Happy Thanksgiving All! ~ ATSM#73; NBUS#75; WOYWW#234

Hello Everyone!

I'm joining in with this week's What's On Your Workdesk (WOYWW)where crafters from all over the world post photos of their desks and talk about what's goin' on in their little corner of the world.  If you would like more information, the link will take you to the headquarters, operated superbly by the lovely Julia.  Julia has tabs on her site with all the details for you.

Here is my happy desk, where I've just finished off the last of the Thanksgiving cards for this year:
Of special note is the display sill.   Today's remarkable creations were made and sent to me by desker Claire of Ham 'n' Mule Designs.  Claire recently turned 40 and in celebration she made 40 cards for 40 WOYWWers and I was fortunate enough to receive TWO of them!!  Plus another card with a note!  How glorious is that?!  Thank you again, Claire!

~~~
In preparing for Thanksgiving, I even made a card for all of you!  I'm so lucky to have made many wonderful friends via this crazy WOYWW and via my other wanderings around the webbing.
As it happens, my Thanksgiving thank you card is perfect for the brand new "Holidays" challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, although it might stand out like a sore thumb amidst all the stunning Christmas cards!
GRAB OUR BADGE!
Here tis:
I love how the piece of burlap goes so well with the NBUS patterned paper.  I actually forgot I bought that pad of Fall paper from PTI during the summer and since I was lucky enough to stumble across it yesterday, I HAD to make a card with it before we rush headlong into Christmas!
~~~

I hope I'll be forgiven for posting this on Tuesday night.  Julia reminded us recently that we are not supposed to link before Wednesday, which makes sense because, after all, it's called What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Unfortunately, with the time differences, I'm asleep while most of you are desk hopping and vice versa, so by the time I can physically add my link when I get up on Wednesday morning, a lot of you are done hopping for the week.  It's just the way of the world, something to do with moons and revolutions, and possibly even someone named Greenwich.  Well, this week I'm going rogue so all my awesome WOYWW friends can join my non-WOYWW friends and see my card and read my message of gratitude:

Thanksgiving is overshadowed by Halloween on one side and Christmas on the other, but on this one day we pause to reflect and be grateful for the people and things that we often take for granite throughout the year.  It's an opportunity for me to thank you again for following my little blog and leaving your wonderful comments, both of which bring me great joy and encourage me to keep it up!  You are really fantastic, my friends, and I'm very grateful for each of you!

~~~
Enjoy the next few days!  We've got visiting family and friends and dogs all gathering together for a huge feast and festivities and then, yippie, we have the grandtwins staying over for the weekend!  So, unless there is an unexpected lull in the action, I won't see you until next month!!  I promise I'll be way fatter.
Happy Thanksgiving!  Mwah!!
Happy Thanks Giving to you and what a gorgeous card you made. I have the opposite problem with Wednesday as we are ahead in Australia and it's late afternoon when Julia posts for Wednesday morning in England. It would be boring if we all hd the same time though. Love your fabulous desk, have a great week.
Rather like you do with sticky posts? Hope made it clear?? Happy WOYWW, love Shaz.xx #22
Hi Darnell.
Thanks so much for already visiting. Yes, we are extremely blessed to live where we do - open spaces, fresh air(sometimes a bit TOO fresh!!), but we love it all. Thanks, too, for the thank you card!! What a beautiful idea.
Now, I don't want you worrying your little head off about HAVING to comment straight way on my blog - it takes me all week to go round and make comments on WOYWW, and even then, I don't nearly get round everyone. Folk keep commenting on my post until the next one comes out!! I had one comment this week on Tuesday evening. So, you just carry on and comment as and when you can. We all understand life happens...
Do have a wonderful thanksgiving time with all your family and friends - those cards are lovely, too. Have a great week.
The only thing that might be in my favor is that I do the cooking, and all the kitchen work has got to burn some calories, right? I love your card with the burlap stitched on the side, by the way...adorable. Hugs dearest and thanks for visiting me too. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #16
Stunning TG cards DJ! Beautiful colours and I love the burlap on the one you took extra photos of. I look at it this way with the link list, it's Wednesday somewhere, right?! Katherine Hepburn my ass! There was a lady with class, unlike me, lol! I was trying to be arty so you could concentrate on the cowl and not the wearer! I hope the fiber mill can brag about their achievements, you know how serious the Olympic peeps get about copyright and using their logos and what not. Yup, ball winders (and swifts) are very useful when the wool comes in hanks (skeins) and not balls, link here. Andrew is getting tired of sticking his arms out to hold the wool while I make it into a ball! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family visiting, have fun with the twins staying over. I'm very thankful for this interwebby thing and for meeting wonderful people like you.
Hugs
Your card is beautiful, but even more beautiful is your reason for creating it! You, your site and your cards have been one of my most treasured discoveries this year: I am soooo thankful that the magical, mystical Universe brought you into my space. To you, the Mister, your son and daughter-in-law, the handsome twins and, of course, Duke the grand-dog - may you be blessed with the abundance of Thanksgiving as you celebrate tomorrow! Hugs, many hugs!!
Your creations are so full of rich fall colors dancing around -- looked great!!
The card that you posted today is really lovely with all of that fab texture!! I've been toying with adding some more fabrics to my card after a recent use of tulle where I had loved the effect. I like my cards pretty clean, (as I know you do, too!) -- but some of the fabrics & ribbons are just calling my name!! ;))
Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving & a good weekend ahead!! Xo
