I hope this finds you well wherever you are! So many storms, floods, and fires.
We had a grass fire only two miles from us last week that scorched a thousand acres. It was scary, smoky, and the acrid smell is still in the air days later. Considering it was such a small fire, I cannot imagine how terrifying and awful it is near the huge wildfires in France, Spain, Italy, and in many America states. Keep safe, my friends. Praying for those impacted and for all the brave firefighters, farmers, and individuals helping in ways large and small.🙏🫶

This week is A = Anything Goes on the I.D.E.A.S. Calendar. Whoop! I wanted to play with the Eclipse technique at the newly reopened CAS Mix-Up Challenge. It's also known as Hidden Words, or as I like to call it, Camel Flodged.🐪I haven't done this technique for quite a while and it was great fun!

This sweet NBUS image is called, "Birthday Presents Wrapping Paper" from Your Next Stamp. The NBUS happy script word die is from The Greetery. I stamped the image in black and colored the presents in red in order to play in the Color Hues Challenge.
I liked the idea that this could be an all-purpose card, but after wards, I decided it needed a second word. I looked through all my word dies, and now I have car pool tunnel but nothing fit the area, so I made another card instead! Go me!

This image is NBUS from Spellbinders called, "Christmas Florals and Sentiments." It consists of five stencils and made me question again why I don't stencil more often? I find it very relaxing. The word die is from GKW. The berry nipples are blobs of Lawn Fawn schparkle glaze. (Have I said how much I miss Hammy and Stanley!)
The Eclipsing technique works perfectly for those large pretty images you have which you hate to cover over with a greeting.
To give the design a little extra nubbiness, I popped the tripled image over a panel embossed with a Park Lane e/f called, "Holly Berry." I also miss having a Jo-Ann Store. Actually I miss all of the stamping stores that used to be in my community. And the sweet ladies who ran them. I sound old. Well, duh.
Playing in: 52 Christmas Card Throwdown (Stencilling); Rudolph Days (A/G Christmas); Jingle Belles (Colors: Unicorn Holiday); Inkspirational (Word Prompt: Christmas in July); and Just Us Girls (A/G Stencil Week). This Eclipse card won't go in the CAS Mix-Up Challenge because there is no stamping. However, because there is no stamping, it can go in "N = No Stamping" challenge over at the ABC Christmas!

I love that technique, although it can make you a little cross-eyed if you stare too long. I tried it recently on b/w stripe pattern. Now that really makes you dizzy.
What fabulous cards and you are so organised . I seem to make all cards last minute these days loved the little coloured parcels and the die use was fab . As for less shops I know and it doesn’t make you old ,just online takes over !!!!
You certainly showed how versatile this technique can be on any card, Darnell. Your package cards are darling and your Christmas florals is beautiful. So happy you joined us at Color Hues. As for the Fires, scary to have one that close to you. Certainly happy to hear it wasn't worse. I don't watch the news for obvious reasons, but I did hear about all the fires around the world and here in the US. It is getting really, really scary! I worry about that in California this year, I certainly hope you do not have a bad season. Praying! Take care!

Three wonderful cards, PLUS two for your Christmas stash - hallelujah! All three are pretty magnificent, Darnell!
Excelling Camel Flodging. Not flogging. We don't want people to think you are flogging camels. The 2nd card took me a little bit to make sure I was reading what the sentiment said so it the technique worked well. I, too, miss JoAnn's. The bargains I got on name brand items was amazing. As far as being old goes, you're in good company. I'm not saying you're old. Kinda. [Bunny]
Like you, I'm old enough to remember not one, but three independent stamp stores here. For a long time, there was one left in Buffalo and a couple of us would wander there for goodies and lunch out. It's also gone, now, but when I check to see if that was correct I discovered that it's being revived under a new name. I've never tried the eclipse technique, but you've produced a lovely group of cards with it! It's always fun to see a card from you in the gallery at Color Hues! Thanks for sharing with us.

I'm always thinking of my friends who are closer to the fires. So far we're fine here on the coast, but inland we do have friends in harm's way. I hope you can stay safe! You know... I think those presents could make a cute Christmas card, too. I love how you've also used the eclipse technique on your Christmas card, as well, and embossed the background. Stencils sure have come a long way. I love your funny this week! Sheesh. I called Rich in to look at it 'cuz you know how old people feel about caps worn backwards.

Like you, I miss JoAnn's also and the other craft stores that have closed. Thankful the fire didn't come any closer to you. Prays for all those affected by the fires and the ones having to fight them.

Hi Darnell, three gorgeous cards, love the birthday card, eclipse cards are great fun and always well received. Bunny commented above about flogging camels, here in Australia we are flogging (selling) camels to parts of the Middle East, they were introduced to Australia by Camaliers who used to trade in desert areas, when train lines were built the camels were not needed and were let go, the feral camels are rounded up and exported.

A great selection of eclipse cards - this is such a versatile technique
Three fun cards Darnell. These large fires are scary, on Satuirday I went in the garden at lunchtime and the air was rank with acrid smoke. We've had a few hay fires and the moors have been blazing these last few weeks but we couldn't work out where the smoke was coming from. A friend on the other side of the hill rang to ask if we knew what it was, then he notioced plumes of black smoke in the distance. Later we discovered it was a reignited moorland blaze near Flint, N Wales. Keep safe. :)

I think we should make two cards each time while we have products out so these are perfect. Your stenciled card is so cheerful and colorful and makes us Be Merry. I miss all the stamp stores too. We only have one stamp store here in town and it's not close. We still have Michael's and Hobby Lobby. All my shopping is online now. (Like I need to shop).
I don't know why we don't use the eclipse technique more often. I love the effect. I am so glad that it has been revived and have enjoyed seeing all the examples. These are both great and very different. I have such anxiety about all the fires and the damage they must be doing in so many different ways. I really hope we get our act together about climate change soon xx

Sorry to hear you've had a large grass fire so close to you. It must have been pretty scary. It's been really hot and dry here for quite a few weeks, and all the fields are scorched, but thankfully no problems with fires. I really feel for all those experiencing wildfires and losing their homes.

Darnell, the package cards are just a delight in red and black, plus the eclipse die cut sentiments are always so fun! Thank you for playing along with us at Color Hues. I can imagine how frightening it was to have that grass fire so close! Here in SW Idaho, the fires haven't been close to where I live, but the ones in Oregon have lovingly sent all their smoke this way, so we've been socked with in smoky skies and really bad air quality for a week.
