Grungilicious! NBUS #127

Hi everyone!

Well, we've whooshed around to another Friday and another month! Welcome to May!! Yah-ikes!

We've had company and the Mister and I took off for a few days of MS and R&R. We went over to the coast and were blessed with the most gorgeous warm weather and clear views. I haven't had a chance to upload (download?) my photos yet, but I'll share them next time. I've managed to upload some laundry, does that count for anything?

As great as it was to be disconnected and rejuveniled, I was happy to get back to the Playhouse and make a card for a few challenges!

Here is a nongrunger's silly attempt at grunge:
My card is "soft grunge," G-rated, gentle, and domesticated. I promise it is grunge, because the NBUS stamp set from SU is called "So Grunge!" So there. Oh, no, wait a sec, sorry, it's called "Gorgeous Grunge." It looks so tame against the amazing art you expert grungologists create!

The SU stamp set came just in time for me to play in one of my favorite challenges:

Addicted to CAS
I also noticed that Wida Miller, one of my favorite card artists, is being featured at CASE Study! This is her inspiration card for us to CASE (copy and share everything).
Over at the Fusion Card Challenge, this is the fun inspiration and sketch:
If you look closely at the panel on my card, you will see embossed chevron bits. I just followed the sketch this time.

And Pals Paper Arts provided me with just the right colors for my grunge attempt:

I have to scoot for now, but I'll leave you with this sensational (if I do say so myself) photo I took:
California Poppies overlooking the Northern California Coast

I had to get down on my belly like a snake to take this,
which must have been quite amusing to the cars passing by!
Actually, watching me get up would be the amusing part!!
I am sorry that I haven't been around to see you for several days. I hope to have some time this weekend to visit. And I hope you have been enjoying your days! Enjoy this day! No, seriously, enjoy.  LITS!*

As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment and/or join as a follower! Please let me know you came by, so I can be sure and return the flavor!

Totally love your gorgeous grunge card, Miss D.!! Those colors together just call my name - might have to pull them out. That heart makes me happy with all its little splatters behind the sentiment! I noticed the chevvies right away, and love how you've got your twine right in line (poet, poet, poet..!) over a row of those sweet chevvies. Great card, my friend!! Bev

Hi Darnell

Your time away sounds like it was lovely .. .. and a special time.

Always good to get back to the old crafty environment though isn't it. I hate it when I'm not making things.

Loving your card very much. Fabby background.

Have a lovely weekend.

Great card - love the colours, the textures and the GRUNGE. What a great photo you took - not just the poppies but that coastal view WOW!!! Being away from the sea is the hardest thing about living in Luxembourg. Not that I'm a real beach person, but I do miss the sea air and the ocean. Your photo is like a breath of fresh sea air. Thank you

I'm going to call your card "grungeous"! It's just right. The arrow across the bottom was the perfect Crumb Cake touch. Thanks for joining us at the Pals Paper Arts this week!

I don't 'do grunge', but I appreciate the grungy art that others do. Now this one is definitely MY style of grunge. I could do this kind! It's pretty (sorry, just hadda say that!) Like the clean lines, the colors, and yes, I know the stamp was gorgeous grunge. It is too! Rest up and glad you had some fun time. Enjoyed the bright orange poppies too. You're a good photographer. Glad you're back on base camp once more. TFS, Hugs & Happy wkend.

Your soft grunge card is sweet - like you. Play with the stamps I think it must be like finger painting but no yucky fingers. I think it is addicting but not fattening like a bag of potato chips. The photo is perfect. I am on vacation for a few days.

Seriously, Darnell, you make me giggle every time I visit! I love your G-rated soft grunge card! I also adore your amazing photograph, wow! As for the uploaded laundry... perhaps you'll come and do something about my laundry pile when you're done? I'll make you a cup of tea and cake as payment. ;-) Thanks for joining us at Fusion!

Your 'soft-grunge, G-rated' card is grunge-ilicious! I've not tried such a technique (is that what it is? or style?) because I don't know what it means, but after seeing yours, I may have try, even though splatters and 'randomness' kind of freak me out! I believe this little number qualifies you entry into the realm of grungologists. Truly, a delightful, fun, super cool card! Hugs~c

Ooops...forgot to comment on your gorgeous photo of flowers. Beautiful! Maybe we'll see flowers here...in July, maybe August *grin*...Hugs~c
