Big Fat Card Boo Boo Hop Winners and a Card

Hello there!

I hope this finds you all enjoying a Sunday Funday!

How was April Fool's Day for you? Did you pull any spanks? Did you have any pulled on you?

I was hilariously enjoying my Big Fat Card Boo Boo Hop Friday when I suddenly got the "Blue Screen of Death" on the PC. I had to wait several hours for the Mister to get home from work and slip into his IT uniform. We were hoping against hope that it was just an April Fool's joke, but alack and aack, it was not. For a hefty fee, Microsoft happily spent the next several hours evicting rat bastards from where they were infesting the bowels of our computer.

And, hey, Hal A. Lula, I am back in bizness with a new Fire Wall around me so the eviltarians better not even think about climbing in here again. That's right, I said FIRE wall! Don't you just love how scary that sounds? Sadly, we thought we already had a good one, so I guess it doesn't sound that scary to everybody. OTOH, after decades with a home PC, it's our first time being ghacked, so that's not too bad.

Okay, well, that's not why you called! Let's talk about the Hop!

Me and Hammy et al. resoundedly declare it a success! Thinking there might only be 3 partypants, I am very pleased that there were 36! That's tremendous considering you only had two weeks' notice and you weren't for sure what I was looking for! I know there were several more of you who planned to play, so I think I will do it again next year and keep the logo on my side bar to remind you. I hope when you make an April Foolish boo boo throughout the year, you will think of me (wait ~ what?!) and stop to take a picture so you can join in next year!

After a bit of fur-flying, the furballs reached a consensus on the winning entry. Actually, that's a lie. They never stopped laughing long enough to even talk about a winner, so Hammy the Elder made the decision. It is with great pleasure that I announce the winner of a $50 gift card is:

It was a very tough call! Well done, Lorraine, and thank you for joining in the fun!

As a matter of fact, it was so hard choosing just one that I'm awarding a surprise second gift card of $25! This entry was a story, rather than a card (which was acceptable), so well done and thank you to:

Ladies, I'll be in touch!

I have had many emails both from folks who played in the Hop and from those who didn't saying how much they enjoyed this little hooteninny! We laughed until tears ran down our legs! We comscissorated with each other and felt a crafty connection as we discovered that we are not alone when it comes to making bloopers and blunders! I want to thank ALL of you who played for taking the time to do so, for being supportive, and for being incredibly good sports about your boobs, sorry, boo boos!!

If you didn't get a chance to hop around the gallery yet, I highly recommend it! You might even want to bookmark the post and refer to it any time you "can't get it right" or you're just feeling blue!

~~~
Speaking of boo boos, I made this card especially for today:
Hold up! Don't go craning your neck looking for a boo boo, because you won't find one! Or at least I don't think you will find one!
I said "speaking of boo boos" because I made this card using a boo boo that I rescued from my fellow BABE Geri when we were at our stamping adventure in October 2014. Bless her, Geri became so flusterated with this sweet little vase and bouquet that she threw it in the recycle trash and started over. Well, no fool me, I ran waddled around the table and took it out because I couldn't find any boo boo. I declared that I would take it home and make a card out of it.
I don't think she believed me.
Well, it took awhile, but this is my year of cleansing the BOB box and when I saw Geri's discard in the box a few days ago, I thought it would make a perfect ending for the Big Fat Card Boo Boo Hop! I still can't find anything wrong with her fun vase and flowers, so I simply added it to a linen panel, matted it with pp from PTI and attached it to the base. The sediment is from "Year Round Puns" by PTI. Thank you Geri for making this beautiful focus pocus for me to use on this QACAS birthday card all these months later!
~~~

Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*

As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower! Please let me know you came by, so I can be sure and return the flavor!

Hey, quick question: anybody have their followers gadget disappear in the last few days? I don't mean just a few followers, but the whole gadget? Blogger did this once before a long while back, but the gadget came back in a coupla days. I'm not sure if that is what's happening again or if it has to do with my computer purge ... thank you for any intel you have about this!

Thanks for the blog hop, it was great fun - I only started commenting last night because we've been away, but I'm loving the entries - one woman's booboo is another's work of art, as you've demonstrated so perfectly with your lovely card.
Well done to the winners, and thanks for saying you will do another next year, now any c*ck ups won't feel like a waste of materials, they'll just be fodder for next year's hop

A lovely card Darnell and I can't see anything wrong with the vase of flowers either! It's been great to see the boo-boos and read the stories behind them. I didn't have anything to share this year, but will take photos of blunders to join in the fun next year.

Thanks for hosting this hop, Darnell! I haven't managed to visit everyone in the list yet, but I've been enjoying what I've read and seen so far. It's so good to see that we all goof up sometimes, and it's surprising how often we all make the same mistakes. Maybe someone should write a guide on mistakes to avoid...
Congrats to both winners. Their posts were definitely the funniest I've seen so far.

