ColourQ #170 ~ Your Choice; CFC84 ~ Thank You!

And here we are back around to Friday!  Whoosh!

It's nice to have some favorite challenges up and running again after the holly days.  This week over at Cas-ual Fridays (CFC84), we have a guest designer challenge to make "thank you cards."
And a wonderful sponsor!

May I just say that I love the work done by this guest designer, Geri Greening, of Manitoba Stamper!  She has mahoosive talent, which is an expression my British friends use.  It is way bigger than a moose and way wider than an elephant hive.  Yes, truly, she's that good!!

And this week on ColourQ (#170), we have our choice:

I CASEd the colors of two other blog friends of mine, Royal Court Highnesses, Tracey McNeely, of In My Creative Opinion and Kara of K and R Designs.  These ladies are the embroidment of inspiration and kindness.  Their work is always sweetness and on point and flawless.  This was their palette:
And here is my card:

For the letters I used Stampin Up! alphabet dies.  I turned the "g" upside down to make the "a" stand tall enough to hold a heart.

~~~
Which I had a heck of a time dumploading into my blog.  The "browse" button has disappeared.  I eventually loaded it through Picasa Web Albums "drop box," but it took a lot of clicking this and clicking that and I honestly couldn't even tell you which clickers I used.  Does anyone know what's going on with this?  I hope they fix it soon because I don't know if I could do it again to save me life.  Bloody Blogger.
That's not very nice now is it?  It's only temporary nonice and it's because I've lost my back again.  It's gone out.  Well, naturally it went out between Christmas and New Year's, what back wouldn't?  All those parties and limbo and bingo and beer pong.  Only it's all over now, you see, and mine's not come home.  Has everyone else's?  I've got a call into the Po-Po-You-Lost-It-We-Found-It Department to have an APB put out.  I'm rather limp without it, you can imagine.  Sort of like the "s" in my card.
~~~
Hey, I forgot to tell you up there in the card section, that stripey bit is Washi Tape.  It's my first time using it and I see why everyone gets hooked on the stuff.  The twins discovered it in a drawer in the Playhouse and love it, but from now on they'll be fighting granny for it.

~~~
It's another happy day in the Playhouse as we welcome three more friends!  The word is getting out that you ladies are the best for creative inspiration and downright fun!  Please say a warm hello to:
Christy Q of Schnauzer Crafts Creations
Katina of Katina's Cards and Chat
Danni of Danni's Dream Crafts
The more the merrier!  Now that is one old-timey expression that is still true that!  Thank you so much, ladies, for joining our party!!
Once again, you'll find loads of inspiration in all the above linkies, my friends.
~~~

Tomorrow me and the Mister are off to see a friend who just had hip surgery.  He lives down the road a skosh under two hours, so we'll make a day of it.  I'll bring my new iPad with me so I can still read your comments, visit you and try (oy) to leave you some love on your posts as we drive by!  Make yourselves at home!  I'll be back Sunday or Monday.

~~~
Enjoy your weekend!   No, seriously, enjoy your weekend.
As always, thank you for stopping by to visit.  Special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower or leave a comment!
Paper:  PTI kraft; SU! real read,
Hi Darnell, Love your post as always - really love your card. Glad you commented about my help needed for uploading pix -- I haven't gotten it fixed yet either - I've tried various things suggested (cleaning the cache and cookies - I can see you having a field day with that :) But still no luck. I am also getting slammed with posts in Google reader - stuff from as way back as the beginning of December. Something is wrong in blog world. Well have fun visiting this weekend. Hope you feel better!
Love those big, overlapping letters! This is really fun! And a good reminder that we have not written ours. Any moment now, my lovely (she is, really) MIL will call to say she is wondering if we even received our gifts because she hadn't heard a thank you from us yet. It's a pretty short timeline, but I've taken longer than usual. Enjoy your time with your friend and don't get dizzy using your Ipad in the car!
THat's some very cool washi tape you used, and I love those funky fonts too! That's a great way to say thanks!
I hope your visit will help your friend who had hip surgery, and I hope your back finds it's way back home soon too! Take care!!
Wow, Darnell! This is awesome, I love your card. The hearts and text are card-stoppers! Like you, I'm just discovering the joys that washi tape brings. Santa dropped off a few rolls in my stocking over Christmas.
I sure hope your back makes its way home so you can party like it's 1999 again! :) Enjoy your weekend and your visit with your friend.
BTW, thanks for the awesome shout-out~
Ooh, a new iPad - wow, my Mister got one for Christmas and absolutely adores it. Love your definition of Mahoosive, not a word I have ever used but I quite like it.
Blogger!!! I have had exactly the same problem today, took me well over an hour to do my post and I was not best pleased, I can tell you......
Hope you found your friend well after his op, I really feel for him ....... Take care my friend. Hugs, Annie x
I was so going to combine these 2 challenges as well, picked the same colors but for the card I was working on I couldn't get the pink on it, it looked funny with it.. So all the colors are there except the pink.. I just ended up putting more black it looked better.. Not sure if I will try with a different card, now I have all these bits of pink. You did a great job, love your card..
Hi Dolly,
Love your card ... great use of Washi Tape (I've yet to try it).
I had the same problem with my Blogger ... the browse button was gone when uploading a picture. I resorted to going to the HTLM tab (rather than the compose tab) and adding the link to the photo there. It worked for me. I guess blogger is having issues right now (who isn't??!!) :)
I love those little hearts and the big letters! Have a safe and fun trip. Maybe you can leave the bad back behind and bring back a good one. Hadn't had any problems yet with Blogger. I hope I don't. It's taking me far too long to get anything ready to blog as it is.
Hi Darnell, I enjoyed the reading here as always. But first of all I would like to say that I love your card !!!! Great idea to use the G for A to add the heart. Sorry to hear your back is out (hope it comes back home again). Thanks for all the entertainment & have a great weekend, seriously. Shirleyx
Love this card! Ingenious to use the "g" as an "a". Really adds to the overall fun of the card. As always, an entertaining blog post. I do wish your back recovers soon.
Well I do hope that Blogger has fixed the issue! Love the use of the washi tape, and you are so clever with re purposing the letters. I didn't realize that was an upside down g. I like this card a whole lot! And thanks too for playing at CAS-ual Fridays!
Darnell, Your card is just too cute and so very clever. I really like what you did with your "g", I will have to remember that one. I hope and pray that your back is feeling better very soon. It can't be fun traveling feeling this way. Take care and have a safe trip.
