glad I caught you, today's a Big Day for us and if you'd posted half an hour later I'd have missed my chance to join in. I had my post all written and scheduled but I thought I wasn't going to get chance to link up
What a brilliant card, I have to admit I probably would have sent as is just to see if they even looked at my card. Certainly got me chuckling, will have to have a look and see if I can find anything. Will be fun to see what people add, your brilliant Darnell.
This is one hilarious make, Darnell. Well, it did take me a few minutes to figure out what the 'boo boo' was, but I did and can't stop giggling since. Very clever way to correct it and your card looks fantastic. I'm eagerly looking forward to all the entries here and I'm already sure this hop is going to be super fun. :)
Your original card idea was hilarious! I probably wouldn't have noticed that the bunnies were doing what they do either unless someone pointed that out to me! I find it funny how so many eyes can see something and yet never notice the obvious! Thanks for a fun hop on April Fool's day! I'm looking forward to those boo boos shared today!
Oh Darnell, you do make me laugh and that card had me creased up! I wish mine was as funny, but my boo boo card was just a catalogue of disasters, but it did make me laugh after the event, it reminded me of one of the old fashioned British farces that we were so fond of! Off to laugh at everyone else's now! Happy April Fool's Day! Hazel xx
Hahahahahah! This is the best boo boo I've ever seen! I usually destroy my boo boos or they end up cut up and made into other cards. I'll keep more of them for next year! Xx
I didn't think I had anything to contribute until earlier in the week I made a boo boo :) I'll be back tomorrow to see all the entries - I"m sure there are some great stories to be told.
Haha!!! You have made me laught so much with your boo boo and your words :D :D
So hilarious!
Veerle said...
OMGosh Darnell, I immediately saw it and had such a hard and good laugh about it. It's just so hilarius. Suppose you had given this to a child whithout noticing. But it's true that's wg-hat bunny's are famous for. Once I took kids to a baby farm and there were bunny's too doing what they always do and the little boy said look aunty that big bunny is scratching the small bunny's bud.
No need for further explanation he figured it all out by himself LOL.
Hugs, Veerle xx
OMG! That card is great! And I'm sure glad you were able to "fix" it! LOL! Wish I had one to post, but I haven't had a lot of time of late, thus I haven't made any MAJOR booboos but I'm enjoying everyone else's sense of humor to post theirs!
Great card! But reading these comments is equally humorous! I did notice your bunnies. But then, in our neighborhood, someone regularly repositions the neighbor's front yard Christmas deer in a similar fashion. Love the idea for this hop. Wish I had a picture of the beautiful gift bag I made, only to realize upon completion that it was defective and only had 1 handle instead of 2. Thanks for the fun idea.
Happy April Fool's Day.
I LOL as soon as I saw it! Too funny and a great boo boo. I had way too many post due all in the last 3 days , so not sure I will be able to play, sorry. It should be lots of fun though!
Cat Craig said...
Holy humping...lol got my good laugh in as soon as I saw it. Too funny and thanks for being so brave or is that brash to show us all your little Freudian slip. What a classic, I think I love you even more now than I did before. I either fix the boo boos or and oblivious to them...so sadly no post. But I will hop around to others.
Cat Craig said...
P.S. Had to show the card to hubs...sadly it took him 15 seconds longer than me to burst out laughing.
Verna Angerhofer said...
What a funny boo boo. I so enjoyed your card and got a good chuckle. And, to be honest until you pointed it out it never occurred to me. LOL I did enter my boo boo but I am thinking I did it all wrong. If so, just take me out of the competition. I just linked up an old post of mine which had been edited to show an explanation of the boo boo.
Pat said...
I love your rabbits and I didn't notice anything amiss at first glance, but then you said about rabbits doing what they do best and I had to laugh. You made a great job of changing it as it isn't always that easy to do without wrecking something along the way. I don't have any specific booboos at the moment but I am going to make a card this evening so you never know.
p.s. that makes me sound like little miss perfectionist which I am not, but I usually change things or else it goes in the bin without being photographed. x
Tracey McNeely said...