Am catching up on the posts, but I have had such a good laugh so far. Such a brilliant idea and I will definitely keep any boo boos I make for next year's hop. It's such a relief sometimes to see fellow crafters make the same mistakes as I do - it makes it real and reminds me that everyone has off days! Xx

Hi Darnell, Love the card.

I still have my Followers, but Blogger does seem to be messing about with things.

Hope you have a lovely day. Sue

So glad your hop was an hysterical success Darnell - and that Hammy and family enjoyed it too :-).
My Mister is still in the local hospital and making progress slowly so you won't see much of me online over the next few days.

It really was a LOT of fun Darnell, it was my first ever hop ... AND I managed to get around and comment on every single entry!! I didn't think I could manage it - especially as you usually have 100's of entries - but it helped with it being only 24 hours and only one entry each - much more manageable (I don't know how you do it when you have all those entries for your NBUS challenges!) Thank you very much for the fun, many congratulations to the lucky winners, and I can't wait for next year, I know my difficulty will be in choosing which one to use! ;) BTW, I can't see anything wrong with that cute vase of flowers either (but then this hop has confirmed, I am not the most observant person in the world/room!) Have a lovely Sunday! Hazel xx

Beautiful card, love that you rescued that vase of flowers. Had a great time on the hop and yes it was so nice to see so many others had those same errors we have. It becalms the heart it does.

This is the only blog hop where I have clicked through to read about each and every entry. So. Much. Fun. Thank you, Darnell! Nice save on your card today, BTW.

Loved the challenge and enjoyed, immensely, visiting every entry on the hop! Laughter galore! Great to know that we have a big ol' family of crafty booby-sisters! Super congratulations to the winners! As for your Geri-created and you-rescued vase of flowers: good eye, my friend! I agree: no boo-boos whatsoever...just floral fabulousness!

This was so much fun to read about the boo boos people made or thought they made. The card you posted today is lovely and I'm with you and others who can't find anything wrong with it. Thanks for a fun April Fool's challenge. Have a great day!

Firstly congratulations on the successful blog hop. I dipped in and read all the funny entrants and I could relate to most of them! Like a lot of us who make boo boo's I cover them up or bin them but I will now take a photo first to use next year x Secondly thank you so much for popping by my blog to say congratulations for a recent shout out, really very much appreciated. Thirdly I have just joined your blog and I have often read your blog and really do enjoy it...such fun. Gorgeous colourful card today, thank you for sharing x

Yay, Darnell, so pleased you weren't the only one with your boobsboos on display ... congratulations on such a brilliant and fun hop ... and congratulations to the winners! Thought there was something familiar as soon as I saw your delightful card ... couldn't have told you what it was but I'm so glad you explained where that sweet vase of flowers came from ... it would've bugged me forever if not!! Wishing you a bon dimanche, ma chere amie! Hugs & bisous, Anita :)

What fun this was Darnell. I did enjoy it a lot. And, that was a good choice with picking Lorraine's card. I had to chuckle at that one a lot as well. And, also loved the story from your second winner as well. Now I will try to remember and document a few of my boo boos from now on.

Well your Boo Boo Hop was certainly fun Darnell! Thank you for hosting it.
I found that so many crafters are just TOO hard on themselves..I wanted to encourage them to simply enjoy the process of Creating, feel the magic of making something beautiful from paper and glue and ink and...TOYS!!!!
About the google follower do-dad: mine still seems to be in it's usual place.
Hope you find yours!

And I had fun reading all the posts, great pictures and stories.
I am happy you will continue this hop next year.
I will keep it in mind just in case I may come across something I could submit.
Your blog is always a joy to read.
Thank you!

Congratulations to Lorraine and Janis...woot woot!! This has to be one of the most fun blog hops I've participated in, even though I wasn't even sure I had a card to enter. I loved reading about all the stories behind the card boo boos and was happy to find that there are no card mistakes that haven't also happened to someone else. I am also reminded of how supportive the crafting community is, and encouraging. Now, all I need to do is resist making a whole year full of card boo-boos so I have a doozy to enter for the next one! Let's face it, the card boo boos can be even more fun than a perfect card, right?

Jackie said...

I honestly cannot find any boo boos in your card. I love it. The colours are so bright that they remind me of spring and summer.
Thanks for sharing.

Geri said...

Dear friend, you are soooooooooooo creative and so resourceful! I had forgotten all about my 1100000 images of this vase that I stamped that day at the LH!

You turned my discarded little vase into a star!!! I love the DP that you used - perfect fit! Your photo is awesome! The shadow looks like you fussy cut a mat for the vase/flowers! Thanks for making me smile!

My apologies again for not playing along with your boo-boo challenge. We had birthday party for Eric (36 years young) so I was busy with that.

Miss you tons!

Congrats to the winners of your BooBoo hop.
I agree with you, I don't see anything wrong with this lovely vase of flowers and you proved it by making a lovely card. TFS

Congrats to your winners...they really broke me up with the oopsies. Still laughing and smiling. Glad you know how to rescue good work and make it sing...I can't see anything wrong with it either. This was so much fun...glad your doing it again. Maybe I'll be able to have a blooper that isn't too embarassing.

