Inkspirational Hello from Middle America, with a stop at Pixie's Playground!

Welcome from Miss Ouri, USA and Happy Tuesday!

I've only time for a quick post today.  I made a couple more cards the day before I came to my sister's.

I made this card for the Moxie Fab: Tuesday Trigger "Pattern Play."  I see that I'm too late to enter it, but I thought I would share it anyway.

I made this card for my half-Irish Mister for St. Patrick's Day and I'm entering it into to Mynnette's Inkspirational Color Challenge #10, "Shades of Green."  I think I have about 10 minutes left in this one!

Since I used a scrap to make my plaid bow, I just really eyesed that I can also play with the girls at Pixie's Crafty Snippets - Week 63!  It's always fun to join the shenanigans there!

I arrived safely on Sunday after a four-hour delay in Denver because the potty was clogged on the small jet I was to take for the second half of my trip. I had taken a Benadryl before I flew out of San Francisco to help me sleep since my flight was at dark o'clock in the morning and to help keep my ears from imploding. Well, that's not a problem if I pretty much get off one plane and onto another one where I can sleep off the rest of the Benadryl still in my system.

If that process is interrupted, well, picture a mature woman sitting on a chair, patiently waiting. See the young couple sitting nearby. The young woman turns to her husband and whispers, "Oh, Charles, look, she's like an old man, nodding off sitting straight up in her chair!  I don't know how ... oh, no, oh, shoot, she's tipppping ...!"

Luckily, I caught myself every time and to avoid utter embarrassment, I had to pop up out of my chair every five minutes and shuffle around.   It got a little old into the second hour, lemme tell you!  Boy, was I ever happy to finally be safe in my seat on the plane.  I was out like a light before the pilot ever backed the plane out of the gate!

~~~
We are making huge progress already in staging my sister's home for sale.  We have only peed ourselves from laughing ~ okay, I've lost count already on that front.  I'll just share what caused one such episode.  My sister's kids left a baby crib to be sold at a garage sale, so we decided to use it to stage the third small bedroom as a nursery.  Brilliant, huh?  As mature women completely used to having menfolk around for the putting together of furniture and such, we have had very little no experience with such things.  However, we were on our own, so we had no choice but to tackle the assembly of the crib ourselves.
And we did it!  Having had a martini, we were quite impressed with ourselves.  Still, something didn't look quite right.  It seemed a bit wonky.  One on each side, we inspectigated each leg and the side and the front and back and, well, for heaven's sake, would you look at that!
It turns out what we have thought all these years is true, sister does has a screw loose! Laughing and working hard and getting 'er done!
~~~

I also want to make sure and let you know that just before I left, we had a fun and talented new friend come to play with us!  Please help me welcome Mackie of Mackie Made Paper Creations.  Mackie is a seasoned crafter and blogger, so there's lots to see on her site!  Welcome, Mackie, and thank you so much!!

~~~
Enjoy the rest of your week! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS*!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Playhouse.  Special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment or join as a follower!
Cute cards! I knew you wouldn't stay away for long...even though you are away...does that make sense?
So you have a half Irish Mister...I have a quarter Irish mister...does that count?
Hi Darnell,
Glad you made it safely. I could have made it half way to Denver (driving) during your delay! At least they didn't make you board a stinky plane?!?
Your card is beautiful - but the crib! Let's just say don't put a baby in it... so glad you are having a great time with your sisters.
Hugs,
Kay
Cute card(s) DJ, and very glad to see you've not only arrived but you're having a great time too with your sistahs! Every time I've left San Francisco (all of twice, but still!), it's been dark o'clock. We won't talk about the time I flew from Salt Lake City to Detroit at dark o'clock and went to work straight from the airport! I actually fell off my chair that day in front of a whole office full of people!! So not good!!
Hugs
Sounds like you are already having loads of fun. your tale reminds me when we were taking a boat trip on the river and hubby insisted I took a couple of 'Qualms' (sea sick pills) just in case. Well I never saw any of the trip at all. I was asleep propped up the whole time. The skipper thought I was drunk and it took about 2 days for the wrteched pills to go through my system. Just couldn't stay awake for love nor money!!!! Never again.
Hugs Mrs A.
Stunning card Darnell, and I am so sorry to hear your sister has a screw loose too. You are just too funny and I can just imagine all of you having so much fun. Have a fabulous time!
I start smiling before I even open your e-mails. You really do make a difference in my day!
Beautiful cards. Good thing for us that you can build cards better than cribs, eh? Otherwise, we would be looking at wonky angled embellishments and cards that won't stand up!
Enjoy your vacation :)
Both these cards are cool - I love the vibrancy of the first one and the words on the second one are lovely. Your post had me laughing a lot! Thank you! Have a fab time and good luck with the house staging - stay away from DIY though! xx
Oh Darnell - your post did make me laugh! What a journey - and what wonderful DIY skills you gals (don't) have :)
Love your cards and I too have that Irish saying on a little dish given to me by a friend's Mum many years ago in recognition of me being quarter Irish and therefore allowed to be totally off my trolley at times!
Take care, and have fun!!
Hugs, Di xx
Silly you - I am a half hour from the Denver airport - I'm sure we could have found a spot in a friendly airport bar and actually met in person!!
Are you claiming that only your sister has a screw loose - I'm thinking it might run in the family!!
