Panda Posies and Preggers

Greetings, Stamplings!

I hope you are having a lovely weekend! Along with all the beautiful blossoms this time of year comes all the unbeautiful allergies! I don't usually suffer from allergies, although the Mister does, but today my eyeballs were not happy about some pollen or other. God bless all your sneezey noses!

Onefer
Speaking of sneezey noses, I hope you can see the little bouquet of posies that the sweet panda bear is smelling. His name is Razzle and he's going over Hill and under Dale to dazzle his friend Parsnip. Right now he is having a bit of a sit down to wait out the rain shower so he doesn't get his posies or his toesies wet.

I used lots of snippets and different companies for this one. The umbrella and raindrops are from Simon Says Stamp, "Umbrella Shaker." Part of the die makes raindrops so I used the negative as a stencil to lightly pounce raindrops in the background using (what else) PTI's Spring Rain ink.

The NBUS panda is from Fiskars, "Day at the Zoo." The NBUS "friend" is from "Friends Forever" by Clearly Besotted and the rest of the NBUS sediment is from Hero Arts.

It looks like someone is having a baby!
I used my NBUS stitched frame dies from Die-Namics. The young mother-to-be is a sweet image sent to me with several others by my friend Aileen. (Thank you, Aileen!) The sediment is from Your Next Stamp, "Whatnot Sentiments Four."

I thought this stamped image (which I colored with Ziggies and pencils) would be perfect for this week's CASology challenge which is "Grow!" I'm also entering the current Your Next Stamp color challenge and the first anniversary (congratulations CWS!) challenge at Creative With Stamps which is "Baby."

A Bit of a Breakie Poo

I'm going to step away from the computer for a coupla weeks or so. I can't believe it's almost May. I'm either slowing way down or Father Time is on speed ~ prolly both!

So what's happened is I feel like I'm never going to finish my big box of half-made cards or try out my long list of techniques if I don't take a break from Blogland. It really is true that we see lots more squirrels as we get older and you talented artists keep distracting me with more all the time! I need to dedicate some time for concentrating on those things you've already inspired me to create.

Not to mention that it's spring which means purging and cleaning are calling me. I've been making cards and blogging the last few years and now things in both the Bighouse and the Playhouse really need a good Purge and Polish.

I will be checking my emails/comments from you. If you do a post that you know I'd love to see, please feel free to send me an email to let me know. Otherwise, I'll be back to visit your blogs and challenges before you know it! Hammy and I will be rejuvenated and spiffed up with a lot of cards to share!

