Even More Love ~

Hello Stamplings!

Here we are already in Febrooary and whooshing right along to the big holiday of L💘VE! The Mister is resting easier now that it's been one week post-op, so I grabbed a little time to make one more Valentine to play in some challenges.
This was the very last of my old laser cut note cards from SU, which I last used in 2014! I added some red glitter paper behind the heart and a die-cut sediment cut from red glossy paper. It was late in the day, but I think if you click to enlarge you can see the glimmer and glitter.

I can tell my mind is scattered in lots of directions because typing this up, I just remembered that I wanted to save this one and use it as a stencil. Oops. That's okay. After I sleep tonight, I won't remember this happened. Hammy didn't remind me because he's not here. With things being quiet in the Playhouse right now, he took the opportunity to take a bus down to LA and reconnect with some of his Hollywood friends from back in the day.

Nellie's Nook

Nellie had her friend Cisco over to play recently.
You've met him here before. Aren't they cute together? Nellie is acting aloof, but she really likes him.
Please pardon Nellie's posterior. I just thought this shot of them having a private conversation was too cute not to share. Which meme do you like best over Cisco's head:
  • "Really? And then what happened?"
  • "I don't care. I can walk on the grass if I want to."
  • "That looks painful. Have you been to the dentist?"
Or your own?