Brenda said...

A big congrats to the winners!!! I loved that you did this hop Auntie and I will be photographing my boo boo's for next year. My problem will be which one to chose. lol I loved going to each person and reading their story. Some I could see the "flaw" and others I could not. Yes, I'm not the most observant person! I laughed hard and could relate to some of the boo boo's making me feel let bad at my own. Can't wait until next year! I'm sorry that your computer got hacked!! Shame really, but like you we have never been either, but shhhhhh don't let that be said to loud!! But my blog has been hacked only I thought at first I did it and caused my pictures to be erased, but it wasn't me. Not sure what people get out of doing this to other people though. Anyway I'm glad you have a good firewall once again and are good to go! I love the card and nope, I didn't see a single boo boo. I can't imagine Geri throwing that beautiful vase and flowers away. I'm glad you rescued it Auntie! Hugs, Brenda

Love your card and the fabulous colours, a great post and challenge, I shall in future save all my boobs and there are many, instead of throwing them in the bin.

I enjoyed seeing the cards in the Boo Boo hop. I had no idea that I was in such good company. I will be saving my boo boos for next year and hope you have room! I am so sorry about the computer glitch you had. Please be careful now around your computer and don't get burned by the firewall! Make sure Hammy and the little ones are careful too. You did a great job with the rescue card.

So sorry to hear about the computer, glad it is all up and running again with the new Firewall - yes I always think it is a strange thing to call it too....

Great choices for the winners, I don't think I will be able to forget the 'tombstones' for a long time....

Your card is a real beauty! We did have an April Fools bit of fun on one of our DT's - no harm done, just lots of fun like your Boo Boo one. Hugs, Annie xxx

First, sorry about the old computer. I usually say "if it has four tires and a wheel you are going to have trouble," but that doesn't fit the dagnabit computer. Sorry I didn't get the time to enter my card for your challenge but it didn't work out. However, I could not have come close to having a good story like the two winners. Excuse me, but what is the Bob Box? Bits of Blunder? :) BBB

Your card is GORGEOUS & I had a blast! I spent April Fool's Day sharing some of the stories which stuck in my mind. I also showed my family your boo boo card and they all had raised eyebrows. ;) Soooo fun, thanks for the party. :)

Congrats to the winners, both were hilarious stories, and rightfully earned the honors!
Thanks Darnell, for bringing these fantastic challenges into our lives.....and give Hammy a little pat too......*grin*

Congrats to both winners! Sorry incident take part this year but have no photos of boo- boos as I usually just bin them if they can't be rescued! I can start planning/ trying to remember to photo, ready for next year. Love your card and I can't see anything wrong with the die cut either - so well done you for rescuing it from the bin!

Princess Judy Palmer said...

I checked out many of the boo-boos. I'm so glad I'm not alone in mounting the front on the card base wrong. I'm in good company! Also, lots of funny stories. So glad you will continue this on so instead of throwing the junk away we can first photograph it and then throw it away. Once my friend and I colored chickies at a restaurant with poor lighting, sweet yellow chickies with light orange beaks. Got home and they were ocre colored chicks with brown beaks. ICK!

Love the trashy card you made. Erm... card from trash. Indeed? Why was that trash?

Happy Dance said...

Almost did an upside down card front today...caught myself before I stuck it down hard. I had such a fun time with your hop Miss D.; thank you so much for doing it!! And I can't find any booboos on your rescued Geri card. This is so pretty! Love the pink dp you've used too. GREAT card! You've done yourself (and Geri) proud!! Love it!! Bev

Tracey McNeely said...

Fun blog hop Darnell! I did not play along, not because I don't make boo boo's, I make plenty but they were either long since recycled or made into a new cards and I didn't photograph my boob! ( I assume you might scratch your head reading that--lol) I had to comment on this card because I think it is fabulous that you rescued Geri's 'perfect' vase from the recycle and made a gorgeous card with it!! Well done!

TK said...

Congrats, Lorraine and Janis! I believe this was a GREAT hop, and can't hardly wait until next year to see some hootenanny hiccups in the card world! Thanks for hosting, Darnell! And you made a GrEAT card out of Geri's boo boo - sweet!

Well Hammy picked a great card to win! That really did make me laugh... Some of the others looked fine to me which has me wondering now how many did I post that weren't???? Glad you got rid of those nasties in your puter... I can't imagine what those hackers have in their heads ... if they are so clever why don't they put it to good use??Humph....
Fabulous card BTW ... bet your friend is smiling seeing that vase now!

So incredibly sorry to hear of your PC mishap. Definitely not fun. Just checked and my gadget is still in the sidebar!?! As for your boo boo hop, I'm off to look. Did catch a gander of your "busy" bunnies on FB. I've been known to stamp or attach a focal panel to the wrong side of a cardbase on occasion. Or get ink smudges on the cardbase when doublechecking to see if I'm attaching it to the right side! Can't wait to see what else showed up.