I hope! You know what happens to the best-laid plans ... and besides, I'll miss you, so we'll see how long I can stay away!💋

~~~
Enjoy your days to come!  No, seriously, enjoy!  LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower!
  1. Two fantastic cards, Dolly!! Love that sweet panda with the fun and flowery umbrella. Awesome design! And your second card is so sweet and wonderfully coloured!
    Enjoy your break. I hope you get to try out some fun techniques and work your way through your NBUS products. It's so fun to get messy when experimenting. Will miss you. Lolly xx
  2. I was a bit alarmed when I read "preggers" in the subject - I thought you were going to make a BIG (and pretty miraculous) announcement!
    Have a lovely, creative and rewarding break - see you the other side.
  3. Wow, Darnell, I hope Razzle waited long enough to keep those posies and toesies dry. Love the story and love the card. The umbrella wouldn't help much around here, I'm afraid. A snow shovel would be more appropriate (unfortunately). But you've added a bit of Spring with that wonderful umbrella and those posies. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
  4. Two fabbyliscious cards this morning, Darnell. Thanks for the heads up about your bloggy break - enjoy! Though, frankly, I'd rather be blogging than cleaning!!! Fancy coming round to mine and doing the same afterwards? PLEEEEEZ!
  6. Two beautiful cards, Darnell. I love the cute panda on the first one and the lovely scene you've created. Great idea using the raindrop die negative as a stencil - I'm having a 'why didn't I think of that' moment here. Super image and design on your second card too, perfect for a Mum-to-be. Enjoy your blogging break. - don't stay away too long! xx
  7. Well that put my mind at ease, the preggers in my feed got me all hot under the collar!There's a lot of it around at the moment, 3 of us at card class are expecting grandchildren in October!
    Good luck with the spring clean, we shall miss your incisive comments!
    Two fab cards by the way! :)
  12. First, I have to say, two very adorable cards here Darnell . . . especially that first one, he's so darn sweet!! Secondly, but by no means, least . . . . we are sure going to miss you and your wit gracing blog-land each day! But we all need to take time for other things and, as you say, time races on at head spinning speed and visiting blogs and commenting does take up a great deal of time (happy time, but, time nonetheless), so, you get done all that you need to do and be sure to also use the time to rest up a bit and re-charge your batteries. We will all be here waiting eagerly for your return to show us all the lovely cards that you have made during your break! Have a lovely Sunday and a restful break! Love & Hugs.   18. This panda with his posies is adorable. Love that umbrella, it looks like spring showers. Your congrats card is cute too. A fun image and I love the little gold hearts. I will miss your cheerful comments every day but I think I'm about to take a little break too. It is time to tackle the garage and I have put it off long enough. It is a weight around my neck and I can't seem to move forward until I do it. So I know what you are saying. I can't be inside making cards when I know what the garage looks like.
  19. your cards are so nice!
    love them
    have a nice day
  20. Very cute cards, both very different and super nice!
    It is always a good idea to take the time you need to create. Then later you can come back and share. Enjoy!
    ReplyDelete
  21. Your cards are both so cute, and I love that decorative umbrella along with those tiny pink raindrops! Adorable!!
    Wishing you a nice break from the computer. I'm trying to push myself in that direction to see if I can't find some inspiration to get creative again. I sometimes try too hard and end up not liking much of anything. I look around at the windows, curtains and draperies and know I need to spruce up too! Enjoy your time away - I'll miss you! Mwah! Enjoy :)
    ReplyDelete
  22. Enjoy your time off. Not that it's really time off because you'll be working and cleaning. Don't get distracted. Then you'll get no where. But, you'll have a good time. Spring cleaning is so much fun after you're done. And finishing ½ done cards will feel pretty good too.
    Let us know if you really do need for us to send some "congratulations" cards on the preggers! Hammy might like being an older brother. Snort!
  23. Love your cards, Darnell - especially the panda one (How cute is he??)!!! Have a fruitful, fulfilling, and mindful couple of weeks - I know exactly what you are saying about needing to concentrate on what we already have rather than looking for the next exciting thing! Take care!
  24. Hi Darnell,
    2 wonderful cards and beautifully created as usual.
    They are both gorgeous.
    You take care with your break and the spring cleaning.
    Don't overdo things.
    I ended up with a horrible cold and a bad back after our bathroom refit to a wet room.
    Still trying to get ontop of all the dust that came with it all.
    Now that conjures up a picture of me lying ontop of the dust. He! He!
    I'm sure that's what will come to your mind when you read this. LOL.
    Love and big crafty hugs from my house to yours. Jenny L.
  26. You & I both need that elusive Blog Writing Genie I just can't find! You're more disciplined than I am--I've always known that! Have done tiny bits of organizing/purging & at this rate I'll need to live to 200 to finish, but at least it's more than I was doing. Thought of going back to just putting cards in Flickr, but would loose too many friends & don't have many in person anymore. Anyway--I really love your creative, cute panda card (I'd use an umbrella like that!) & brilliant card for the "grow" challenge! Cheers, my friend!
