Trees and More Trees and a Blog Hop Winner!

Greetings!

I was away a bit longer than planned as we enjoyed having the boys stay on after Thanksgiving to help with decorating for Christmas. It's so much fun and so appreciated!

I don't know where the last two days went, just one thing led to another. And then yesterday there was the small matter of the kitchen sink pipe overflowing inside the wall and seeping through the baseboards into the family room, around the corner into the living room, and under the piano. Then you wish your own kid, your neighbor's kid, your nephew or niece, or anyone you know had become a plumber . . . !

So how's everyone else humpin' on this Wednesday, eh? This very last day of November. Now it is full-on the time of year when we're not-even-kidding busy! I mean, seriously, this is all-hands-on-deck for card artists who make holiday cards. And when you only have two hands and two paws, there aren't enough hours in the day!

Which means I'll stop chatting and away we go.

Love those trees with the patterns, especially the plaid...great masculine take. YOur twofer tree looks alot like the altenew tree, love the silver treatment you have given it. And your last card with the acetate panel...very pretty. lol on the red circles.

I am down to needing 7 more cards before I start the business of addressing them, and mailing which I hope to have done by Friday. Wish me luck and stamina!

Congrats to the winner of your giveaway! Enjoy your new goodies. Oh so sorry to hear about the plumbing issues. That is So NOT fun! Hope everything got fixed and you are right as rain, now. Hey, have you been getting any rain? My dad said earlier this week he got a good soaking rain. I know it's desperately needed. Your cards are beautiful. You've got some lovely tree stamps in your stash. I really like the snowflake/acetate one, too. Great card idea! Have a good rest of your week and may your plumbing problems go away! Hugs!!

What a sweet bunch of cards today Darnell! I'm glad you circled the snowflakes. They do look marvelous though my weary eyes didn't see them at first. I'm so sorry to hear about your little kitchen mishap. Perhaps you could teach Hammy to turn a wrench. ;0)

How fun to have your Grands to help you decorate!

I absolutely love the simplicity of today's cards. I've had my eye on that wonky border for some time -- it doesn't know it, but it's to be mine when it's back in stock at SSS. So I was about to tell you how much I like the first 3 cards, when I saw the next one. White on white with a splash of silver and sparkle -- how perfect! They're all getting pinned to Pinterest for future reference.

Oh no, your plumbing issue does not sound good - hope you managed to get it all sorted....

Love your cards, so CAS but so very effective, they are all beautiful. Thanks for pointing out the snowflakes, I bet they look beautiful in real life! I do love white on white for Christmas...

Congratulations to Trina P on her win! Hugs, Annie xx

Wow lots of inspiration here today! I love the trees at the top and the fantasic random (somewhat) sewing around the edges. Beautiful cards Darnell! The water issue doesn't sound like fun, hopefully it was fixed quickly and not much damage in your home. Take good care, Hugs, Shirleyxx

Wonderful selection of cards Darnell! Each one is fabulous - and your snippets card is so elegant. My guess is that you used linen finish card for it, the texture looks lovely - I keep forgetting that I've got a whole bunch of card in white linen finish. Email on the way ASAP btw!

Fabulous cards Darnell! The time is definitely going at double speed I think ... Here we are on the last day of November already! So sorry about your leaking sink ... What a mess and at this time of year too! As it happens I am lucky enough to have a brother who is a plumber and electrician and can fix just about anything else ... oh I love that guy! I do hope you get things sorted ... it could be worse ... You could be freezing here in Liverpool! Big hugs!

Fabulous trees Darnell and I adore the snowflake embossed acetate strip with the pretty swiss dots in the background, a great selection of cards. Sorry to hear of your plumbing issues and hope it is all fixed now. I think any problem connected to water flowing where you'd rather it didn't is horrendous, but at least in California it dries out quicker than in the frosty cold damp English winter...lol, as it was well below zero last night but even with the sun today still lots of frost hanging about. Joking apart I hope it's all fixed now. Finally congratulations to Trina for winning your very generous prize. x

How fun that the boys stayed over and got Christmas started with you. I do love those cards, especially the sparkly tree. I hope the sink episode is all taken care of now. What a pain things like that are. Congratulations to Trina!

Gorgeous cards, Darnell, and you're far "on top of it" than I am!!! A little vacay and a "procedure" wrongfully scheduled for this time of year makes seeing in circles, I do believe... Anywho, loving those fabulous trees, especially the last embossed one -- oh but I did see one embossed snowflake on the middle challenge without your assist!

Sue - said...

Oh dear Darnell, hope you got your plumbing sorted, that's the last thing you need at this time of year. Still you managed to find time to make three gorgeous cards, but have to admit that the second one is my fave! Hugs xx

Love your super elegant gallery of Christmas makes here, so glistening and festive. Thanks for sharing over at the Uniko challenge too. Sarah x

You and me both on a tree-theme jag for our Christmas cards! Love yours, especially the "Twofer". So sorry to hear about the plumbing problems - I had a blocked kitchen sink recently (at least it didn't cause damage like yours did) and I had exactly the same thought - why did no-one I know become a plumber? I hope yours is all fixed now!

Plumbing problems? I think the solution is to move! Right? Seems the easiest route...

Awesome cards. I think we've all resorted to batch making these days. My mom hit me up for some cards so I made her some via a One Sheet Wonder. It was fun but I wouldn't want to do a ton of cards like that. Kind of seems chore like.

I'm glad you circled the embossed snowflakes or no way would I have seen them. But now that I've seen them I can say they are waaaay too cool! So cool they're hot!

I have to start commenting by the last card. :-) Fabulous heat embossing on acetate. Wau! All your cards with the trees are so nice and so festive with the snow. I like them all.

Oh Christmas tree...Oh Christmas...how lovely are your branches! Will be humming this song all day long now :)

Fabulous onefer of a,b,c trees - one of my favorite stamps! In fact, I'm using it (again) this year for my co-worker gift tags!

Your twofer is exactly as you say...silver and soooooo elegantly stunning!

The 3-fer took my breath away! Soooo cool with the clear panel, pretty swirl and the embossed flakes on the acetate...that I would have missed had it not been for the red circles (and the mention of it in your post).

Wow, did you ever add to your C/Card stash with these! Love the trees on the first set (and yes I'll ask if that was a die, or did you stamp on DP?) Got a lot of snippets in place too, so prettily used. Love each one of these, but the acetate design - awesome! Good luck with the plumbing. Know perzackly what you mean about having a nice plumber. That's how our bathroom reno started earlier this year! Hope you don't have too much damage to repair and that your workers show up as scheduled!!! Best to Hammy & K...and so glad you had a good holiday with the family. TFS & Hugs

Love your batch of tree cards, or would that be a grove of them?? Either way, what a quick but fabulous design to make in multiple patterns and colors. Your second card design is just gorgeous!! The traditional tree image and the elegant silver mat and embossing make for a truly elegant. That last card really threw me for a loop until I read your description of it because I thought it was two separate pieces that busily defied gravity by being held up with a die cut flourish! I didn't even see the acetate at all! Thanks for taking the time, in between mopping up and hoping for a plumber to appear on our doorstep, to share with us.
