Last week I had a couple of spools of ribbon out on my desk for why I can't remember, but I happened to notice how pretty they were together. They are quilty ruffly ribbons from SU! in Baja Breeze and Pear Pizzazz. They have been sitting there waiting, every day since, which activity I don't normally allow. My MO is that if you aren't being used, you go back where you belong, you don't just get to sit there and be in the way.
Yikes, that makes me sound really mean, but I'm knot, I'm just too simple-minded to work in Chaos. I applied for a position there once and the HR lady just threw back her head and laughed out loud. I thought it was rude.
But I divest. So finally I said, okay, c'mere, let's see what we can do.
Turns out they look cute lined up or twisted or tied ... so I went in search of a challenge for them to enter and I found two.
Over at Freshly Made Sketches, the sketch this week is by the terrific Jen Temko:
Oh, so many cards you can make with this fun sketch!
And over at Addicted to Stamps and More, the challenge is "Anything Goes!" We all love that! It is my first time playing with this amazing group and about time! They are sponsored by the awesome:
Both of these fun challenges have a couple days left, so I hope you can join in the fun!!
I made this:
It's another three-ingredient card with no stamping! Ribbon, shiny paper from DCWV, and an embellie from K & Company. Oh, wait, four ingredients if you count the white PTI card base. I simply laid out the strips of ribbon over some Aileen's Tacky Glue, cut off the bottom, covered the top and bottom with the strip of paper and popped on that beautiful sediment. "Live Life." Amen.
It's really shiny and cuddly IRL. I hope you are having a shiny and cuddly day IRL!
I'm off to help Mister with some yard work and then after we hose off and clean up real good, we are going over to take the twins out to dinner and, maybe, if their Mom and Dad behave, we'll let them come along!
I'm excited to welcome Nonni as a new friend today! Nonni comes to us from her sensational site Runaway Cards where you will find lots of inspiration. Thank you, Nonni, for joining us!
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy your day. LITS*!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Playhouse. Special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment or join as a follower!
Life Is Too Short!
Hi Darnell. What a fabulous card and that beautiful ribbon is to die for. The colours are so vibrant and sunny, just like the day wqe had to-day. Hugs from Scotland. Rita xx
If you hadn't shown the ribbon, people would think you pleated it yourself and be amazed. Oh,wait. They'll be amazed anyway since it's such a fabulous card.
Talk about yummy looking on a card!! This is it! Delightful and so lovely.
Beautiful card Darnell, that ribbon and ribbon treatment are to die for. Love the colours too.
Oooooh love your fancy ribbon treatment and sparkly blossom Darnell! Pretty card ;)
Love this one ~ the beautiful ribbons and embellishment go together like they were made for each other.
Ooh, Darnell, gorgeous ... reminds me of one of those elegant quilted silk throws! Anita :)

So pretty! At first I also thought you sewed/pleated the ribbon, until I went back to look at it again. So creative! but then again, what else can I expect from you? Now you have me wanting to buy that ribbon...smile...
Hopefully, you will find time to stop by my blog soon. I have a special post today...
Have a great weekend...Jill
I'm with you on the can't work in chaos thing, it's just like I 'turn off'. But now onto the card Darnell... WOW! I literally said this when I saw it, it's true (my husband even asked what I said... and I told him I was talking to you not him lol) it's soooo pinned!
Aw Pwetty Darnelli! I have some of that ribbon, which I use to stroke only, but use sparingly! That card will have to go to someone vewy speschial!
Gorgeous card!! What a great use of that yummy , Darnell. Good luck in the challenges.
Oh wow, what a gorgeous shiny card! The ribbons look fantabulous!!
love Mags B x
How beautiful, Darnell! What a great idea to line up that pleated ribbon. It looks like a warm satin comforter. And that flower is gorgeous! I had a group of friends stamping here today and they are still oohing and aahing about that beautiful butterfly card! It's one of my favorites too!
Wow! This is so pretty! Love the ribbon!
One of my all-time favorite cards! What a wonderful look with those gorgeous ribbons!
This is so pretty. Those ribbons make it look kind of woven. I am impressed that you would even think of using so much ribbon on one card--I am too much of a hoarder.
Hi Dolly. Fabulous ribbon treatment. Love those colors together. Great take on the sketch as well. And your beautiful and glittery flower just tops everything off. Great job. Thanks so much for joining us at Addicted to Stamps & More - Anything Goes!! Lolly xx
Great design, Darnell, and very tactile, I'd imagine!!
I so want to reach out and rub your card!! Good for you for using the ribbon too ... these are the types of things that I tend to hoard. What a lovely way you put it all together. Hiding the ends under the paper is so smart : )
Way to use that ribbon in a unique and special way! I like those color mates too! Very pretty card!
Well! Aren't you sooooo clever! I have a couple of those ribbons and I find them really hard to work with. I think it is the user though, not the ribbon ;). How you have combined them on this card is genius, Darnell. I really, really, really like it! Great job. Thanks so much for playing along at ATSM! xx
Beautiful card Darnell :)
I love what you did with the ribbon-you made it look like a fabulous quilted throw.I would need some sort of counselling if i were to use that much of my precious ribbon stash one ONE card though ! LOL !
This is AWESOME!!!!
What a fab way to use the ribbon! It looks gorgeous! Have a fab day xx
Beautiful and yummy card!!! what a great use of that gorgeous ribbon....would you come over and help me get out of "my" chaotic mess of a room...lol..I need all the help I can get!!
Beautiful card, so tactile. I love how you've reversed the direction of the ribbon with the alternate colours, it gives it so much texture. And I love the colour combo.
Beautiful. Just beautiful. One of my favourite colour combos after pink+pink of course. Hugs Mrs a.
Oh my...it really is cuddly and cozy!!! The shiny satin reminds me of a soft blanket with the satin edging. Love the sparkle and the bling! Awesome job getting the ribbon rows so PERFECTLY straight!!!
What a creative way to use the ribbon! And I love your sparkly flower! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
Amazing card - I just adore that lovely ribbon and the colours are so pretty - hugs xx

I just want to touch this card, it really does look cuddly! :) I am so impressed that you got all the ribbons lined up perfectly too - it's not just me! ;)