  27. Two fabulous cards Darnell. I adore the cute panda with his sweet umbrella and the stencilled raindrops, and the grassy knoll is perfect as a base for the sentiments. The lovely little lady getting ready to welcome the new arrival is so prettily coloured and the litle baby grow in her hand coordinates beautifully with the bright yellow stitched frames, so fresh and pretty. I'm sorry you have been pollinated, if you know what I mean..lol, but hopefully whatever is affecting you will be gone soon. Luckily I have never suffered in this way but can imagine how horrid it must be, but maybe if yours came out of the blue I will also be sneezing shortly. Enjoy your break from blogland too. We will miss you but it's good to take a break to catch up on things, but hope you won't be away for too long. x
  42. Two amazing cards D, and a brilliant description to go with the first one but really had me worried about the second one, thought it was going to be a late in life miracle, or it was Hammy.
    Only the kitchen and my craft-room left to be Spring cleaned here, luckily Hubby will do the kitchen while I do my craft room, well don't want him stumbling across any receipt that I may have forgotten to destroy.
    Enjoy?
And your preggers card is perfect! I know you're bound to find a use for it soon enough. I love the circle frame within the rectangle. Take your break and enjoy the heck out of it! Sometimes I think the blogging takes longer than stamping. It will be fun for the rest of us to see what you got up to while you were away.
  51. Two wonderful cards for all those challenges, glad to see my little card and accessories arrived ok. I so know what you mean with all the challenges, there are so many techniques to try out. Never enough time, especially if you are trying to use NBUS as well before the next lot arrive. Spring cleaning ahh yes I did that once a few years ago. Still recovering from this shocking cough so not card making. Catching up on visiting blogs and of course colouring. Problem is using all the coloured images and backgrounds, its so hard isnt it, being a crafter. Lol take care and enjoy the break, not too much of course. We want you back
  66. I always love seeing your cards and reading your posts, but the panda and pregnancy cards are so fun that I had to comment this time. I have a real soft spot for pandas....because who wouldn't, right? I also have a lot of friends who are expecting and this card is adorable. The teeny tiny onesie makes it even more ridiculously cute, if that's possible. Have a fun break from blogland and good luck with your spring cleaning.
  71. Your cards today are inspiring. That roundish Panda looks sweet enough to hug and your mama-to-be is lovely. I like your idea of taking a break for awhile. Sometimes I think I need a break from the entire computer thing so that I can focus on other things. I spend WAAAY to many hours online.   73. I see that you left us wanting more, as you take a break from blogland. That nosegay sniffing panda is in better shape than I, or he has better allergy meds at any rate. These pollen filled breezes aren't doing me any favors, which gives me even more of an excuse to hole up in my craft room, right? You are more disciplined than I am, as you organize and purge your craft room supplies. Purging never works for me when it comes to craft goodies because I feel that I need everything (yes, even those 2"x2" scraps of paper, and the stamps that I last used in 1990). Have a productive time off and impress us with all your completed cards when you return, okay?!!
  74. Brilliant snippets card Darnell - and your twofer is great as well. Parsnip wants to know where your bear got such an odd suntan from!
    You'll be sorely missed in Blogland - but here's hoping you're back with a new spring in your step before too long!
    Got your lovely email hun, will reply ASAP.
    Great to see you in the Playground again!
  75. Oh that panda...went and found it immediately (like I need another animal stamp set...right?) But he's so adorable with his posies. The perfect guy for this darling card. And the "grow" card...clever girl. Very appropriate using an Earth Mother for Earth Day. LOVE her. Hope you feel a little relief from the pollen parade, as I call it. It's horrendous here, as well.
    Have a fun and productive break. No one deserves it more than you. See you when you return.
  78. Oh good for you for taking a break Darnell although I will miss your posts - but I truly understand. I have a list of techniques to try that's as long as my arm and it is really hard to find time to focus on trying them out when your head is filled with "what can I do for my next blog post?!" At least that's how it works for me.
    Love your two cards, particularly LOVE the gorgeous Panda with his posies and toesies and that super cute umbrella. He is adorable.
  85. Two great cards Darnell, I love your use of dies and that panda is adorable, I love the scene you made for him! Did you know that Fiskars comes from my homecountry Finland? :) I hope to see you soon again after your blogging break.
  86. A duo of sweetness, Darnell ... that little panda is particularly adorable, keeping Parsnip's posy dry under that cute floral brolly ... hope she appreciates it! Take your time with the purging and polishing, my friend ... we'll all be here when you and Hammy get back, all spiffy and raring to go! LYAMYHBITSWY! Hugs & bisous, Anita :)
    Sounds like a wonderful idea. I know what you mean about unfinished projects. i need to go through mind and completely kit them up and pack them up for the lake. Then I would be forced to finish them!!!
  98. Really hope your enjoying your break from Blogland and are nearly half-way thru your box of 'nearly made' cards. I recently had nearly two weeks of no internet but didn't have time to make any cards as the kids were rather lost with no internet as well. Secretly I'd love to take a month off blogging and DT's to just make cards for challenges and try out techniques etc, it would be a wonderful idea but won't ever happen. I hope your allergies are better too and your not all red eyed and runny nosed (not very attractive). Its coming into Winter here so soon I will be runny nosed all the time!! Just wanted to say hi, send you hugs and look forward to seeing your wonderful cards soon!!
Only so much we can handle coming at us in this interconnected world, you know?! So glad you played along at THD-- I LOVE your card-- one of my favorites of yours-- and it is just perfect for our challenge! Once you have some time away, come back and play more in June, or whenever!! Smooches!
