A site for my handmade cards, accompanied by my photos and written meanderings which are occasionally witty, often tongue-in-cheek, and rarely profound. Beginning in June 2013, you'll also see lots of NBUS, which is an acronym I coined for Never-Before-Used-Schtuff. Note: my Privacy Policy can be found at a tab below and you can find my NBUS Challenge online. I hope you'll join in the fun there! Thanks for coming by! Have a beverage and enjoy!

Note Cards - Easy Peasy

I'm not posting a link to a challenge this morning (although I'm sure there is one out there somewhere that my cards would be appropriate for!).  I wanted to share a series of simple note cards I have made to send daily inspirational quotes to a dear friend who is going through chemo.  I first made one of these back in December for a OLW challenge.  It was so easy and so charming that I decided to make several.

With the distress inks available now, some of the backgrounds on these cards look like I stamped/distressed them.  I did not, which is what makes these so easy.  The card itself is simply cut from a K & Co 12 x 12 background paper.  I know from my stacks of background paper from K & Co and DCWV that there are several other papers that could be substituted.  I simply stamped the hat (from Rubber Stampede), outlined the lines on it with a Stardust clear pen, and applied the flower or brad embellishments.  I hope you are inspired to make a few easy, CAS note cards.

Well, there must be some trick someone knows for getting photos to be in columns or at least side-by-side, easily.  I've spent cruds more time than I expected.  I didn't want to have the post go on and on, yet I did want to show several ideas.  Waugh.  I'll go put another coat of paint on the deck and that will work out my frustrations!

Edit:  Thanks to "CraftyChris" below, I followed-up and found the "collage" button via Picasa and it couldn't be easier.  I'm sure there are ways to finesse the photos better than I did, but it's good enough to give you the idea of the cards without using all that space and the time it takes trying to put two cards side-by-side.  Thanks again, Chris!!

Until next time, be well.  Thanks for visiting!

Enjoy!

Love the little embellishments. As for lining up photos, I haven't figured it out yet - Blogger is really easy, until you want to do something slightly different or original! I keep thinking I may take a web design course....
