Hello Stamplings!
Well, that's summer. I hope you closed the door behind you because a lot of folks don't want to see any more of 2026 summer! I know it's not official for another few weeks, but I am hoping Lady September puts on her fall hat right from the first!
When I think of fall I think of leaves, and since it is a rare 5th Monday of the month, that means this is S = Stencils on the I.D.E.A.S. Calendar. After that opening, I know you were expecting a card done in fall colors, but, no, I copied the example on the leafy stencil packaging because I love these spring and summer colors. I'm just trying to keep your brains confused. I don't want to be the only one confused around here!
Onefer
I actually have two Onefers. The NBUS stencil I used is "Leafy Background" from Pinkfresh Studio, designed by Inna Moreva. The sediment is NBUS from Gina K.
Then I saw the AAA Colourful challenge which had similar colors, but with the addition of blues, so I had another play:
The die-cut sediment is from Simon Says Stamp, attached to a panel to which I stenciled random leaves and added score lines and pop bling that was popular a few years back. Hammy has gotten quite adept as picking colors to match the cards. My collection of dots are so old, the gluey backing is failing, so I remove it and glue them on, rather than have them fall off during mailing.
I tried the Nuvo drops and still have (cough) little bottles of them, mostly brand new because I could never get them to perform for me. Not even Hammy could make them work. I suppose it's like making pancakes ~ you'd think, in time, you'd get good at forming them, but not us. Does anyone want several bottles of Nuvo drops?
But I digest. I have a feeling I will be using this pretty stencil a lot, next in fall colors, and perhaps even for Christmas cards?!

Twofer
For this week's Christmas card, I started with the sketch from the talented Michele F. for Freshly Made Sketches. Some of you might recognize the background striped paper as being from PTI back in the last century. I love the linen look and feel and how the bright colors make me happy.
I used a rounded corner stitched die from MFT as the angled element of the sketch and for the middle focus pocus I used a peppermint candy stencil from SSS. After masking and blending the two shades of pink, I die-cut the candy using a circle stitched die from MFT. The Ho Ho Ho sediment is from Impression Obsession. A few silver sequints were picked out by Stanley for the finishing touché.

I feel like it was Fall the whole month of August here, Darnell, and hoping September brings some of those lovely Indian summer days. That leaf stencil is lovely both color ways and I can see it in a variety of other colors too. Thanks for sharing that one with us at Just Us Girls.

LOVE your Leafy backgrounds, they are so pretty! This might accidentally fall i to my basket, meanwhile I can't wait until you bring out the other seasons. Your candy stripe card is very colorful and fun, with your pinwheel candy being spot on.
All of your cards Darnell are so pretty the leaf cards and the colours go so well together l am going through a phase of liking trees & leaves and these are stunning love the Christmas card too with the coloured stripes and nice sentiments on all 3 xx
What a fun stencil set, Darnell! And great cards with it. I have a few bottles of Nuvo drops, too, and haven't had much success with them. Wyatt used to love using them on cards when he played in my room with me. :-) The second card is a very cheery card. Funny little cartoon, too.
I have no doubt that you will be using that leaf stencil a lot in the coming weeks. I looks so versatile and you could use it with any colour. The vibrancy of your Christmas card is wonderful. Keep it up. I am very glad to report that we have had rain. Hooray! xx

These leaves are so pretty in the spring and summer colors and I can't wait to see them in fall colors. Actually, I can't wait to see fall colors and temperatures! Your Christmas card is a delight, my friend! I'm loving that background paper with the bright colors and texture and how you rounded the corners. I predict you will sit in the royal court this week!
I definitely think you could use that leaf stencil for Christmas cards. And when you do, I hope you share them on the blog. The colorful holiday card you posted today looks as fresh as new-fallen snow. And it won't be long before we have some of that here in the northland!
That is.a beautiful set of stencils and you chose the colours for each card so well and which allow the under layers of leaves to show through so prettily, and I love the two different stytkes if sentiment too. The Christmas card colours really sing out and a great take on the sketch with the diagonal striped paper and then the bright pink rounded stitched rectangle with the circular sentiment layer covered with that wonderful candy design...just like a stick of rock..lol and the coordinating fun sentiment over the top with a couple of sweet little sequins...all terrific cards Darnell. x
What pretty stenciled leaves! Love the movement, and they're ideal for any season. I have to do the same with all my dots and gems as they've become untrustworthy with age. Your Christmas card is so cheerful and cute! Fun colors and stripes, especially the peppermint as a focal panel. I love how you adapted the sketch. Our summer temps have been comfortable, but everything is so dry. I'm not sure winter will be much wetter this year.

I am right there with you on wanting fall to hurry up and get here already--I wore a fall fox T-shirt yesterday with a flannel longsleeve shirt on top hoping that the weather would get the message : ) Anyway, I think all your cards are beautiful and I appreciate you dancing to the beat of your own drum and doing the leaves in blues and greens. And your peppermint card is just darling! I love those bright colors for a Christmas card and the stripey background is perfect with the peppermint stencil.
