Hello Stamplings!
I hope you are enjoying October, so far, whether you are seeing the leaves turn autumnal colors or they are just budding out in spring greens. I think I've mentioned before that I'm a Leaf Person and, of course, that includes trees. If you had to pick one stamp/die set ~ one being flowers and the one leaves, which would you levitate towards?
Having said that, I do love flowers and I'm posting two today! This is D = Die Cuts on the I.D.E.A.S. Calendar.
Onefer
This set is called, "Rising Wildflowers," by Pinkfresh Studio. When I first purchased it, the die wasn't available. As soon as it was, I got it and last week I had fun stenciling fall colors onto the dies. The background coverplate die called, "Diamond Delight" is also from Pinkfresh Studio. The "Pointed Rectangle Frame" is from Poppystamps and the vertical birthday stamp is from Stamps by Judith.
Playing in: A Cut Above (A/G with a die-cut); Beautiful Blossoms (Anything Floral Goes); and Mix It Up (A/G; option: Embossing).
Twofer
I love poinsettia images and have so many. Even so, I found one that was NBUS! And since I haven't used silver embossing in ages, I went with that. For the border, I silver-embossed the "Holiday Border Cling Background" stamp from The Ton. It's an all-around-border, but I wanted only one side, so I cut it and got two cards out of it! I used a silver metallic strip to edge the image.
The NBUS poinsettia is from "Up Goes the Tree" from Penny Black. I die-cut and added another poinsettia to the back and popped it up to make it more fulsome. Another word I've always wanted to use in a sentence.
I liked the CAS design just as it was and because it's obviously a Christmas card, I decided to be a rebel and not add a sediment! The above photo doesn't capture the beautiful shine, so I took a closeup.
Playing in: CAS Christmas (Poinsettia); Krafty Chicks (Christmas); and Merry Little Christmas (Anything Christmas Goes).

Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!* As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse!
The Mister is home from his motorcycle tour! Everything was wonderful and he had a blast! Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes!

Gorgeous vibrant flowers and a beautiful shiny silver poinsettia - both lovely to see on a rainy Monday morning. Pleased to hear that your Mister has returned safely from his adventure and that he had a good time.
ReplyDeleteLoving both of today's makes, Darnell and hope you and the Mister are keeping well
ReplyDeleteKathyk
Both cards are beautiful, Darnell xoxo
ReplyDeleteYay! Happy to hear the Mister came home safe and sound and that he had a great time. Whew! Your cards are very pretty, Darnell. I love flowers to look at, but I'm not very good at coloring them or making them shine, so I would probably lean toward the leaves if I absolutely had to choose. Your two cards here are absolutely lovely! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteBoth are lovely but I do love that silver one. Love the simplicity!
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell and hope you're enjoying your week..... you've been busy making two lovely cards - that first is so bright and cheerful .. I too am a lover of flowers and leaves - I've been displaying the fallen colourful croton leaves on my back step. Glad hubby had an enjoyable trip... hugs, Robyn
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Kevin returned home safely! I imagine this trip was extra meaningful. Your rising flowers are so pretty! I love those bright fallish colors and the die cut background! The simplicity of the silver embossing on your poinsettia is so elegant! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are lovely--as usual, and I'm surprised that I don't think I've ever seen that PFS stencil and die set. The silver poinsettia must be especially beautiful in real life--no photo really captures the shine. Also very happy to hear Kevin is home and had a fabulous trip! What a recovery!
ReplyDeleteThose tall flowers are magnificent. Wish I was as tall, thin and beautiful! he he
ReplyDeleteI love the effects of heat-embossing. It makes a card special: i.e., non-cardmakers are unable to say, "Well, ANYONE could do THAT!"
Both are beautiful cards that brightened my day.
Two super cards, Darnell! The leaves are changing, have changed!
ReplyDeleteBut not so much here in the Niagara Peninsula! Looking out my
window my neighbour's tree has yellow leaves and most of the others are still a green shade!!!
Gorgeous daffodil card, very striking with your colors and the background, your second card is very elegant with the silver embossing!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad the motorcycle trip was all it should be and I'm sure Kevin was glad to be back on the open road while you stayed home and made some wonderful cards. The rising flowers in fall colors look fantastic, Darnell, and the simplicity of the silver embossing made a beautiful poinsettia card.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours on your first card and that lovely silver shine on the second. I don't think I can pick just one stamp or die set. An impossible ask xx
ReplyDeletePretty flowers, beautiful leaves, I love them both. Speaking of, both cards are delightful!
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful bright flowers on the first Darnell, and the pierced background with the diamond design goes brilliantly, and the matching green pierced frame and vertical sentiment are perfect finishing touches. Your second Christmas make is terrific with the silver embossed poinsettias and foliage, and then the outline silver embossed poinsettia added over the top..wonderfully CAS. Glad The Mister had a great time on his motorcycle tour. x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous florals on this card design! I love the colors and the background is amazing. Thanks for sharing with the October Challenge at A Cut Above.
ReplyDeleteI drove home today and enjoyed seeing the leaves of the trees here slowly changing color... Some trees where yellow and braun on top and stil fresh green at the bottum; ut looks so special at the moment...
ReplyDeleteBut I like your flowers! The poinsetta is elegant but the first one is stunning! Hugs, Gerrina
Both cards are lovely Darnell, the yellow florals are so cheerful. Thanks for joining us at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge, and we hope you'll play again soon

