LIM Week 66 - Colour Challenge ~ Yellow

Good Morn,

It's so nice to be able to play again with Chrissie and Mandi on their spectacular site Simply Less is More.  This week the challenge is a colour challenge and the color is:

Y E L L O W

For the whole month, LIM is sponsored by the extremely talented Arielle at the Wax Fruit Company
So many ways to go with this challenge, especially this time of year with all the spring flowers popping their heads out of the ground, tossing their petals over their shoulders like young girls at their first county fair without mom and dad around.  Me, well, my brain cell went bzzzzzzzzz.  I thought it was the dishwasher at first.  Then I made this card:

I used to be deathly afraid of bees.  I've been stung a couple of times and it hurts like a hot cattle prod, not that I would know what that feels like.  But the biggest surprise was realizing that I didn't, in fact, die.  Then I heard that there aren't as many bees as there used to be.  It is estimated that one-third of the human food supply depends on insect pollination, most of which is accomplished by bees.  I'm a big propellor of the food supply, so now I love bees.

I am so exstatic today to welcome Jen as a follower!  She has long been a bookmark in my Book of Stamps and I'm very appreciative to have her join.

Please enjoy ~ and, as always, thank you for stopping by to visit.   Special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower or leave a comment!

Love these bees. I'm fond of food, but still not too fond of real bees up close. I love the CASness of this card! Sweet!

I am watching a programme at this very moment about the importance of bees for the pollination of crops and how there is a problem that some of the insecticides used on the crops is harming the bees. Problem!
Your card is wonderful Darnell and your post made me giggle as ever... dishwasher indeed!
Your colouring is wonderful... very subtle!
Great card.
Thanks so much
Chrissie

And I`m watching the same program as Chrissie lol.
I love your bees, they make a fabulous card. I don`t mind real live bees at all but wasps terrify me. Trouble is sometimes it`s hard to tell the difference.

Your 'young girls at the county fair' made me laugh - so true! I don't mind bees or wasps but my dog stands guard over our lavender bush and tries to catch them. She got stung once but that hasn't put her off. Lovely card, the yellow & black combo is really striking.

I love the bees - just enough yellow. I took a look at your playhouse. As my kids would say, "I want a play date!" Organization is a quirky hobby of mine and I really admire yours!

Lovely card. I am not a real fan of bees either, but have you ever felt how soft they are?
Even softer than a newborn kitten. And I love honey :o)
And 2012 is the year of the Bee.

Very sweet card. I like bees, for what they accomplish--could do without their stings! But, you picked the perfect focal point for a yellow challenge.
