Hello Stamplings!
Well, whoosh, that week went by faster than a smudge drying right in the middle of your beautiful almost-finished card! But we want it to go by fast, right? Because #2020 can't end fast enough! Lucy explains it better in faces below.
We are a week into the current Twofer Card Challenge #31 already! The theme is TREES. I've made this set of reminder inspiration cards for you:
The cute doodly little tree stamp that my cards have in common is a NBUS stamp a thousand years old and I have no idea who the manufacturer is. It's fun to finally be able to come up with not one, but three, designs using this funky stamp.
Onefer
I love this rainbow colored new home card and can't wait to have one of my friends move so I can send this out. (Are you moving?) It seemed fitting to use one of my equally ancient wood veneer images on the card. The sediment is from the "Sweetest Somebunny" set by MFT.
Not enough texture, dementia, and interest for you? No worries, Hammy glossified the beweesus out of the trees:
Challenges
- TIME OUT: Adventurous. It's certainly an adventure to move to a new home!
- Virginia's Show and Share: We are challenged to use rainbow colors.
- We Love Chocolate Baroque: Anything goes option.
Twofer
For my second design, I created a QACAS birthday card using a pretty textured remnant of Char Truce paper and a sectional die cut from a friend. The outer Pointed Rectangle Frame is made by Poppystamps. The vertical sediment is from Stamps by Judith.
Challenges
- Just Us Girls: Trend Week: cut into thirds.
- Seize the Birthday: Anything goes.
- Simon Says Stamp Monday: Frame it.
- Stinkin' Inkers: Times three.
Threefer
I mean, I just had to, right? If I had a Marie Antoinette dress, I would have used it because it would have been more fitting then this little number from Simon Says, but you use what you have. The world is so flippin' crazy right now, I will do anything for a laugh, even if I have to karack myself up!
~~~
I hope my Twofer cards have inspired you to play along this month at the Twofer Card Challenge! Mwah!
Finally,
I think a lot of us started September back in March! And speaking of funny, if you haven't watched the "Cooking With Cade" video, you have to go to the bathroom and then watch it. Wait. What? I don't mean you have to watch it in the bathroom! I mean you will laugh so hard tears will run down your legs, so go potty first. I've lost track of how many times we have watched it!
~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy, but keep safe and well! LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower! Please let me know you came by so I can be sure and return the flavor!

Wonderful cards Darnell - and so glad Hammy is still working hard :).
ReplyDeleteI will be moving house 'sort of' soon - hoping for a sale very soon so I can get going, as living in limbo is character building!! i am currently purging and packing - it seems to be never ending!
Stay safe
Blessings
Maxine
Two more lovelies... (the cards not us. If I can see the wood for the trees (pun intended)which are currently hiding Mr Mojo I will try and join in)
ReplyDeleteAnd do you think I would suit my hair like that??? Could you send me that waistline??? xxxx
Hi Darnell, loving your cards, so creative with the tree stamp, I especially love the lovely scenic one and the hairdo card is so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI watched the video, on my that Nana has the patience of a saint, I would have that child in a straight jacket, a bit excessive I know but it's not an age group I have patience with, I wonder how Damian survived, must ask him sometime, Kate x
You're cheating! a threefer? I can see why you had to though. Fabulous cards and so clever. GREAT cheery colours and love the glitter!
ReplyDeleteKeep safe
Faith x
Super cute and clever cards! It is difficult to believe another week has gone by already. Kind of glad this year is flying by.
ReplyDeleteLove that doodly tree image and how you used it on all of these cards! As hair - TOO FUNNY!! (And VERY creative!) Love all the bright colors on the scene you created on the first one; perfect against all that white! And the frame works beautifully with that tree image and the vertical greeting on your second one. All wonderful designs.
ReplyDeleteTwo more super cards Darnell, great designs and I love the tree colours on the first, but the best has to be your threefer and fabulous hairdo!
ReplyDeleteJust had a look at that video..... what a laugh to brighten the day xx
You are genius, my friend! This tausend years old stamp of the tree is fantastic. Card for move is fantastic too. Someone will be happy to get all colors of the rainbow for the luck in new home. The simple and effective birthday card is very elegant. But your treefer is brilliant! To use the tree as a hairstyle is epic. Thank you for make me laught!