Darnell, first, thank you for playing along with us at CAS Christmas with your beautiful silver embossed stamp set! And how wonderful to get two cards out of the border image. I love your other yellow flower card and vertical sentiment too!
ReplyDeleteSo relieved to hear the Mister is home safe and sound and has had a wonderful time!!
ReplyDeleteYour cards, are as ever, stunning, but the silver one with the fulsome poinsettia is the most stunningest of the two - yes, sometimes I can make up words too :) I love solver embossing, and yours is exquisite
Blessings
Maxine
What a pretty set you treated yourself too and you had fun with it - great! The outcome is certainly so pretty to look at. Your silver card is a wonderful design merging CAS with the patterned border.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Darnell, I am in love with your poinsettia card, it looks like a simple design but it is stunning.
ReplyDeleteFirst off - I would choose flowers. :-) Your cards are amazing, Darnell!! The silver one is just stunning! So glad The Mister had an awesome time and that he made it back safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful and vibrant card with the gorgeous floral arrangements, lovely poinsettias and great design Darnell xx
ReplyDeleteI love flowers and leaves. The fall color is amping up just now, so the leaves are currently in first place! Terrific cards, Darnell. So happy to have you playing at CAS Christmas. Glad the Mister had a good time and is home safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fall colours for your wild flowers, Dolly. I always enjoy stenciling on flowers and am so happy more and more of those are available. Beautiful and elegant Christmas card in silver. The shine is so lovely and that poinsettia stands out against the beautiful embossed border. Great work, my friend. So happy Mister is home safe and had a wonderful trip! xx
ReplyDeleteI love those bright, pretty flowers! I couldn't choose one over the other -- leaves or flowers -- I'm nuts about both. Now you've got me wondering... What a gorgeous background stamp for your Christmas card! I know how that shine is IRL. Photos of any card can never compare with the real deal. I've held off on getting any new PB stamps for a while, but it was the poinsettias from the Christmas release that caught my eye. This one looks so pretty with your background. It's a relief to have The Mister home and safe!
ReplyDeleteDarnelle, your Poinsettia card is so elegant and white and silver is so classy. thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas
ReplyDeleteNothing like a glittery silver card for Christmas methinks, love the design and the poinsettia. x
ReplyDeleteDarnell, what a beautiful, elegant poinsettia card in silver embossing. Thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stenciled flowers on card one and I love your embossed poinsettia, Darnell - so elegant!!
