Hello Stamplings!
I hope this finds you well! I am stopping in real quick because my caboose is about out of gas and I don't want to wait until tomorrow. Because you know what they say about waiting until tomorrow and hot irons and all that!
Today is all about GOLD! 🜚
I blended galaxy gold Brilliance ink with a makeup brush in an ombre fashion through a circle stencil for the background and then over that, I blended Delicata gold ink through a Sunflower stencil from Magenta. The friend sediment die was a gift from my friend Lottie, so I don't know who makes it.
It's a pretty card, but it looks a bit flat considering it's a gold card. That is, until you turn it toward the light ~ give it a turn, Hammy ~ and then, "Whoa, hold on. Let me grab my shades!" It is, indeed, brilliant and delicata!
Challenges
- CAS Mix Up: Tone-on-tone using a stencil.
- Color Hues #3: Gold and cream.
- The Flower Challenge: Circle/circles and Happy 4th Birthday!!
Another Month Bites the Dust!
Happy October 6th!!!! Since October 1st, I have missed:
- World Card Making Day,
- World Animal Day,
- International Day of Older Persons,
- International Coffee Day,
- World Smile Day,
- World Farm Animals Day, and
- Virus Appreciation Day! Wait. What? Yup!
Never fear, I didn't miss them all! Sunday, October 4th was Wodka Day! I took a rare sip (cough) to celebrate it! Care to join me?
And, finally, I love the mail and appreciate all they do to get our cards, letters, and packages delivered, but just like the other day when I shared the "do not bend" envelope, I just had to share this with you because it's so ridiculous!
~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy! Today is Noodle Day, so please use your noodle and wear your mask to keep safe, in spite of what others do or how weary you are. Life has been made shorter for a horrific number of people because of Covid and I don't want you to be one of them. Mwah!
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower! Please let me know you came by so I can be sure and return the flavor!
This is beautiful Darnell ! Love the shine , love the dots and love the sentiment... so I guess that means I love it all !
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing with us at the Color Hues Challenge ♥
A fabulous gold card Darnell, I love the shine of the flower.
ReplyDeleteKath x
Perfect card. I like the shine. You've used wonderful motif of sunflowers. And they need to be gold.
ReplyDeleteI have missed all this days too. But I have invented new one: Sonja's annually cleaning week. :-)
Wodka is killing viruses. :-)
Stay safe!
Hugs, Sonja
Love the gold flower on the dotty background Darnell, perfect for our new challenge at Color Hues too. I agree that all that sparkle makes it a b to photograph. Mind you taking any photograph recently has been tricky as the weather here has been awful, continuous rain on Saturday and prolonged showers yesterday! At least it was dry for the munchkins on Sunday. The GKs came with parents for a socially distanced visit before we are banned again. A lovely walk in the fields and a trip to the top pond to feed the baby fish!
ReplyDeleteKeep safe and sane and TFS! :)
Stunning cards and what great colours they look wonderful Loved reading all the days celebrations I missed as well I hope that you are keeping well it’s been a long year for us all but we will win and get back to our normal life Sorry I’ve not been around recently just home stuff got in the way Love and hugs Carole x
ReplyDeleteOh what a gorgeous card Darnell - you and Hammy have been very busy - did you have to wear your dark glasses while making this with all the schparkle and glittery gold??
ReplyDeleteOh dear, that parcel was a bit wonky, and I do love your virus potato - glad to hear you sipped the wodka to celebrate which ever day it was you shellebbbratedddd.
Stay safe - from viruses and wodka
Blessings
Maxine
Oh wow Darnell this is an absolutely stunning card fabulous Autumn colour used along with the sparkle love the sunflowers stay safe enjoy your day x
ReplyDeleteThe gold looks amazing when tilted into the light, Darnell. Seems like I'm not doing so bad celebrating the days of October: I've been making cards for WCMD, with 3 cats and 1 dog it's impossible to miss World Animal Day, I try to celebrate the older person in my household on a daily basis LOL and I'm hoping the snowman on my latest card will put a smile on my visitor's faces.
ReplyDeleteDo stay safe!
Hugs, Marianne x
Such a gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteSome fun days there!
Gorgeous card! Love the gold!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Marilyn❤️
Gorgeous shimmer for a wonderful card, Darnell!
ReplyDeleteAlso love your "atomic potato" for Wodka Day 😄. At least you managed to celebrate one day!
