If I make a CASE of one of my own cards, can I copyliment myself as a DJKASE?
Interesting concept and that's just prezackly what I did for class homework today. A special artist joined in the class videos and she made a brilliant card using the one and only watercoloring technique that I have attempted in the past. The one where you use markers and water and paint your watercolor scene.
Like this one I did:
You can find the first one I ever did here, back in April 2012. Wow, I can't believe that was two years ago! I hope to do this technique more often after this as I think it's easy and fun and looks cool. The hardest part is having 27 stamps and markers strewn all over your desk. It's funny that IRL you can't hardly see the watering can handle, but on the camera-doesn't-lie-monitor, you can. Next time I will mask it off.
For my scene, I colored directly onto the stamps and then gently dabbed with a water brush after stamping. The stamps are a combination of a NBUS set from Rubbernecker called "Create A Garden," Rubber Stamp Tapestry, SU, and Stamps by Judith. The sediment is SU. The sweet frame of dotty vellum is a snippet from GKW from my ancient stash and the ribbon is PTI "Winter Wisteria."

For my sketch inspiration I used this week's CASE Study work of art by the ultra-uberly talented Wida Miller, our Muse! This is her inspiration card for us to CASE (copy and share everything).

Beautiful CASE of your own card Darnell! I love that watercoloring technique too, easy peasy lemon squeezy! But it looks like you worked really hard on it.
Fabulous job - this looks handpainted!
An Uber der Top card. Love the coloring of the flowers in the water can.
You're rocking the water coloring class with beauties like this! LOVE it!

So pretty, Darnell! Sigh, I still am so far behind. Fortunately I have a lifetime to catch up. Hope that'll be a long time. I'm gonna need it! Meanwhile, Jack is doing great with watercoloring!
Wow, Darnell, when the original is gorgeous, why not do a DJKASE and make it gorgeous-er? Beautiful work!
This is absolutely gorgeous Darnell! I love this technique and think I need to get an AI set to try this. I tried putting a few images to make a scene and it totally didn't cut it!!
Oh my, what a BEAUTY this is, Darnell! Your flowers are absolutely gorgeous, and I love how 'natural' everything appears on your scene! Somehow, you also managed to maintain your classic clean design, too...I am so impressed! A+++ for you, girl!!!
BEAUTIFUL card Darnell! You created such a soft and delicate looking image, but yet the color just makes it all "POP"! Very nicely done! :0)
GORGEOUS, lady! I love the image and you did a great job with the watercoloring. I love it!

GAW-GEOUS, Darnell. Wow! I love it. I used to do water coloring with a brush and haven't tried it in soooo long. I need to have a go at it again.
I had to delete some of my comments. It just would not publish and I kept pressing "Publish your comment" and it did....three times. Ugh!
What's better for a watering color class than a watering can? You did a great job with the technique. I haven't gotten to the marker one yet. I'm having so much fun getting inky that I'm behind on my visiting.
This is beautiful Darnell, such a pretty result. (SASS also stands for School Ancillary Support Staff, that's me!) The class looks like a lot of fun, Cathy x
