A site for my handmade cards, accompanied by my photos and written meanderings which are occasionally witty, often tongue-in-cheek, and rarely profound. Beginning in June 2013, you'll also see lots of NBUS, which is an acronym I coined for Never-Before-Used-Schtuff. Note: my Privacy Policy can be found at a tab below and you can find my NBUS Challenge online. I hope you'll join in the fun there! Thanks for coming by! Have a beverage and enjoy!

NBUS RULES

NBUS stands for Never-Before-Used Schtuff. (For the history see this tab above.)
  • You MUST use a NBUS item on your creation and tell us what it is. It doesn't matter if it's old or new, although that old virginal schtuff would really  like some attention!
  • The theme is "Anything Goes!"
  • You MUST be a follower* over there to your right on my side bar where all the little smiling faces are! Please don't follow just for the goodies cuz that's not fair to others.
  • Cut and paste the NBUS button above into your post or on your side bar. Include a link back to the challenge post
  • Please enter only four other challenges, in addition to this one, for a total of five.
  • You may enter up to three times. New work only, please.
  • Link up your creation using the InLinkz button at the bottom of the challenge post in the usual way. NEW: If you have two or three cards in one post, you can now add them all to the InLinkz button by adding a ? followed by a number. For instance, ?1 ?2, etc. This fools InLinkz into thinking it's a new URL!
  • See below for more information.
  • HAVE FUN!!
If you need instructions on how to do any of the above or have any other questions, please email me at darnell dot knauss at gmail dot com.Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

Who Can Play?

Followers. *Since this challenge is meant as a thank you to my followers, you must be a follower on my side bar. The advantage of clicking the blue "Join This Site" button is that once I see you there, I will introduce you and your blog to my other readers, which lets people know about your blog. (It is okay to both follow and subscribe to a blog.)

Non-Bloggers. There are also a lot of you who don't have blogs, but you are faithful readers and some of you leave comments or email me. I would like you to participate in the challenge, too, if you like. You can create a free Flickr account and upload your photo there, or through Splitcoaststampers. Once you follow their easy directions to upload your card, you copy the URL and then enter it through the InLinkz button below. I understand that it will not be possible for participants who use Flickr or SCS to post my button.

Email. If you don't want to do either of those things and you just want to email me a picture of your card, that works, too! I want to include everyone! If you feel left out, or have alternative suggestions, or questions, please email me and let me know. (darnell dot knauss at gmail dot com.)

I'm grateful to you for being there, no matter how you access my blog!

Commenting:

I'm not going to police you, so this isn't a "rule," but I would appreciate it if you would comment on at least three other entries, preferably names that you don't recognize. When you go to their blog to comment, click to follow them while you're at it. It's a free random act of kindness that will make someone's day! And if someone follows you, follow them back, like your mama taught you.

Mwah!

Hi Darnell, I just found your fun challenge through another card maker but I see that I will need to post your badge with a link with my card. I don't have a blog and so have to use Flickr and am checking to see if linking through Flickr without posting the badge is okay? Thanks! I have a LOT of NBUS in my stash (hanging my head in shame)

Can we hand-deliver our card to you with some homemade cookies or hamster food? LOL....Don't you just wish!!!! Ha. Hey, maybe I should have that kind of promotion on my blog. I have some neighbors that are wonderful cooks. :)

I'm glad my pal Karen is joining in your NBUS#2!

Hi Darnell, I am so going to try and join you on this, this year. I have so many stamps that have never set eyes on an inkpad its a joke. Dies that have never been near a piece of paper/cardstock. We all know the story, lol. Maybe this will give me the kick up the butt I need! Hugs, Shaz xxx

Hi Darnell. I think Hammy jumped ship temporarily and is rolling his wheel around in my head. I tried to copy and paste your NBUS badge into my post on SCS and I don't seem to know how to do it. I just want to apologize. I'll try to do it correctly next time. :)

I popped back into craftland just in time. And YAY for the time change. I have to vacate my house next weekend because it will be Open House so I might just grab a box of goodies and play along.

I wanted to let you know that I sent you an email just a bit ago. It is from grneyes172 email address if you are wondering if it is spam.

Hope you are well and love the card.

PS: Staging ... good one. I need to use that in the future. :)