As for the last photo, I guess someone was unsatisfied with the "do not bend" envelope. "I can do better than that", he thought... so this happened! I know it's not funny!
Keep save and healthy.
Hugs,
Cris
Dolly!!! Wodka!!! And me being here and you being there - not good. I shall raise a glass (or 3) to celebrate a late Wodka day.
ReplyDeleteLoving the card - and happy that you came along to CAS Mix Up! xx
I thought your card beautiful then you turned it and WOW! an even more beautiful card. Your delivery people can't read it seems? I hope nothing was damaged? Love your wodka too, must try it like that!
ReplyDeleteKeep safe
Faith x
Gloriously gold card there my friend! Love it! And your wodka? I'll have to pass, but it sure looks...interesting. Hee hee. And that box. Oh my goodness! That is unreal. Wow. Stay safe and healthy my friend! Not too much of that sauce though, mkay?? LOL :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Darnell! Hopefully, that fragile package wasn't too fragile. Sigh! xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, the gold is so elegant and downright gorgeous!! I love how popular stencils are now, I think I need more. On another note, I see you have been hit by the 'demon' commenter, they got me in the last few days too...ugh!!
ReplyDeleteJust love the gold stenciling on the cream card, Darnell - such gorgeous shimmer! Somehow sipping out of a potato doesn't entice as much as a crisp vodka 7. And your fragile package looks similar to one we received at work years ago - sad isn't it? But more importantly, hope your contents came out ok!!
ReplyDeleteLove all that sparkly gold. You need to put a warning on the envelope to wear sunglasses when opening! Glad you are well. Is the smoke dissipating in your area?
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely and is a ray of sparkle and shine for sure! Love the dots in the background and how they are visible throughout the flowers as well. I am always delighted to see you playing along with us at Color Hues. Stay safe and despite our governor saying masks aren't required or should I say enforced... I will continue to mask up! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour gold card is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteRidiculous Is right!
Hopefully, everything on the inside of the box was okay!
Love, love, love your card. I fell in love with Delicata Gold a couple of years ago and there's nothing to replace it. I'd be happy to wear my shades just to see this beauty up close and personal. It is gorgeous. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell, What stunning cards. I really love the look of them.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if anything was 'not' broken in that parcel.
Hope you have a lovely day. Sue
Wish you had warned me, my eyes are smarting from the glare. It is a stunning card. I missed WCMD and all the others. Didn't even have wodka even though I have some here. Maybe I can round up some noodles today so I don't miss all these great holidays going on in October. Mail carriers should be taught to read before they are hired.
ReplyDeleteWhat an elegant and stylish card Darnell, beautiful floral image and gorgeous background and colours.
ReplyDeleteBoy that's some parcel!!
Keep safe, Kate x
I love your elegant gold card. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI too missed WCD...and it was a totally wasted day filled with ridiculous nonsense.
ReplyDeleteLovely card, Darnell. The shimmers of the delicate gold are lovely on that cream base.
I hope that package wasn't delivered to you! Some people don't seem to read the signs! Your brilliant sunflower lights the way, my friend! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat's a right bobby dazzler Darnell!! The inky sunflower over the dotty paper looks fabulous. Hope you are keeping well xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tone on tone using the circle stencil and love the ombre effect and the bright and shiny gold through the pretty sunflower stencil over the top Darnell, I had to go get my sunglasses for fear of damaging my eyes..lol, and the patterned sentiment is just perfect to finish it..a gorgeous card, and whatever is inside that parcel will no longer be in one piece I fear! x
ReplyDeleteWow, I am so impressed - I never manage to make anything for even one challenge and you manage to incorporate three! Way to go! I love the dots in the background and the gold really does sparkle in the light, it is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat damaged parcel is just too, too much, unbelievable!!! Keep safe and well my friend. Hugs, Annie xxx
That card shimmers like the sun...WOWZERS! Love layered stencils and this is right up there with my faves. Despite missing so much at the first of month, you didn't miss the most important day (poor potato). What the hell happened to that package...ridiculous seems like such a mild word for it.
ReplyDeleteA really stunning card Darnell and love the use of the yellow/gold.
