Scrap Your Stash ~ Waffle Flower Crafts ~ Guest Designer

Hello Stamplings!

I'm coming to you live at six o'clock in the morning from the House of Waffles. Doesn't that sound delish? But, no, that's silly. The truth is even better than that because I am actually here as an honored Guest Designer for the Waffle Flower Challenges - Week 2, thanks to an invite from my friend Jeanne!

This month's challenge theme is Scrap Your Stash - Unexpected Supplies and each week there is a different mini-challenge. Jeanne came up with the fun idea of having us play with our stash of embellishments, especially those embellishments that we haven't used in a while. Who knows, sometimes we bring things out of the past and they become new again!

I do still have a small supply of eyelets, brads, buttons, glitter, and ribbon in the Playhouse. After a rather amusing discussion with Hammy, we finally decided on buttons. And not just normal beautiful buttons, but a button from the Special Button Box!
It was fun going through all the button shapes and the winning button was this cute little clay pot. The gorgeous triple frame is Waffle Flower's Stitched Layers die and the leaf sprig in the pot is Waffle Flower's Sprigs die. The sprig was watercolored with my Ziggies. The teeny tag is from My Creative Time. Hammy tied it to the pot with a piece of floss because my fingers are too big for such delicate work.

I hope you will be inspired to join in the challenge! Thank you, Jeanne, for asking me to be a guest this week along with my talented friend, Nora! You have until August 31st to play and you can find the simple rules and linky here.
~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy, and keep safe! LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and becoming a follower. And really huge thanks for all the loving comments on my last post regarding Twofer.
p.s. I just have to share this. A new reader told me he searched on Google for the word "poycienality" from a recent post (thinking it was actually a word that he had never heard before) and the only thing that showed up in all the world was my blog! Haha! Of course, I'd rather be known for curing cancer or something huge, but still, it pickled me tink!
*Life is too short!
Congratulations Darnell on guesting and what a fabulous card you've made. A fun challenge and what a cute 'pot' button. The die stitched layers draw your eyes into the fun pot and sprig and so glad Hammy helped you out with tying the floss Darnell x. Thanks for sharing the 'story' at the end of the post x.
Hi there Darnell, I love your card, such a super simple design with a huge impact. The little clay pot button is so sweet.
How funny, he obviously doesn't know you are a Wordsmith, and come up with all sorts of weird and wonderful words, Hugs Kate x
Just the PERFECT CAS card, Darnell! Love that button. I used to have so many unusual buttons but I think I (foolishly?) purged them.
Such a cute card. I love all those layering frames just draw the eye to the cute pot. Hammy did a really good job tying on the tag. I have a boxes of buttons. Have kind of quite using them as they require hand stamping and extra postage to sent. Maybe we will see your new work in the next OED.
Now see...you just keep making up those words and you'll probably get all kinds of interesting subscribers. Hmmmm. Perhaps that might not be a good thing. Anyway, I own that Waffleflower die. It looks so wonderful on your card that I may have to break it out of the unused treasures bin and use it. Of course, finding a button like that may be impossible so it looks like you have a card that can't be CASE'd. It's a winner in my book.
Ha! Just have to comment on your last paragraph. Poycienality! You've got that! So funny that your blog popped right up. It's lovely for you to have this guest spot and give the flower pot button a chance to shine! It's so cute with it's little plant growing in it. Gosh, I have so many buttons that I cannot give up because most of them were from my Mom's button collection. I do hope to use some of the newer buttons one of these days. Surely there's still a place for them. I mean, just look how perfectly cute your card is!
Congratulations on being a GD over at the Waffle Flower Challenge Darnell and this card is beautiful with the multiple frames and then the pretty greenery tucked into your fabulous clay pot button, and finished with the sweet little tag sentiment. I had to laugh at someone actually thinking your made up word was a real one that they hadn't come across before, and Mr Google sending him straight to your door. Mind you I think it could be in the dictionary meaning perhaps a person with an ascerbic nature..lol. x
I think the button was the perfect choice! It's so cute with it's leafy plant - wish my plants looked that healthy. The theme of the challenge reminded me that I still have some "card candy" somewhere. Remember that? It was a precursor to enamel dots, but it was made from paper. I think I'll have a look for it tomorrow and see if I can use it on a card. You never fail to inspire!
The leafy die cut in that cute button flower pot is so cute. Those frames are the bomb and a perfect way to showcase the plant. Notoriety is notoriety! How cool you came up with the google search and how fun they looked up the word. Won't be long you'll be printing The American Heritage Knauss Dictionary!
Love your choice of your sweet pot button from your stash of buttons, Dolly. Wonderful framing, die cut leaves and tag. Who would have thought to tie a tiny tag onto a card with floss...you and Hammy, of course:-) TFS my friend. BTW..we are getting our 1st smoke from the No. CA fires...enough that I do not want to walk and will be wearing a mask when I go outside to the gardens, etc. I do have plenty of masks to choose from and the correct filters..lol! Hopefully our NW wind picks up in a few days:-) Congrats on your Guest Designer Gig too:-) Love and Hugs...Nancy
What a great item to find in your stash. My first look and I thought, "Where's the button"? Well, duh. Right in front of my face.
You do have some good made up words and the story cracks me up. [Bunny]
Well clever you. l had to look twice at your card to find the button...and there it was, all special and front-and-center. I've got quite a few shaped buttons in my very old stash...and now I might just have to take another look at them after seeing this beauty. The tiny sprig and tag couldn't be more perfect with that flower pot, and the triple frame is gorgeous!
