WOYWW #258

Hellooo!

We've whooshed around to another Happy Hump Day!

I have a quick post for my friends participating in What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday (WOYWW), hosted by the friendly and funny Julia. The purpose of WOYWW is to have a signal, or I should say, single day of the week whereby you lift your crafting skirts and show off your crafty desk and then all around you other crafters do the same thing! There are hundreds of us and it's quite a sight!

Here is my desk astrewn and asundered and assaulted by all things watercolor as I continue a fun and outstanding online course I am taking.
If you squinch, you might make out a special guest visiting me. Here I'll zoom in a bit.
Is that better?
How about this?
Yes, it's Flat Susan! Many of you know all about Flat Susan who originated from Neet of Hickydorums, but if you don't, and you'd like more information, she has her own website which you can access here or via the link on my side bar. The idea of Susan is like that of the famous Flat Stanley. Shirley, you've heard of him?

I will do a separate post about my adventures with Flat Susan, who has been all over the world in order to arrive in sunny Northern California USA for a visit. As she is a very noteworthy addition to my desk this week, I had to share her with you and let you know she arrived safely. I am so thrilled to have the extra set of hands to help me make ATCs for the upcoming WOYWW 5th anniversary ATC Swap! Needles to say, FS will be doing the very very detailed work.

I'll will also put today's watercolor homework in a separate post so that I can keep this post nice and bareef for you hoppers. Have a wonderful time! You can click on the above link if you would like more details and can join in the fun!!

You can swing it
You can sway it
You can really start to fray it
At the hop.
Let's go to the hop.

Wait. What? Those aren't the right words, fool.

~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy.  LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment and/or join as a follower! Please let me know you came by, so I can be sure and return the flavor!
Here is a photo of me with the twin grandsons on Mother's Day. They keep growing!!
I'm familiar with Flat Stanley. He visited with us a couple of years ago courtesy of a grandniece in Michigan. But this is the first I've seen of Flat Susan. Your desk looks as if you're having a creatively good time at it :)
Geezer Darnell, even your desk in disarray is still organized. lol Not mine! It is a hot mess right now! Wait, not just right now, all the time. I no sooner clean up and then have it messed right back up again. Oh well, that's part of being creative right?! Even though I will never be as creative as you are! Your water coloring is amazing! I've not heard of Flat Susan, so I will have to check her out. Flat Stanley, yea I had him around. lol Hugs
Hi Darnell,
The watercolor page you're working on looks great! What type of watercolors are you using?
So glad Susan arrived safely. I see her leg is still attached - so glad her surgery went well and has stayed.
Can't wait to see where you take her!
Happy WOYWW
wow, FS is really traveling around the world. I've seen her on a few other blogs, and will have to check out this story. I'm sure she is going to be a big help to you & Hammy. I hope they get to be good friends too. This desk does NOT look like the usual for you. I'm off to enjoy your w/c posts. I've managed to look at video 2, but got the remainder to catch up. Oh , I'm so intrigued by Flat Susan. Traveling all over the world and still in remarkably good shape. :D
Thanks for commenting on many of my cards. I enjoy hearing from you. I'll be hopping along with the ATC posties.
Cute grandsons! Hey, your Flat Susan makes me think of my son's Flat Stanley project he had to do this month in class. We mailed two Flat Stanley's (twins, perhaps?) to two cousins far away. I am excited to hear about the two Stanley's travels. Have a terrific day! P.S. You are brave to show off your work station in the middle of creative chaos. I still can't make myself do it. LOL
It appears Flat Susan is having fun watching you get crafty! And, you are so lucky to have a work place. I have the corner of the kitchen table and then I have to put it away as soon as I am finished. Or at least far enough away so we can eat! LOL
Hmmm I never heard of Flat Susan. I also didn't know that she traveled to other people. When I had a visit from Flat Stanley some years ago, I kept him all to myself. I had a great time taking pictures of him everywhere.
Where have I been never heard of FS, until now. How fun!
From the looks of your desk you have been busy with watercolor. I love watercolor and not sure why I did not take the class. Just wanted to say hi, since i have been so behind in commenting. I do not know how you keep up.
Darling picture of you & the twins, Darnell!
Hi Darnell. I have to say she has been one busy lady, and I have seen the badge on your side bar but actually didn't realise who she was. I must admit that desk has seen a lot of action lately with your watercolouring in full swing, and if you hadn't zoomed in I might have missed poor FS amongst the debris. What a great picture of you with the twins, such lovely boys, but not too sure about the one in the middle. No seriously, I'm glad you had a good time. x
Lunch Lady Jan said...
Darnell, how jolly spiffing of you to pop by! I am so behind with my WOYWW visits this week just cos of life n stuff...
Great pic of the boys and you....just happy and joyful. Hope your Mothers Day was filled with love :-)
Hugs, LLJ 22xx
PS, I really loved that Princess poem you featured in your next post....I laughed out loud :-)
What a lovely, fun post, Darnell - I adore your mastery of words which always brings a smile to my lips!! The same applies to your lovely comment (for which many thanks) with all the "ups" lol!! Yes, I'm really into up-cycling these days and so enjoying the challenge. I am about to embark on a project made from my medication wrappers which should be fun. After a really tidy Wednesday, my desk is a different story today as I've got all my painting stuff out, working on decorating my recycled album.
Nice to see the little anorexic lady is still on her travels around the world. Someone really ought to give her a square meal on the way!!
Happy belated WOYWW,