~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower! Please let me know you came by so I can be sure and return the flavor! At some point. You'll have to forgive me yet again for not visiting as my nursing duties take priority right now.
Watching your card, I have to feel love. :-) A great patterned heart. I like simple card design.
I think the dogs are talking about the newest reality show, so the first meme. :-)
Have a great day!
A beautiful card! It is funny how we save things for so long. But there is always something new and cool to buy, so we should probably use our stuff. Have a good day!
Love this heart and the schparkle and schine! I'm so glad Kevin's recovery is coming along. Bet you're still having to do a lot for him. There's a long recovery time for back surgery and it doesn't take much to cause more damage. Maybe Nellie is whispering that she just wants to be friends?
I am really enjoying the red and schparkle that is floating around blogland. This is real purty, Darnell!
I love the glitter paper behind that gorgeous heart (negative) die cut. Great shine on your sentiment as well! Glad to hear your husband is recovering well. Nellie and her friend are so cute together! All three of your captions work!!
Lovely card.
I know you think Hammy is in LA but Cisco and Nellie were actually whispering that he saved his allowance and went to Las Vegas instead. I hope he saves enough for bus fare back home. Mayne he'll win big.
I'm praying the Mister is getting relief, sleeping and eating good. So important! I'm sure you're a good nurse. [Bunny]
Love the red sparkle through this gorgeous heart, then the fabby Love die, both making a standout card Darnell. Beautiful.
Conversation?
"Smell me, I've just had a bath and powdering."
"I told you I wasn't going anywhere, it's food time!"
"What's the gossip today?"
So pretty Darnell is your card love the ❣ and sparkle nice to have an update for the hubby too and how gorgeous are those two they are just so adorable x
I know exactly what you mean about memory...mine is gone. Good to hear the Mister is improving.
Really like how you finished off this card and were able to use the leftover glitter paper from the holidays. Also, goes for the shiny red sentiment's paper.
It's a good think Hammy is away because the cuteness factor in your backyard would be off the charts if he was there. If you or Cisco's person ever need a pet sitter, I'm always available.
Verna Angerhofer said...
Well that is a beautiful card you made and I can see it as a great stencil too. But perhaps you will find a stencil that will work just as well for future uses. I thought maybe I was the only one who used die cut negatives for stencils. I am glad the Mister is able to rest easier now and I hope you are getting rested up as well. Take care you two!
I just love this and the sparkle shows up really well in the picture. I am so glad that the patient is making good practice and share your issues with remembering. Things like that happen to me all the time. My other have says I have a gold fish brain! It is so reassuring to hear someone else having similar issue xx
Well Nellie and Cisco top your card Darnell, what cuties and super photos.
Your card is beautiful though, loving the gorgeous heart die and your very simple design.
So good to hear that your husband is doing well,Kate x x
Beautiful, Darnell! I love the glitter paper peeking through the heart. As for the pups, I think "Really? And then what happened?" works perfectly! Thank you for sharing with The Paper Players this week!
What a fabulous die, so very pretty and it needs nothing else as it really speaks for it's self.
Well I think these two little cuties are going to give Dudley a run for cuteness.
lOVE THE CARD. LOVE THE PUPPIES. SO GLAD KEVIN IS ON THE MEND.
Stef Perry said...
The card turned out beautifully with the glitter behind the heart! It's unfortunate that it's your last laser cut panel with the heart but I've seen a couple really pretty stencils on EH that might be a good substitute...just sayin'!
The two doggies are adorable together! The line about the dentist really cracked me up! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful card with The Paper Players this week!
What a beautiful laser cut heart Darnell and I love the red glitter paper behind the heart which definitely has lots of sparkle in contrast to the beautiful shine of the sentiment. So pleased The Mister is feeling more comfortable now and I love the photos of Nellie and her friend Cisco..so cute! I think Cisco is saying "Do you mind if I say that you're looking very pretty today", he does look a little in awe of her..lol. x
Glad to hear the Mister is going in the right direction!
Love the card - bet it's sparkly.
Nellie and Cisco are adorable. And their conversation! Cisco does look intent so I'm going with the "what happened next" line!
Darnell, great Valentines card, love those sparkly hearts :) and so happy the mister is on the med. Love those doggy photos :) Tika might just have to come for a visit at the retreat, but remember no soft toys and keep Hammy safe Apple still has a few legs missing now!!!
Cheryl W. said...
Your Valentine is beautiful! I love the glitter and glimmer. The puppies are very cute together. I think Cisco may be saying, "Seriously? Did you just LICK me?" Of course, he's also thinking, "...and I really liked it!"
TK said...
Paws-atively gorgeous! Love the red shimmer, and bummed for you that you didn't remember to make a stencil first...
As for Cisco? I thought he said "Howza 'bout a hot date, Babe?"
Well Hello Darnell!! I think yours is the only blog I come to visit, so unfortunately I don't get out in blogland often enough. IG devours all of my online card sharing time. Which is such a shame, because I miss you!!! And it looks like I missed your Mister's big back surgery! Ideally I would have been cheering for him starting last week, but I'll start rooting for his recovery now. Back pain is one of things you totally take for granted until you have to deal with it. So glad that will be changing for him!
Love your SU card even though you missed your opportunity to make it work as a stencil. It was meant to be, right?
Big hugs, nurse Darnell, and I'm still so darn excited about getting your email last month!!! I can only imagine the craziness to come : )
xo,
Kelly
Gorgeous Darnell - what a sparkler! As for those pups - they are just as adorable! I am thinking - "and then he said ... then she said... then he said ..." but maybe that's just what I hear from my teens all the time lol! Thanks for sharing your love-ly creation with us over at The Paper Players this week!
Hi, Glad to hear "Mister" is doing better. My "Mister" is having health issues. I'll drop you a note when I have time in between playing Nurse too.
Your card is really cute too. I never know what to do with the sparkly paper I have. You have inspired me to get it out. Thank you.
Your "puppies" are adorable too. Thanks for sharing the pics.
First, Nellie is saying, "What I really want to do, is go visit and make cards at Auntie Hoo-hoo's house." Cisco replies, "Sounds like the most fun ever!!!" It's all about chasing the squirrels, I think...or maybe the treats. Or both. That's an amazing laser cut (my last dog's name was Laser, btw). It makes a very cool Valentine with that glitter paper behind it, too. It's a wonderful CAS card, dear friend. I love it. xo Missing you. Bev
Such a pretty card!! The sparkle that glitter paper gives to a white card is exquisite : )
Happy to hear Kevin is recovering. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to suffer back pain. I'm praying he heals quickly so he can go back to kicking up his heels!! : ) cuz after all... I heard somewhere... life is too short! *wink*
I sure can see the glimmer and glitter and it's very pretty! Love all that beautiful sunshine. How much adorableness can I handle in one day? Nellie and Cisco almost put me over my limit! So cute! Nellie is so clean and pristine white. I can never get over that. I'd go with the first caption.
WOT - you let Hammy loose - I do hope he doesn't get seduced by the bright lights, either LA or Vagus, and that he comes back home soon :)
Loving your card Darnell, it's a stunner with all that glitter, even if you didn't have Hammy to help - I know what you mean about forgetting just why you saved something...
Great to hear that the Mr is on the mend... it's obviously been a long road to this point. Praying for a total recovery
Blessings
Such a pretty and glittery card and with no Hammy about to help out with the bling x. I suspect you are missing him?
Cisco and Nellie are adorable and I suspect Cisco is saying that he can walk on the grass and trying to get one up on the well behaved Nellie x Sending hugs x.
So glad to hear the Mister is resting easier now, hopefully each week will get a little easier and easier for him. I love your card Auntie, I thought though, at first glance, that you used embossing paste to make this beauty. Never did I think it was a laser note card! It looks beautiful and I love that die cut love. Oops for not saving it as a stencil, sounds like me all the time on everything! Nellie and Cisco are so cute together. I think first meme is perfect as they really do look like they are discussing something! Maybe even gossiping. lol Nursing duties come first before anything Auntie! Hugs, Brenda
How fun that Nellie had a play date! They are both so cute! What a gorgeous Valentine! Love how you backed that gorgeous heart with glitter, even though you meant to use it as a stencil!
Lisa Elton said...
The shimmer on your card is terrific Darnell!BUt i have to say that Nellie and Cisco have stolen the spotlight!
Karenladd said...
I would have admired your gorgeous card Darnell, except that I was distracted by the absolute cuteness of Nellie and Cisco acting too cool for school on the back deck. Oh, and that rear view of Nellie has me snickering so loudly that I almost woke up my husband...shhhhh
Anita in France said...
I see all the delicious shimmer and shine, Darnell ... and it's fabulous! The contrast between the bold foil sentiment and that delicately flowered heart is wonderful! Those pups are such cuties ... Cisco to Nellie 'hello sweetie, wanna smooch?'. Sadly, we can't hear Nellie's response ... though I suspect it might be something like 'what, in front of all these people'? LYSMYHAHMA! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
