I have two cards for Day Three:
The beautiful NBUS sediment from Hero Arts is not funny, but I'm hoping you find the card itself humorous, given the look on the face of that jiraffe with a knot in his kneck ~ maybe from carrying around a jiant jingle bell! The giraffe is a NBUS stamp from Katzelkraft which I colored with pencils and Ziggies.
Here's a closeup of the metallic red jingle bell I cut from a Lil Inker die.
I just love that side eye and the way the artist drew the mouth. Our dogs would look just like that after they'd done something naughty!

So what happened was a few weeks ago was my friend Susan sent me a funny cartoon perfect for us card artists:
Har-Har! Corny, but pretty cute, right?
Some of you might remember that we have a niece who recently became a doctor. Her name is Kathrine and she chose her specialty at the same time Susan sent me the cartoon.
Well, so, given her specialty, Hammy insisted that I make Kathrine a personal card! I used the "cardiologist" cartoon above for the front of the card ... and then I hand-drew my own cartoon using her specialty on the inside and typing the sediment on the computer:

ReplyDeleteDay 3 already! Boy time gets away. And before I forget the postie has been kind and delivered cough cough 5 parcels! in one day and as predicted hubby was home! Lucky all the parcels weren't stampy things (only 4 of the 5).

Oh, these made me giggle! The giraffe looks like he's wondering how he got himself into that pickle. Sometimes we do feel all tied up in knots. Love the giant jingle bell! And your hand drawn cartoon is brilliant for your brilliant niece! Fantastic!

That giraffe is hysterical and I recon the bell around his neck is the size of a VW Bug! Love the pathologist joke. I was a speech pathologist before the kids were born, so I REALLY love it - I guess I changed my career to "Card"iology!

That poor strangled giraffe, you're right the rolling side eyes and distressed expression makes this card. And who knew you could draw...well you can and the pun on the card and is fall down funny. I'm sure your niece fell down laughing, too.

ReplyDeleteI love the cards you made. The get well one is awesome. If the patient didn't have stitches already I am sure reading that card would have them in stitches for sure. So fun and sure to cheer someone up.
ReplyDeleteOh man, nothing as fun as a corny pun, and now I won't be able to get these out of my head. Looks like the pathologist recommended that the patient give up sugar, caffeine, and get more exercise....which would put that look on anyone's face!
