More Spring Tulips!

Hello Stamplings!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend/holiday as we whoosh around to another Monday! We enjoyed having family and friends with lots of delicious food and laughter. Nellie was in dog heaven, hoovering up any bits that were crumbed to the floor!

Today I have a quick share, using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar. This is the third Monday of April (and Happy Birthday to my big sister Diana!🎂) and the prompt is E= Emblossing.

I used this "Layered Tulip" die from Waffle Flower a few weeks ago and at that time I cut a couple of extra flowers. They were intended for Easter cards, which didn't happen in time, so I used embossing folders and made two spring birthday card designs instead, painting the flowers with my Ziggies.

Onefer
This one features an embossing folder that is new to me, sent to me by a friend as a card protector with her card, so I don't know who makes it. I lightly blended CP inks over it in pastel spring colors before popping on the painted tulip and the sediment. The fishtail banner is from PTI.

It's hard to see, but the lads winked the entire tulip. Poor critters, they pull such long faces when they see the photos, confused because on the camera screen (and in real life), the schparkle from the winking is blinding, but it goes missing when the photos get to the gallery. Er?ðŸ˜ķI reassure them that the same thing happens to all of us. Then I put on their "Hammy the Hamster" (Bubbles/The Monster) DVD and they're good again.

Challenges

Just Us Girls: Moodboard. I was inspired by the colors.
The Flower Challenge: Spring flowers.
Twofer

This very QACAS design using the second painted tulip features Craft Concepts "Stately" e/f. I used hammered card, three gold balls, and a partridge sediment strip from Memory Box. Ba-boom!

Challenges

Krafty Chicks: CAS.
Little Red Wagon: Birthday

I.D.E.A.S. Calendar: E = Emblossing

Thank you so much to everyone who shared their designs last week! Mwah!

In honor of Earth Day tomorrow, I'm leaving you with a bouquet of irises from the front yard of our neighbor George.

Two stunning cards once more Darnell - I fully sympathize with you and the 'boys' on the winking not showing in photos - sooooo frustrating.
Enjoy your Ham samitch

What beautiful CAS designs--that tulip is gorgeous! And what a good idea to use an embossed panel as a card protector. I've never been that creative, but I have an envelope of pre-embossed panels that would certainly work--especially when sending cards to fellow crafters! Have a great week! Finding your blog post on Monday mornings is always a great way to start the day!

That tulip is GORGEOUS, Dolly! The details and texture along with your coloring make two beautiful spring cards. Happy Birthday to Diana!

Your cards are beautiful, Darnell, and tell the kids that I think I see of hint of schparkle so they'll be happy the rest of the day! Pretty, marbly tulips, and the different textures are unique and wonderful too. BTW love the iris -- we have an iris heaven here for a month or more due to different varities but we love them all!

Two absolutely beautiful cards Darnell!! Michele had let me play with her WF Tulip dies just a few weeks back, and I don't know how I ever missed seeing them before, but I think I need to have a set living at my house! You colored them both beautifully, and tell the boys I struggle with getting sparkle to show up on my cards too...they are NOT alone!! Thanks so much for sharing with us at The Flower Challenge!! Hugs. :0)

George is mighty lucky I don't live next door - a midnight run for those Irises would be too tempting for me - LOL!

I wish I could grow tulips that look like yours! They look so pretty against all that dimensional embossing. I love embossing, so if I don't forget (I'm old. It happens.), I'll join in this week. Happy Spring to you and yours.

Love LOVE how you colored these tulips! Please tell the kids I'm sorry the winking doesn't show in the photo, but it does happen to all of us. I've seen their winking with my own eyes in real life and I know what a fabulous job they do with it.

Hi Darnell... and a big thanks for always dropping by my blog and sharing encouraging comments..... I so enjoy popping to your blog - you're always positive and they're fun to read. Your cards are lovely this week and I'm impressed you use your little extras - like the tulip flowers you made a few weeks ago.... I often cut/stamp extras but then they end up in a box and I forget to use them... so note to self 'search out alllll those images you have already on hand'. Have a fabulous week, hugs Robyn

p.s. I had a peek at your playhouse and wow it is gorgeous. I bet you are dragged out of there lol!

Both your tulip cards are so beautiful Dolly! Love the mix of colours ... they are so bright and cheerful. xx

Beautiful tulips on these two cards and with some wonderful colouring too Darnell. What a great idea of a friend to emboss this and use it to protect the card which was sent and now you have put it to great use as a background and the added bright pink sentiment banner and the three sweet differently coloured gems make lovely finishing touches. I love the elegant embossed frame around the pretty tulip on the second and the gold sentiment strip and gold pearls are perfect embellishments. What wonderful irises growing in your neighbours garden, although they come in quite a few colours I think the purple and yellow is by far the loveliest. x

Absolutely beautiful. I was in Washington last year visiting one brother and the another brother came from CA. We visited a Tulip farm that had over 1 million flowers. It was the most beautiful sight to see all those tulips blooming. I'll never forget it. My brother from CA purchased some of the tulips and planted them. The bloomed earlier this month and oh what a beautiful sight in his yard. Thank for the trip down memory lane.
