WOYWW #165

Happy Hello to all WOYWWIES and NON.

You're all WOWie to me, my dears, but some of you play over at Julia's fun Stamping Ground in an extra ordinary game called, "What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday."  Some of you just peek in the windows and that's perfectly okay.  We won't call the coppers.   In our childhood days, we played "you show me yours and I'll show you mine."  But here in WOYWWzerville, we will show you ours even if you don't want to show us yours.  We're fresh like that.

I took lots of pictures, big surprise.  The difference is I won't chat a lot to make up for it.  As you know I have Organized Craft Disorder.  Disease.  Take your pick.  As I've been playing in the Playhouse the last few weeks, I could feel that old familiar tickle creeping up the back of my neck.  My Third Eye was noticing that me (yes, me) and the twins have all gotten a little too lazy about putting stamps back in with their assigned foster families.

I had to put a stop to it.  Today was the day.

Before:

After:

The drawers got cleaned out, too, of course.  I found out I still have a little room to grow!  I wonder if I'll evolve to only clear stamps down the road?  I've become quite fond of my little wooden buddies over the years, especially after I discovered the Stamp-a-ma-jig!  BTW, you might ask, Where are my clear stamps?   Ah, geez, whadya have to bring them up for?  I'll tackle them another day.

One of my online friends said I made her feel better once she saw my place and realized that she wasn't the only one with an "art store addiction!"   The truth is that most of my stamps have been purchased at garage sales, or stamp store swap meets, or from friends who have quit the hobby, or (sadly) from a dear neighbor who passed away.  And I've been stamping for over ten years, so that's a long time to be acquiring my stash.

Speaking of addictions, I'm going to have myself a little vodka now that my OCD is under control for the time being and snoop around your place to see what addictions you have up your sleeves!

Enjoy!   As always, thank you for stopping by to visit.   Special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower or leave a comment!

Great job organizing all the little errant stamps. Now that they have been corralled and put in the right paddock, you can play. I will be waiting to see what you create this week!

Wow that is very organised, I love organisation and being able to find the right thing just where you were expecting it to be brings a little smile to the lips. Hubbie commented yesterday on my distress inks and that they all have to be facing the same direction and are in colour families, lightest to darkest, he thinks i like organising more than crafting lol. Hugs, Amanda x

Wowzers Darnell, what a transformation! Yours is the second desk I have visited where a major tidy up has taken place - I must do mine too, don't like feeling left out - lol. I thought I had a lot of wooden stamps but you beat me, hands down. Gold medal for you my dear, I will just have to settle for silver.......can you tell I am enthralled by all things Olympic? I miss wood mounted stamps. I don't care how much room they take...they are still easier to store and they work better. *stamps foot*!! Uber impresed at your investment of time...but you gotta do something to stop that creeping feeling, huh!!

Alright girl you were very, very, very bad, but now you are a good girl. LOL That is one humongous effort and it deserves the vodka on the rocks, straight up, how ever it makes you happy. Me I took all my wooden stamps off the blocks years ago and put them onto easymount and CD boxed them and catalogued them all. Best thing I ever did. Your system works keep at it. Happy crafting this week, I am proud of you. LOL

There is just something about red rubber mounted on a wooden block that brings peace to the soul! Great organization! Glenda 93

You remind me that I need to do the same thing. I usually find time in the summer to organize myself, but this year, it's going by too fast!

What a fun post, Darnell! I really enjoyed reading it, and your brilliant turn of phrase! I don't do a lot of stamping but have got rid of all the wooden blocks - any I had, I unmounted and put on EZ mount foam. I don't like clear stamps at all! You are very organised, and I love all your shelves and cupboards and pretty coloured drawers!

Thanks for your lovely comment - glad you enjoyed my subject matter this week! As for inserting stuff into blogs, as long as it's exported as an image, you can put it in. I use Serif PagePlus for all my layouts - things like card inserts, printable sentiments, stuff like that. So easy to manipulate and move things around till you're happy with it.

You said: But here in WOYWWzerville, we will show you ours even if you don't want to show us yours. We're fresh like that.

And I laughed until I snorted. We -are- fresh like that.

I applaud your OCD Organized Art Disease. I wish a little would rub off on me. It is nice when everything has its place and is in its place. It makes for picking up and finding things again easier. Of course there is a lot to be said about a big fat mess too. It is like Christmas when you discover lost treasures in it. Definitely you have room to grow. Better start shopping now!

Hi Darnell,

I love those colored drawers!!! And look at all the stamps. I feel so much better!!!!

I would like to be more organized but since I don't have a dedicated craft space I'm using that as an excuse. Oh, but that should make me be more organized.... well, there went that theory.

Happy WOYWW

It's red rubbah all the way for me too.... although I do have quite a number of clings and clears, there's something so satisfying about handling the wood block. Your stamp drawers are awesome, definitely more room to expand. Me? I'm almost out of space and according to my hubster I'm not getting any more storage either! Hope he likes sleeping in the garage is all I have to say to that!
