A quick post, peeps. Today is Mister's Burpday and we've got plans to hit a concert, maybe do a little twerking, and then have dinner at the San Francisco Ritz Carlton. I'm sure I don't see what's so funny, nor how you know I'm lying.
Today I made a card for the current challenge at Case Study where the muse inspiration comes from the uber-talented Kathy Racoosin!
Here is my card:
A while back my bloggie friend and amazing card artist Kim M. of Art Keeps Me Sane used a poinsettia image on a beautiful card. When I commented on how much I loved it, she generously stamped off several images and sent them to me. Another example of this kind and caring stamping community we blog in! Thank you, Kim, my poinsettia pal!
I used one of the images which Kim had white-embossed on vellum. I colored it in summery nontraditional pinks, cut it out, and popped it on my card. I'm sorry the coloring looks blotchy. It's much less so IRL. (We had a very unusual cloudy and rainy day here for the last day of summer.) The center of the poinsettia is colored with a sparkly Wink of Stella clear pen, today's NBUS.
I'm thinking that if I made a pen and it had two black rings in the center and the instructions say to remove "the" black ring in the center before using, well, that's not very helpful, is it? It might be a better idea to leave one of the black bits uncolored, just clear plastic, so there is only the one black ring in the center. Is what I'm thinking. Thank you. (Also, I'm thinking it's poseeblay that I am the only one confused enough to be confused by it.)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! No, seriously, enjoy. LITS*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment and/or join as a follower!

Love that pretty poinsettia Dippy - how great does it look embossed onto vellum; how kind of Kim. Love your non-traditional colours as well. You're definitely not the only one caught by "the" black ring doodah on the WoS pens....got me too!

Happy birthday Mister!
Your poinsettia is STUNNING - and what the heck with that pen? Shaking my head over those directions.
Also, if there DOES happen to be twerking, please let us know. I don't think that would be good for your back though ;)
Gorgeous pointsettia! Happy twerking :)
Wonderful card - hope you enjoyed the twerking! LOL! YK!

I love the soft colors of the poinsettia! Such a pretty card! I think these manufacturers are intent on driving us crazy! If they only knew how crazy we already are, they wouldn't have to bother!
I love the softness the vellum gives the card, and it doesn't look blotchy, just shaded. Don't tell anyone but when they were talking about Miley and her twerking I had to look it up on the internet. Please don't do it in public. ;)
What a soft and delicate poinsettia Darnell!! Amazing work!!
Fantastic card
and gorgeous poinsenttia
love it
hugs Tamara
Oh, Darnell...This is just soooo lovely!!!
I loved your soft pinky toned poinsettia. I've seen this color IRL, and your 'blotches' as you call 'em, looked very realistic. The real pinks I saw, looked the same..not even shading as the reds are. And very pretty too. As was this card! Yes, cardmakers are such generous folks. This was gorgeous done on the vellum. And yes, I was cornfused - but that is usual for me! TFS & Hugs
Gorgeous!!! The pinks are perfect & I certainly don't see flaws!!!