ReplyDeleteTake care and stay safe!
Hugs, Sonja
So very clever and unique trees, the third one made me laugh it is so GREAT and FUN though ALL three are fabulously designed and created...what fun they all are!!
ReplyDeleteThree great cards, Darnell xoxo
ReplyDeleteHaha... the only thing I saw when I popped by was Marge Simpson sporting a yellow up do, is it just me and my child like mentality... please tell me I'm not the only one who see a Simpson character lol. Such fun cards Darnell and the tree is super sweet especially for a new home card :) x
ReplyDeleteI don't know which is cuter, the trees or the hair style. Both are delightful. I'm afraid 2020 is going out with a bang or maybe an explosion. Can't wait to see the end no matter what. Lucy is who I grew up watching and her comedy was the greatest. What an icon.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed Darnell, certainly does sum up 2020 and we're not finished the year yet. Worry is will 2021 be any better, the way things are going one has to wonder, that next cruise of ours keeps creeping further away.
ReplyDeleteI love your curly tree and what a selection you have created with it, I can see Christmas there as well with the assistance of a bit of glitter or a few gems.
It's lovely to see you at our first challenge at We Love Chocolate Baroque, thanks so much for joining in.

I do love those swirly trees and you have been so creative! I do see it as hair now! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Despite the potty trip, I now have wet legs and underwear. (TMI?) I had a grandson like Cade. Too much energy in one tiny bundle. Lucy's expressions depict how I feel exactly. I am SO OVER 2020! Any way love your cards and that last one is the bomb (old expression learned from my grandchildren a hunnert years ago).
ReplyDeleteSo creative use of your tree stamp, beautiful cards and love those stunning hair! :D
ReplyDeleteHugs
What fun swirly trees and I love the clever repurposing of the image by using it as hair!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your twofer/oops threefer card. Had to laugh at the third card - how you used it as hair and you made it work. I really like the second tree card, I have that die cut and use it often, it is so versatile. Glad Hammy could help you out by glamming up the trees.
ReplyDeleteLove all 3 of your doodle-ly tree cards, Dolly. Your rainbow card is beautifully colored and perfect for a friend with a new home. Birthday cards always come in and handy...but have to admit... your third card was a laugh out loud card, especially needed everyday and I have yet to watch the apparently really loud out loud link:-) TFS and making my day start out with fun laughs from a favorite when I was growing up..dear miss lovable funny Lucy!!!! Sending Big Hugs and Lots of Love to you, my dear sweet funny friend:-)
ReplyDeleteCool cards, Darnell! Love that hair! :) Watched the video of Cade. I'm not sure I'd want to eat those cookies!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHow creative! I absolutely love that you used the tree for the yellow hair! I love all three cards Darnel1! I sure hope the weather/smoke is improving for you too! Those Lucy pics are spot on. Thanks for joining us this week for Trend Week at Just Us Girls! Stay safe and well!
ReplyDeleteHee, hee, hee! Love Lucy and she can say it all with just a look! And Cade & Nana could go on the road! Your curly trees are just as delightful! Love the curly colors with the sweet little house! Thank God I don't need a new house card! The simple birthday card is perfect for a guy that likes his cards CAS! Gotta love it as a wig! Definitely a Marie Antoinette look! Thanks for the laughs, my friend! Mwah!
ReplyDeleteThat curly wig cracked me up too, Darnell. I love the different ways you used that tree stamp. I moved but you don't have to send me the card.;)
ReplyDeleteThose swirly trees are cute and so are your cards! But those Lucy faces gave me a good laugh, wow do they ever sum up this year!
ReplyDeleteJust watched Cade... Oh... my...gosh!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling tree stamp. Love your cards using it. I MAY move after my last gd is out of high school, we'll see. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYour swirly trees are BEAUTIFUL Dolly! Love the first card with the adorable scene. The gloss on the trees are perfect ... let Hammy know I'm proud of him! :) Fantastic card! And I LOVE the bright colour of your second card. Isn't that card stock stunning??! And so amazing with the blue stamping. Great combo! Thanks for the laugh with your Threefer ... only you would see this tree as a hair-do! :) Love, Lolly
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Twofers. I love both I am taking a break so won’t be joining in.
