Cheers! Joy!

Hello Stamplings!

Quick! Come in! Welcome inside from the triple digit temps we are having for a week! I'm not complaining because I know many of my European and American friends suffered with extreme heat for a lot longer this past summer.🫠And we are blessed to have air conditioning.

And, hey, it's October! We've made our way through ten cars on this twelve-car train called 2026! As it's the first Monday of this month's journey, the I.D.E.A.S. Calendar is I=Ink, so I revisited a couple of my favorite inky techniques.

Onefer
The leafy panel was made by smooching a NBUS Watercolor Resist Paper from Spellbinders into a pool of fall colored Lindy Magicals watercolor powders. Hammy and Stanley took turns manning (?) the spritzer pump to create just the right pool consistency for smooching the leafy resist paper.

Then the fun continued when they donned their fluffy slippers and polished the panel after it was dry, which made the glossy leaves shine. You can see in the upper portion where it looks like the ink didn't cover well, but that's actually the schparkle magic that happens when you use Lindy's Magicals!

I added die-cut leaves from SSS ("Lush Leaves") cut from glossy paper to keep the shine going and the die-cut sediment is from The Ton ("Easy Expressions Birthday").

Playing in: Color Hues (Amber and Burnt Red [two Clairol colors I tried out back in the '70s!👱🦰]); AAA Birthday (Big and Bold); and Little Red Wagon (Autumn Colors).

Twofer
I'm panicking a bit realizing that I have to mail my overseas Christmas cards in November and this train isn't stopping because I'm way behind. Gulp. But you do what you can and everyone is in the same boat. Erm, train. (I can't keep up with my own Ana Logies.)

The pretty pine cone image is from a NBUS red rubber stamp from Prickly Pear ("Pinecone ATC"). I colored it direct-to-stamp with markers, spritzed, and then stamped it on watercolor paper. There is a lined rectangle frame that's part of the image, but it didn't ink well. Then I biffed it further when I tried to draw it with my ruler and a marker, so I covered all that mess with a dark green pierced frame from Papertrey Ink. Then I added a mat of corduroy dusty coral paper to add even more dementia and interest. After flipping a carrot, Stanley had the pleasure of adding the heart punctuation.

Playing in: Addicted to Stamps and More (Christmas); and Snippets Playground (all snippets were used for the image, frame, and mat).

~~~
Enjoy your week! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse!
I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit and comment very often. I've been dealing with pain down my left leg since March. First, we checked the hip, next we checked the knee, and next I also developed something unpleasant called 'drop foot' on my right side. (At least now I list to both sides evenly, lol!) It turns out to be a compressed nerve in my back and I'm waiting for a date to start physical therapy, so hopefully things can decompress soon.
I'm thankful I can still manage to make a couple of cards and a post once a week and I'm thankful for your kind visits to me even when I don't reciprocate as often as I'd like.❤️
Mwah!
*Life is too short!
  8. Your smooching is gorgeous, Dolly! I'm loving those colors and how the leaves pop on that background! And what a beautiful way to use the Amber and Burnt Red! I'm loving the little borders of Christmas pine cones and greenery with a bit of snow to adorn it! I'm starting to hyperventilate when I realize how close Christmas is. Time sure flies!
  12. Both cards are amazing! The magicals did their magic, plus the complimentary paper and dies made this card a Fall wonder. The pinecone stamp is amazing, so detailed and beautiful. I happen to love your bold green frame, which really accents the pinecones and additional fall beauty. Well done.
    As for yourself, take care, make cards when you can, and let your body heal!
  13. Your "Magical" card is gorgeous, Darnell. The color is bright and beautiful and the white leaves are a wonderful accent. I have yet to count how many Christmas cards I have but I'd better get on the ball...um train, if I need more. Yours is lovely and what great control you had of the markers and spritzer. Physical therapy will work wonders and if you have a place to go, I recommend warm water therapy. Our local YMCA has classes every morning and now that I'm back in Ohio, I go three times a week.
  14. That's a gorgeous fall card and I'll have to look up Watercolor Resist paper. It sounds like an oxymoron, seeing as how you made such a beautiful Magicals watercolor background with it. Your Christmas card just goes to show how an "oops" can step up to the next level of fabulous. I love the frame and mat, but most of all that gorgeous stamp. That's some very fine inking and spritzing, Darnell! That's no fun about your back, dang it! Several years ago I suffered from that two Octobers in a row. It was then that I realized it was because of all the bulb planting that time of year. I don't do that anymore, at least not in the quantity as before. The foot drop was the strangest sensation. I hope yours resolves quickly.
  16. Two beautiful card, my sweet friend. LOVE the gorgeous colours of Lindy's Magicals. I can only imagine the shimmer and shine. :) The emboss resist leaves are so pretty and I always love when the image is buffed to expose the gorgeousness underneath. It's like opening a present. :) The design is amazing with the split panels and the red adds to the boldness of the design, along with the lovely large leaf die-cut. Perfection!! You are on a roll. I LOVE your gorgeous watercolour spritz Christmas image adding the two borders with your bold joy in-between. Love the framing with the dark green and coral. The heart adds a special touch to a fantastic design! xx
  20. The first card is a stunner! Every time I see someone use the Lindy Magicals powders I think I'll look into them. Not that I need one more thing for my collections. I love the Christmas card, and like many mistakes, your solution is wonderful--and I bet even more lovely than the original. So sorry to hear about the pain. Chronic pain is so exhausting! Hope the PT starts soon and provides some relief in a hurry!
  21. Oh, Darnell, two gorgeous cards! I LOVE the one for CH in my challenge colors. Those Lindy's powders are great fun and your embossed panel is just a wonderful mix of fall colors, enhanced by the burnt red textured panel next door. Love the design with the overlapping leaf branch too. Thank you so much for making time to join us at Color Hues and I hope your soon to start physical therapy provides the needed relief.
