A site for my handmade cards, accompanied by my photos and written meanderings which are occasionally witty, often tongue-in-cheek, and rarely profound. Beginning in June 2013, you'll also see lots of NBUS, which is an acronym I coined for Never-Before-Used-Schtuff. Note: my Privacy Policy can be found at a tab below and you can find my NBUS Challenge online. I hope you'll join in the fun there! Thanks for coming by! Have a beverage and enjoy!

NBUS Challenge #12 ~ Day Six!

Hello, Stamplings!

Welcome to Day Six of our ten-day challenge to USE NBUS! For all the details on the history, rules, and prizes, please go here. If you have a card to enter today, the linky tool is below!

Are you sick of seeing me every day? Hee-hee, I told you I had a LOT of cheeky sediments to amuse you! On tap for today:
This gorgeous young thang is from Art Impressions and she's called "Rhonda With Hat." You've met her before, but the sediment is NBUS from Verses Rubber Stamp Co. She was colored with Ziggies and bordered with Washi.

And then we have her twin sister, also called Rhonda:
I know, so bad! But I have to say I'm now at an age where this actually happens!! So does the bad flush I get from a tiny bit of exertion!
I'm going to be serious for a minute. That's a fun boob sediment, but breast cancer is not funny, so it's a timely card to remind us that next month is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Time to make those yearly donations and set that appointment for your mammogram squishing!

Off you go now! Use that NBUS!! You're doing GREAT!! I know a lot of bloggers have moved from Blogland to Instaland. We miss them, but there is still a ton of terrific inspiration in the gallery! And as before, I've also set up a Pinterest page for your awesome creations! I'm very proud of all of you!!

Enjoy the challengeNo, seriously, enjoy!

These are a hoot! I love her and her hat. I can relate to the first card for sure. There is something in my closet that shrinks my clothes a little bit more every season. I'm enjoying seeing all the cards in the NBUS challenge. Such great cardmakers!

I love these "snarky" cards you have been making Darnell - so fun!!! Sure to put a smile on someone's face. Thanks SO much for sponsoring your challenge again, and I think I saw that you said to mention what "prize" we would be interested in - if we won- and I would LOVE the gift card! Thanks again and happy Friday, friend!

GREAT cards today Darnell and thank you once again for my morning laugh...you done good today!! And I also wanted to say that while I am one of those who is now figuring my way around Instagram, I will never leave blogland and think there is definitely room for both in this world! Hope you have a great weekend my friend!! :0) And P.S....did you notice that my Google+ came back when Loll put my profile back on? She had taken it off to be admin while she did the redesign, and once she took herself off the Google+ came back on...yeah, I didn't lose my followers!! :0)

It touches everyone's life in one way or another, and you'll be proud to know that my good old mammyogrammyo was negative! Woohoo!!! Checks are vital to keep us all that way! Clearly, I've been shopping for stamps in all the wrong places or I'm just totally oblivious. I was still laughing at yeterday's cards and then these appeared...the hilarity is never ending. Honestly, girl, you're killing me. BTW, I've already had my squishing done for the year...and found that and gravity means that the squishing is much less now.

Oh, stop! I'm trying to enjoy the peace and quiet on a drizzly morning and then you went and made me laugh out loud! Almost spewed my coffee, in fact. These are hilarious and with super coloring. Love those splats on the second card. I had my mammogram last month. You can never over-emphasize the importance of mammograms and self-exams. Have a good day!

Another two brilliant cards, Darnell, how DO you find all these images and sentiments??

On the subject of mammograms, my appointment date for my mammogram arrived in the post this week. In case you didn't see the Ode I posted on my Facebook page, I'll post it here. (Not written by me!) xx

Ode to a Mammogram

For years and years they told me,
Be careful of your breasts.
Don't ever squeeze or bruise them.
And give them monthly tests.
So I heeded all their warnings,
And protected them by law.
Guarded them very carefully,
And I always wore my bra.
After 30 years of astute care,
My gyno, Dr. Pruitt,
Said I should get a Mammogram.
"O.K," I said, "let's do it."
"Stand up here real close" she said,
(She got my boob in line,)
"And tell me when it hurts," she said,
"Ah yes! Right there, that's fine."
She stepped upon a pedal,
I could not believe my eyes!
A plastic plate came slamming down,
My hooter's in a vice!
My skin was stretched and mangled,
From underneath my chin.
My poor boob was being squashed,
To Swedish Pancake thin.
Excruciating pain I felt,
Within it's vice-like grip.
A prisoner in this vicious thing,
My poor defenseless tit!
"Take a deep breath" she said to me,
Who does she think she's kidding?!?
My chest is mashed in her machine,
And woozy I am getting.
"There, that's good," I heard her say,
(The room was slowly swaying.)
"Now, let's have a go at the other one."
Have mercy, I was praying.
It squeezed me from both up and down,
It squeezed me from both sides.
I'll bet SHE'S never had this done,
To HER tender little hide.
Next time that they make me do this,
I will request a blindfold.
I have no wish to see again,
My knockers getting steamrolled.
If I had no problem when I came in,
I surely have one now.
If there had been a cyst in there,
It would have gone "ker-pow!"
This machine was created by a man,
Of this, I have no doubt.
I'd like to stick his balls in there,
And see how THEY come out.
