Twelve Tags of Christmas with Loll and Friends - Day Seven

Well, hello!

I'm so glad you stopped by today and I hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Have you been enjoying all the tags for both fall and Christmas that are flooding the Blogways? I'm always so impressed by the talented tag artists who can evoke, emote, and elaborate their creations in such a tiny format!

Today it is my turn as I have the honor of being the Guest Designer for Day Seven of my talented friend Loll's annual Twelve Tags of Christmas event. There are oodles of amazing tags already in Loll's gallery to inspire you and I hope you can add your own!

Here's mine:
I
So, okay, this is a case where actions belie words. Having implied that making ONE tag intimidates me, leave it to me to create a THREE-tag ensemble for you!

I used the "Stitched Main Street Tags" from Poppystamps to cut the large silver mirri tag and the two smaller tags. (The tiny border of color behind the sediment tag was fussy cut.) Using a snippet of Brusho background, I embossed and die cut the NBUS poinsettia from Poppystamps called "Stitched Poinsettia." The heat-embossed sediment is from "Winter Wreath" by Avery Elle and that wee heat-embossed poinsettia stamp is also NBUS, from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Thank you for the pleasure of returning as one of your guest designers this year, Loll! I'm in some amazingly-talented company! And thank you for all the tag inspiration you provide!
~~~
As long as I was over at Loll's playing, I thought I would switch back to fall and bring along a card I made for her CAS Mix Up Card Challenge:
The November brief is to use masking and one other mixed media option which, in this case, is watercoloring. The images are all from Technique Tuesday's "Fall" stamp set. I masked the rake, painted the sky and leaves using my KGT paints, and then stamped the sediment. I used my Kaleidoscope "Autumn Leaves" ink pad to overstamp the line leaf stamp in the set. After removing the mask, I painted the rake using my brown and silver Stellas because, you know, there are rakes and then there are schparkly rakes.
And speaking of, I thought it would be a bit whimsical if I placed the rake at a, well, rakish angle. Instead it appears to be floating, so let's pretend this is a magical rake that dispenses of leaves without any need for human backaches! Amen!
LOVE your three tag "ensemble" Dolly! The inlaid brushos poinsettia is gorgeous paired with the mirri paper. Love the sweet mini tags and beautiful ribbons. Thank you so much for being a Guest Designers at my Twelve Tags of Christmas event!! xx
And thank you for playing along at CAS Mix Up. Love the beautiful autumn coloured leaves and schparkly rake. :) I agree with you about raking, wouldn't it be wonderful to have remote control rakes to save our backs! :) Lolly xx
For a bonus...you added a gorgeous Autumn CAS Mix Up masking creation :-) Did you know mulched leaves are wonderful for composting and...jumping into (before they are mulched and you are a kid)?
TFS both Darnell...have a wonderful Autumn Day. Hugs, Nancy
I love your stylish tag Darnell - the stitched detail and beautiful ribbon, along with your crisp embossing make this into one of those tags that will be kept when the wrapping paper has been disposed of.
Great masking and beautiful warm colours on your second beauty too!
Hope you are keeping well my friend.
Oh my, I knew I was going to see some wonderful schtuff here, and you certainly didn't disappoint me. I'm blown away by the silvery gleam and the rich blues of #1 tag, love the way you've used these pretty dies. The brusho look was perfect as the inset poinsettia leaves. And I'm impressed with masking the skinny handle of the rake in #2. Great w/coloring on the leaves & sky. I need lessons! Hope all has been going well in the world of Knauss & Co. Sorry to have been MIA. Take care and TFS. Have a great upcoming week (and if tags intimidate YOU, think what it does to me!) Hugs.
Your tag is absolutely stunning Darnell ! I love your idea of Three-tag ensemble ! Your blue Brushos is very beautiful and surrounded with all this silver it seems to be itself shimmering ! I like the assortment of ribbons you used, the whole ensemble is very delicate !
Your fall card is exactly what we had to do this week-end ! Unfortunately, our rake was not magical ! So, backaches are to be expected in a few days ! But your card is fabulous, and these leaves are beautiful, with the perfect fall colours ! Thanks for sharing.
Darnell, your tag is absolutely fabulous! How I love the elements you chose for this and the design is just brilliant. It has such pizzazz! What an eye-catcher this one is!
Your tag is a shiny masterpiece. I love blue and silver together - especially at Christmas time. And I think the colorful fall-inspired card would be right at home at Hogwarts. I've sure there's a magical rake or two around there!
Princess Judy Palmer said...
Is it actually permissible to place a rake at a rakish angle or have you just broken the laws of nature? I have to say that you are a girl after my own heart. I feel one lonely tag is well, lonely, so one tag always needs a friend or two to come along for the ride. I like that you used SILVER for the tag. That makes it quite the standout.
Well know, I figured you would have to be a guest designer sooner or later! lol I am loving your 3 tag ensemble!! And the beautiful mirror paper just make this tag ensemble shine. The brusho poinsettia is so pretty, love that the negative leaves behind the stitching. The itty bitty embossed flower on the little itty bitty tag is so sweet as well. Love, love, love! Now speaking of love, wow, loving your autumn card too! I am not that great with masking but it is fun to try. Your masking turned out great! Love that big pile of leaves you made with the leaves that go into the basket of this stamp set, not sure how you did it, but you did it well. I'd say you have two definite winners here!! Hugs, Brenda
A triple tag, Darnell ... all shiny and frosty looking ... stylish, stunning and just gorgeous! Congratulations on guesting with Loll for this fabulous tag event! Your schparkly rake and those richly coloured autumn leaves are wonderful ... looks like our courtyard, though we don't have a magical rake! When you've finished finished with it could we borrow it ... assuming it's magic extends to flying over here solo ... otherwise Nibble will have to undergo training! LYAMYTMA! Big hugs & bisous, Anita :)
Ooh, I want one of those schparkly, magical rakes! I'd like some of those pretty leaves too. Our leaves are just brown. But we had a frost last night so we're hoping for a few colored leaves before they all fall! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!
And I love your quadruple tag! An awesome design with the beautiful blue alcohol inked poinsettia and the sweet little gold one!
Congrats on the guest designer spot! Your tag is delightful. I like the shininess. I applaud you for stepping up and shining in your guest designer roll. I really like your leafy card, too. Such lovely colors and who wouldn't love a backache free turn at raking leaves. :) Hope you have an amazing week!
I believe you have become one of those "talented tag artists" with this tag. It is just lovely. Great combo of mirror, blue, white and touches of silver and gold. The brusho poinsettia is gorgeous. I really love those leaves on the fall card. They are a beautiful mix of fall colors and the glitter rake makes raking much more fun. Well, maybe fun isn't the right word for raking. Glamorous is the word I'm looking for!
Cheryl W. said...
Beautiful tag, and I love that pile of leaves. Looks just like my yard! Wish I had that magical, schparkly rake to take care of them.
Geri said...
Two stunning creations!
That tag...my goodness...took my breath away! EVERYTHING totally works - the ribbons, the silver base, the gorgeous Brusho poinsettia, the faux stitching...everything is PERFECT!!!
Great idea to use your 'Kaleidoscope' ink pad to achieve those stunning fall colors in the leaves! Beautifully shaded background! BTW...the schparkly rake looks perfectly grounded to me!
What a gorgeous Tag - the blue's you have chosen to use are so vibrant, it really is eye-catching. Love the fall card too - my favourite colourway.
My friend from the States who is visiting is Scottish by birth (been in USA for 30+ years) but it is my american friend Mary who sent the pens, Maria just carried them but she brought me some awesome Scottish Fudge as she is staying mainly with family in Scotland on this trip.
