Watercolor Watering Can DJKASE ~ NBUS #130

Hello my friends!

If I make a CASE of one of my own cards, can I copyliment myself as a DJKASE?

Interesting concept and that's just prezackly what I did for class homework today. A special artist joined in the class videos and she made a brilliant card using the one and only watercoloring technique that I have attempted in the past. The one where you use markers and water and paint your watercolor scene.

Like this one I did:
You can find the first one I ever did here, back in April 2012. Wow, I can't believe that was two years ago! I hope to do this technique more often after this as I think it's easy and fun and looks cool. The hardest part is having 27 stamps and markers strewn all over your desk. It's funny that IRL you can't hardly see the watering can handle, but on the camera-doesn't-lie-monitor, you can. Next time I will mask it off.

For my scene, I colored directly onto the stamps and then gently dabbed with a water brush after stamping. The stamps are a combination of a NBUS set from Rubbernecker called "Create A Garden," Rubber Stamp Tapestry, SU, and Stamps by Judith. The sediment is SU. The sweet frame of dotty vellum is a snippet from GKW from my ancient stash and the ribbon is PTI "Winter Wisteria."

~~~
For my sketch inspiration I used this week's CASE Study work of art by the ultra-uberly talented Wida Miller, our Muse! This is her inspiration card for us to CASE (copy and share everything).
Since I used snippets, I am taking my watering can over to Pixie's Snippets Playground to show my playmates if they aren't too engrossed in the baby lambs and lilacs.
Also, I'm entering the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is to feature flowers.
That's a SASS (short and sweet as sassafras) wrap from me today.
I'm going to continue with the class but take a day off from posting. It will give you a chance to catch up with my posts and it will give me the chance to catch up with you! Click here: Online Card Class to register for the class if I have done a good job of encouraging you to take it! I don't think it's too late and it's hella fun!!
Enjoy your days! No, seriously, enjoy.  LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment and/or join as a follower! Please let me know you came by, so I can be sure and return the flavor!
Beautiful CASE of your own card Darnell! I love that watercoloring technique too, easy peasy lemon squeezy! But it looks like you worked really hard on it.
I had to delete some of my comments. It just would not publish and I kept pressing "Publish your comment" and it did....three times. Ugh!
What's better for a watering color class than a watering can? You did a great job with the technique. I haven't gotten to the marker one yet. I'm having so much fun getting inky that I'm behind on my visiting.