ReplyDeleteKath x
WOW what a beautiful card Darnell. Stunning...running out of adjectives; just wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I think the card looks great even before you turn it towards the light. But when the light does hit all that gold... wow! A beautiful card. Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely 24 karat Darnell, what a beauty! Now about that package... unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteYou forgot Cinnamon Bun day.
ReplyDeleteI love your gold card. You and Hammy did an excellent job. [Bunny]
Wow! I think you better store your card at Fort Knox until you're ready to send it. It's definitely worth an entire gold ingot! That poor mishandled box of goodies just cracked me up--handle with care, indeed!
ReplyDeleteLove all that gold shimmer! Great job of layering the two stencils.
ReplyDeleteOur pkgs look like that sometimes too...actually more and more often it seems..lol!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful stenciled ombre background for your gorgeous glowing Gold Sunflowers. Thanks for sharing the angled closeup..Wow! So pleased you joined us at CAS Mix Stencil Tone on Tone Challenge. Love and Hugs..Nancy
Virus Appreciation Day? Now I've heard everything!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful card, Darnell! I love all the shimmer from the Delicata Gold and how those fabulous polka dots pop on your background...great job with your layered stencils!
Thanks so much for making me smile, my friend! It's always fun to visit your blog!
WOW!! Just look at all that shine ...... so pretty xx
ReplyDeleteYour card is just stunning Darnell, love the shine and your stenciling!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Darnell! The shine is spectacular. Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful shine. I love the way the spots show through the petals, it adds that little bit of something to the design xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shimmer and shine from your gold stenciling, Dolly! The sunflowers are gorgeous in gold! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! Love, Lolly
ReplyDeleteI thought your card was beautiful even before I saw the shine, but the shine is truly spectacular! I hope that badly abused package isn't yours! I missed World Card Making Day and all the other ones, even Wodka day! Where have I been?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful card, I love all that gold and glitz!
ReplyDeleteSuch a glorious card here Dee! I just adore it esp. all that fabulous shine too and the circles of course. Thanks for sharing with us over at 'The Flower Challenge' again ;) hugs Vee (DT) xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and brilliant cheerful card! I love all the glorious gold and we can ALL use a little extra brilliance in this day and age! I missed all the same days you missed - the first I've ever missed WCMD! Just shameful, eh? The package is hilarious, but pathetic at the same time. If that's handling with care, I'd hate to see what a fragile sticker would represent! I swear sometimes they see those handle with care stickers and use the package for a football! LOL
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! Gorgeous!! Amazing cards, love all that shining gold!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful, Darnell!! Oh my gosh - I can't believe your package arrived like that!! Were the contents actually all right?
ReplyDeleteAwesome card. So good to see when Hammy gave it a turn.
ReplyDeleteAway from the light, your lovely stencilling is all soft and buttery, Darnell ... and when Hammy turned it ... wow, what a gorgeous glow ... a stunner! Missing things ... yep, me too, I can so relate! Hope whatever was in that package came out in one piece (or at least in the right number of pieces it should have done)! LYAMYEDMA ... WYHTFACNW? Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeletethese cards are so nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shimmery and stunner of a card Darnell x. Great tone on tone and absolutely beautiful x.
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell,
ReplyDeleteJust a quick pop in to take a better look at your gorgeous gold and cream card! Love the shimmer and glitter and varied shades of gold ink! Beautifully done! As for the package..... scratching my head.
You said that perfectly about wearing masks, my friend! Can you please plaster it all over Facebook or wherever all these people get the WRONG info?! How do all these deaths seem normal to people?! Sorry for the venting--on to this spectacular card! I love gold, but probably would never think to combine those 2 inks!
ReplyDeleteUnusual card, I love golden shine. The combination of two templates is an amazing idea, and thanks to the fact that you used the same golden ink in both cases, it created such a stunning final effect
ReplyDeletexx
I guess I should bust out my Delicata gold ink. I never really liked it until I just saw it on your card, Darnell. The impact, the shine, the gloriousness.
ReplyDeleteWow that shine is amazing! This is a magnificent card!!! Thanks for sharing at CAS Mix Up:)
ReplyDeleteWow! Your card is stunning with that gorgeous shimmer ink! So sorry that I don’t have chance to visit your blog often these days, life has an annoying habit of getting in the way! I hope you and your loved ones are keeping well and safe and that you’ve been able to find masks small enough to fit Hammy! Sending lots of love xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us this month at The Flower Challenge, hope to see you next month too. Cara DT x
