CAS-ual Fridays 65 ~ Square Card; LIM Week 80 ~ One Layer, Fur or Feathers

Good Monday Morning!

I think we are all going to be suffering from Olympic withdrawal symptoms over the next few days.  There were many, many edge-of-your-seat thrilling moments in the games!  Kudos to GB for being a fantastic host country!!

I made a wee card last night while watching the closing ceremonies, to play along in two awesome challenges.

This week the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays (CFC65) is to make a clean and simple card that is square.
CFC65

The sponsor of this challenge is Stampotique Originals.  The winner of this week's challenge will win a $30 shopping spree to shop Stampotique!!!

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week the challenge at Less Is More is a to create a one-layer card.  In addition, the focus of the card should be:
FUR or FEATHERS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I knew immediately that I had the perfect stamp.  Why not both fur AND feathers?!

This image always brings a smile to my face.  I confess that I'll often answer if someone yells "Polly Anna" in a crowd.  I wish everyone could just get along.  There was too much discord in my childhood, still ringing in my ears, so I can often be found with my head planted firmly in the sand.

Or happily balancing on the middle of the fence, with my fingers in my ears, and my eyes closed.  This was much easier to do when I was younger, let me tell you!  Especially confuzzling to me are religious wars.  Really?  Religious.  Wars.

Sorry.  This is what happens when I read the newspaper before I write my (supposed to be) cheerful blog!  Let's take another look at that kiss and clear our minds for the day ahead:

Mm-waugh!

Enjoy!  As always, thank you for stopping by to visit.   Special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower or leave a comment!

That image is PERFECT for this challenge!! Great job on the coloring too!

I too wish everyone just played well together...unfortunately, we are in the minority on this one I'm afraid. There's lots of people who are SO power hungry, they will do anything and everything they can to obtain power!

~~stepping down off soapbox~~

Have a GREAT day!

Fabulous card as always Darnell and a terrific image.
I agree, we should get along together, lifes far too short.
John Lennon got it spot on with " Imagine" imho.

Lovely! Perfectly positioned and coloured too. And I agree with your content too. Why can't people just be nice to each other? Hugs, Lesley

Adorable - and I love that sentiment - it feels really good to be someone's treasure, doesn't it?

Hi Darnell, I wish people could be nicer to each other too, but I have to say that so far all the bloggers I have 'met' are wonderful. So sad that the Olympics are over...........your card today is absolutely gorgeous, I love it to bits, it looks like House Mouse to me. Gorgeous. Crafty hugs, Anne x

Great card, great thoughts too! I loved all the special moments we witnessed at the Olympics, except for the finale at the closing ceremony. They put on a great show, and then before the very last finale, CBS aired a 1-hr preview of a new comedy show in their fall lineup, and THEN at midnight showed the finale act! What the?!?! I don't get that and I couldn't stay up to watch it that late. I thought that was ridiculous and shameless to promote a new show in the midst of such a special event! 2 big thumbs down for CBS!!!
OK, now I'll step down from my soapbox too :)

If everyone looked at this card every morning first thing, the world would be a better place. Mm-waugh to you too!

Well, from one Olympic addict to another, I am not sure I could stay up many more days! (they were over at 1am where I live) and work came way too early! You know how I love the meeces and especially love the CAS look of this card! ♥ Sue Kment

I have a teensy version of this image! Unless of course your card is 3x3, in which case it's probably the same size. Anyhow.
Perfect sentiment to go with - and wouldn't it be nice if everyone could just agree to disagree & respect it? I too prefer to have my head in the sand - it's quieter there, and I can hear myself think. Not that it's a good thing, but anyhow.

Hi Darnell, I very nearly used my house mouse stamps, they are very special! Love your card, it's such a sweet image. You made it gorgeous, super colouring and the perfect sentiment xxx

Who's a clever girl then, using both.
Super card. Love the stamped image and you've coloured it perfectly. Great job! x

What a sweet card. You hit the mark on the challenge with this one...covered both bases. I have this little stamp. Must hunt it up, and use it after seeing your creation. TFS.

This is so sweet! Perfect image for your challenges and, yes, I too wish we could all get along. I do believe Jesus said He was the only way, but He also told Peter to put away his sword!

Oh this is so sweet Darnell, this stamp was one of the ones I got cheap on Ebay a couple of weeks ago, I've yet to use it though.

This is soooooo sweet ~ LOVE the image, and your coloring as well, and you used both fur and feathers ~ this is definitely a winner! So sad to say that the mass murder at the Sihk temple last week was so close to where I work, that we were on standby alert waiting for the victims. Truthfully I read more blogs than news lately because it is so depressing! Yours is always a highlight!