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards my friend, I love that you have such a diverse set of stamps that your mind takes to so many levels. You are amazing, just like your cards. I loved watching Lucy..those pictures are sure spot on, aren't they!
ReplyDeleteAlways good for a belly laugh, Darnell - got a kick out of your Lucy photos for 2020! Yeah, I think September's will be doubled by the end of the year!! And little Cade - what a hoot! I see there are more videos with him so will have to watch those too!!
ReplyDeleteNow to your threefer - fab use of that tree stamp! So fun with the new house (sorry, I'm not moving) and in the trio windows but that hairdo, oh my! Almost a Marge Simpson! Thanks for adding a few years to my life today!!
Love your 3 for! Especially the last one! you are very clever.
ReplyDeleteUm yes I agree I feel like I have been stuck in a mix of July/August/a little bit of September for months!
Thank you for the link to Cade's video - I laughed so loud my 15 year old took a break from homeschooling to see what was making me cackle so loud. :)
Ha Ha Ha Poor Lucy! Love your quirky tree and especially the hairdo part! Good imagination, Darnell!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your cute curly-Q tree, the first thing that came to mind was...sheep! Could that stamp possibly be turned into a wooly sheep? Not sure I could do it, but I have a feeling you could. But that's beside the point. Love your cards, and they have inspired me. I'm hoping to make some tree cards tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards, Darnell, your doodly tree is so fun! And that hair! Love it, it sure tickled my funny-bone
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell, Fab cards. I love the doodly tree.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fab Friday. Sue
Fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge;-))m
You do make me giggle! Love the Lucy pics .... absolutely spot on, thank goodness for gin!
ReplyDeleteYour creativity never ceases to amaze me ...... what a fun threefer, especially the hairdo .... love it!! xx
both cards are very beautiful.
ReplyDeletehugs
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards. Love your entry to the Stinkin' Inkers challenge. Lovely green paper and stitched panels. Thanks for playing along with our "Times 3" challenge.
Hi Darnell!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to see that you are having fun with your old and new goodies. How fun that you had the perfect wood veneer as a neighbor for your curly trees :).
Cade is so cute... and a bit dangerous, but definitely adorable 😊
Three adorable cards Darnell. I like the one with the dress, Lol. It looks so much like hair. Hope all is going well with you. We finally got some rain last night and we are down to 154 air quality. Have a great weekend my friend.
ReplyDeleteThree super creations, love the little scene with super images and colours, great post as always. Thank you for joining our 'Wings/Anything Goes challenge at We Love Chocolate baroque.
ReplyDeleteKath x
Darnell, I love these cute lil curly trees so fun. Love the new house, those rainbow colors are bright and inviting. Your thirds card is another fab way to show off that three...I loved you using that tree as a hairdoo...very unorthodox and brilliant. The video...what was she thinking? That is one obstinate little man.
ReplyDeleteThe little tree stamp is just adorable and wow, you sure came up with three brilliant ways to use it. I love the coloured trees, they are cute and fun. The second card with the trio of trees looks so elegant and the third card - wow, now that is just genius. Who would have thought, a tree for hair but it works brilliantly. You are so clever!
ReplyDeleteOff to watch the video now. I hope things are improving in CA - keep safe and well my friend. Big hugs, Annie xxx
What a feast for the eyes, Darnell! I love the new house with old stamps card, almost worth moving for! Your diecut card is delightful, and the hairdo card just cracked me up! Lucy's got it almost right - it’s been September for a while for us 🤣
ReplyDeleteThen Cade just topped it off! I’ve been showing to everybody I can find, and I burst out laughing every time I think of it 😆
Oh, wow! What a fun set of cards! I love the bright neighborhood you created and then I enjoyed the more CAS looking 2nd card. The last one was such a fun surprise and it made me laugh! You are so clever!
ReplyDeleteOh your cards make me smile especially the last one! How clever is that! LOVE the Lucy shots... Oh how I loved watching her.... And Cade? Well I had to go watch that and my God, how does that lady cope... So funny!
ReplyDeleteBe well, be safe... hugs
What a creative lady you are Darnell! Your tree cards are beautiful and then you go and throw us a curve ball with the threefer! Let me just say that YOU amaze Me!! Thanks for the Lucy Laugh too - will be spreading the joy :)
ReplyDeleteVicky x
What a trio! You definitely made me laugh with your third card :)! Love the rainbow trees and the simplicity of your first two!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining us at Seize the Birthday, Darnell!
