Happy Pencil (Stencil) Day! Happy April Fool's Day! Happy Easter! Phew!

Hello Stamplings!

I hope you are feeling your oats, cheerios, or bran flakes, because as you can tell from the title, we have busy days ahead of us this week! You might think Happy Pencil Day is a joke because of April Fool's Day, but it snot. It's truly a day to celebrate the pencil. Which we know, sadly, is becoming obsolete.

I've made a card for the occasion and for S = Stencil on the I.D.E.A.S. Calendar on this rare fifth Monday of the month.

Onefer
I used a NBUS stripe stencil from Honey Bee Stamps for the notepaper background, inked in navy blue ink. Next, I sponged ink around the edges to draw your eyes to the hocus pocus sweet child in the center holding her mysteriously humongous pencil.

The image is "tiny townie Penelope has a pencil" from Stampingbella. That sentence is a Double Alliterative, in case you wondered. I would have gone for a Triple by adding ... "poised pointedly."

I colored the image using my Ziggies and Hammy topped it off with his winker. I cut the image using a stitched oval die from MFT. The text panel is from my pp stash and the wee sediment is part of the stamp set. (Please ignore the splotch in the lower right. Sometimes hamsters have to sneeze.)

Twofer
I used a new set of ink pads which I received from The Mister yesterday for no specific reason. What a sweetie!♥️The image is dynamic and, as you can see, very emotionally evocative. I colored it with ... wait. What?! Oh, that man! He got me with an April Fool's Day prank ~ clearly the ink pads were filled with invisible ink!!

Threefer
This pretty NBUS stencil from Pinkfresh Studio is inked over its partner NBUS coverplate die called, "Petal Mosaic." The three inks I used are from Catherine Pooler and the sediment is an ancient PTI favorite. Bun E. Frogman came out for his annual hello to you!

Enjoy your week! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*

Happy Easter, Happy Passover, and Happy Spring to all! Enjoy this time with your family if you are fortunate to be together!

Mwah!
*Life is too short!

So you know it's not April Fools till Wed right, sis??!! So this is an early April Fools trick!?! I had to look at my calendar to be sure I didn't lose two days???!!! which was very possible. Love your Double alliterative (thank you for the lesson, I've forgotten a lot of those parts of speech things we learned so long ago! ) Beautiful coloring on the pencil girl and such a fun design! Love that die cut stenciling in your lovely spring colors and cute hammy inside the cracked egg!! Happy Easter!

An Austrian army awfully arrayed. Talk about alliteration! I don't know why I always remember the first part of that poem. But I digress. Your little Penelope is darling, Darnell, and the notepaper is perfect for celebrating Pencil Day. You had me with the ink, although I do think you have the beginning of a wonderful card there. ; ) The colors of your third card are just what I think of for Easter and Spring.

Well you fooled me - I sat staring at the second card for ages waiting for the image to appear, thinking my computer was being very very slow to open the image, and why wouldn't it hurry up when it had managed to open the first and third images just fine? And then my little pea brain noticed the last line of the paragraph below it. Adorable child with her giant pencil and striped background on the first, and lovely soft spring colours for Easter on the third.

Ahhhh, stenciling - my favorite crafty technique when making cards. In fact, I have some new stencil sets that I absolutely have to try...immediately. Your beautiful cards have inspired me!

She's adorable. Do you know I still use a pencil at work so not obsolete as far as I'm concerned, athough I do know I'm in the minority!

Have a wonderful Easter - chocie treats have become so pricey here the (adult) kiddos are going to be pared back this year. They want petrol vouchers instead!

So glad I saw your blog post Darnell - I have been very 'slack' about visiting blogs this year... maybe with winter coming on I will make more time to spend on the computer... and also with my trip cancelled, April will be somewhat slower.
Loving your cards - especially your twofer!! Glad to hear The Mister is up to playing pranks again. I trust he is well on the way to full recovery now after kissing the road...
Give Hammy and Stanley an extra treat from me for all their hard work
Love and blessings
Maxine

Such a sweet little girl with a BIG pencil. The stenciled note paper background broken by the scripty paper is the perfect place for this petite pencil holder! God Bless you Hammy! What a great idea to have a stencil paired with a coverplate! Love the pastel spring colors!

I'm enjoyng the time with my sweet Aida. She is a heroe. The long flight around the world she managed with no problems. Children are stronger as we think. :-)
Have a nice day.

Your first card is adorable and your watercoloring always wows me. Oh, and I love a good alliteration. You got me with the second card's invisible ink. Sheesh. How pretty to have the stencil that works with the die! Very pretty Eastery colors! Looking at your Easter frog... I realize I've seen him a few times, but this time he reminded me that I have a collection of what appears to be the same frog, but mine are for Thanksgiving. I'd forgotten about them. Just now pulled them out to look and they're so danged cute! I'll try to remember them for this year.

I'm absolutely in LOVE with that tiny girl and her pencils--and your coloring is perfection! I am totally a pencil girl--need to erase too often to use a pen--except when writing notes to folks, of course. I see that The Mr. has the same sense of humor you do--makes for a happy couple, for sure. The pastels on your Easter card are so soft and pretty! Have a great week and a Happy Easter!

LOL! for your blog. But seriously that girl with the pencil is adorable. And how appropriate to put her on a lined paper. The Easter one is pretty with all its spring colors.