ROFLMAO!!! Darnell your card has totally made my day! Thank you so much for sharing. Yes I tend to just recycle my boobs--lol! Maybe I will just take a photo of my recycle bin for your challenge. This is a fun challenge!
HA HA! You are a riot, Darnell! I must admit, when I stopped by earlier, I didn't read your post and thought you may have covered up some ink or glue spot on this sweet card! :)
MRS DUCK said...
Hi Darnell
Hilarious and makes me wonder what was rattling around in your subconscious when you popped the glue on this one lol!
Funny thing is, the revamped version still looks a little risqué...... a bunnage è trois? Lol!
Happy April Fool.
Ps....I think we're going to have a laugh on your visit.x
Princess Judy Palmer said...
I think what really brings out the "OMG" factor to your card is that smaller bunny to the right with shocked expression on his face. Now that you've turned it into bunny orgy all is well with the world.
Well confession time! I looked and I looked and I looked at your card and couldn't find one thing wrong with it. So I read, and then I busted out laughing! Now mind you I hadn't notice this until after I read what the boo boo was. Maybe I was looking to hard because of the this challenge and maybe I would have noticed it without this challenge having me looking for boo boo's and maybe I would have never realized it. Hard to say, but I do love the addition of the other bunny on the card. Now for the Mister, don't men all noticed these kinds of things?!!! lol Thanks for a good chuckle Auntie, I truly need that chuckle! Hugs, Brenda
I can't see anything wrong with your first card, except that perhaps kids shouldn't be watching, but those are bunnies, for goodness sakes...but then you turned it into a threesome, tsk, tsk, tsk .... Ooh Darnell, that is hilarious! I noticed the boo boo straight away which shows how my mind works! It's a lovely card, glad you could fix it! I can't join in as have nothing to show. Hopefully next year though! I will make sure I save any boo boos! Wishing great success for this fab challenge! xxx
That sound you just heard was me, spitting out coffee all over my computer desk and stack of bills to pay...OH MY GOODNESS! Having owned more bunnies than you can shake a cottontail at over the years, I am very familiar with this particular bunny posture (even though I had all of my rabbits neutered). I can't say that I have a card boo that rivals this one, but I've had plenty over the years. Most of them consisted of spending time meticulously coloring, fussy cutting, and gluing...only to find that I mounted the card image upside down. I have also been known to carefully follow all the specifications in a challenge, only to forget to add the most important element or image. Most of the time I've noticed the problem before photographing it and so I fixed it. However, here is one that did slip by some time ago. My biggest boo boo, however, is one that I don't have a photo for, because I re-did it but it was a doozy. I made a whole 12x12 scrapbook album for my Mom of a vacation in Hawaii that she treated us all to in 2004. Each photo was captioned and matted, and the pages were carefully planned and embellished. It took me a month to make and it was to be a birthday present for her. And then the big boo boo. I decided to trim just a little bit more off of a photo, and carelessly used my Exacto knife on top of a completed layout as my cutting base (yikes!). In one fell swoop, there went my hubby's head...sigh. I ended up carefully lining up the cut edges and adhering it from the back...so you hardly notice. My mom has since passed away and I am now the proud owner of that album...and I think about this every single time I see it! So, in the meantime, here is a link to my not-as-bad card boo boo. Thanks for a laugh and funny story Darnell! Happy April 1st!
This is such a fun idea, Darnell. I just ran out of time to get something together to post on your blog. Too much going on in my life right now, I guess. I hope you hold another next year. I plan on holding onto photos of my next boo boo (they come along regularly) to have at the ready!
I died laughing at your frisky bunnies, Darnell! We have a couple of Christmas reindeers that a neighbor rearranged into a similar position years ago. Funny thing is it took us about 5 days to notice :) Thankfully the kids were far too young to understand why we laughed until the tears were streaming when we finally saw what was going on.
I promise to photograph some mistakes next year in anticipation of the Second Annual April Fool's Day My Big Fat Card Boo Boo Hop!
Your bunnies are too cute and too funny, Darnell! I've linked up a card that I made just today with an inadvertent and minor boo-boo. I have a better one, but it's for an upcoming DT challenge, so I'll wait until then to point out the boo-boo. Thanks for putting this together for us.