It has been way way too long since I have stopped by! Love your twofer Darnell and of course love the rainbow of trees!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for playing with us at Time Out!
I looked at this before. But I must have forgotten to comment.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I came back! I loved seeing your "happy" trees...(You made me remember The painter BoB Ross!
You can probably tell by my post on my blog...I had a bad day, and that was followed by a bad day on the new blogger!
But your Lucy pics and that adorable video got me laughing!
Thanks so much for sharing.
Still praying for you with all that smoke! Hope all is much better!
I'm so glad you pulled out your thousand year old NBUS tree stamp 'cause it's so darn cute! Even more so with the rainbow colors and Hammy's glossification. Such a darling card that is! It also works great when you need a QACAS card, and equally great for a big, beautiful 'do of hair! That's brilliant! No, You amaze ME! Thanks so much for the laugh, too, Darnell. I really needed it. That September pic of Lucy cracked me up. Also watched the "Cooking With Cade" video and laughed out loud. Cade is full of piss and vinegar and Grandma's got a lot patience. He's a cutie patootie!
ReplyDeleteLove your scene card, Darnell! The colors are delightful! I am so glad that I get to stop by today! I love your share of Lucy's faces....totally 2020! Thanks so much for playing Virginia’s “Show & Share”! FABULOUS! Glad to see your lovely work. I appreciate your support!
ReplyDeleteWow, I am so loving this little tree stamp Auntie! The home card is so sweet, a homey scene for sure. Love those trees in the rainbow colors and the wooden house tucked in the hills. Wish I was moving! lol Your QCAS birthday card is so fun in the green framed in the white frames. Love your sweet trees going down the side with the vertical greeting. But it is the third card that amazes me! I love it and I love that you saw "hair" in the tree stamp. I see it now, but didn't in your earlier cards. I'm so bad at "seeing" or being clever. I love this one so much. OMGOSH!! Now I see why you said to go potty before watching Cooking With Cade! He was a hoot for sure! Yes, I'm ready for 2020 to end and hope and pray that 2021 brings a vaccine, way less hurricanes, better weather and no fires! It has been a crazy year and not just because of COVID. Bret said it best, "I think the world is coming to an end." Sure feels like it! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteLove these three Darnell, how clever to use the tree for hair. Thanks for sharing the video, Nanna's have such patience, I would have given up right at the start but then, I am not used to boys!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on both cards. I really like the bright colors on your first card and the embossed trees. (cute stamp). The CAS design of the 2nd card is great for when you need to put a card together quickly. I like that die too.
ReplyDeleteThe last card really made my day -- smart was that!!
ReplyDeleteA threefer, Darnell ... from one little funky stamp ... how splendid! The first one with the rainbow glossified trees and sweet wooden house is so cute ... and how fun and whimsical is that second zesty birthday card! Brilliant use of the leaf canopy for that last card ... who would see Marie Antoinette hair ... well, you, of course, clever thing ... had me laughing out loud! LYAMYLALMA ... LTNS ... HAACS? Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteVery imaginative idea to use your tree as an over-the-top bouffant hairdo! Great cards all around. I'd better get cracking on mine before the deadline!
ReplyDeleteSweet card....love your swirly trees, so colorful. Thank you so much for playing along with us at Time Out!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post, Darnell! Thank you for the laughs--hard to come by these days! That tree is so cute & I love each of your cards!
ReplyDeleteSuch a super cute tree to use for the three unique, fun and creative cards x.
ReplyDeleteOh Darnell, the cards are just brilliant. Who else would have seen a Marie Antoinette hair style in that tree and so appropriate when this pandemic has made getting to the hairdressers a lot more difficult! I'm still chuckling over Lucy's summation of 2020 - though I'm trying not to worry too much about what October, November and December have in store for us 😨! Thanks for the chuckle in the mean time!
ReplyDeleteYour tree makes awesome hair. Love it. Fabulous cards. I agree, September probably started much earlier. Take care, keep safe. Hugz
ReplyDeleteI love your fairy trees especially from the first card. Anyway, the whole scenery that you created on this card looks great. And only you could see the afro hairstyle in this tree :-) Such a funny card :-)
