Good Intentions (Hiccup!)

Hello, my stampling dumplings!

I feel like there is a bit of a hush around. Have you noticed?

It's the quiet of waiting for the season to change its outfit, depending on where in the world you live.

It's the quiet between the loud happy screams of summer and the somber soberness of school starting and homework.

It's the hush of expectancy in Blogland as new companies pop up, challenges restart, and transitions happen within design teams.

It's the holding our breaths while squinting at the calendar, unready to accept that Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are very nearly rear-ending us.

Such deep thoughts and the hush of everyone sleeping has left me thus:
Yup, bubbles and booze, baby. Throw in a crown and a magic wand and what more does a girl need? If that were me lounging in a martini glass, however, my heels would have been kicked off. But hey, good for her for keeping her's on!

The swirlie-girlie is "Stella With an Olive on Top" from Stamping Bella and the NBUS sediment is "Meant to Behave" from Impression Obsession. I colored with my Ziggies, embossed with my Cuttlebug bubble e/f, and backed the whole thing up with a piece of peacock-colored PP.

See No Evil ...

I have to share this incredible photo:
When the kids were picking up new puppy Jack, our son Dan walked around the place giving some love to the other puppies and taking photos. He happened to grab this shot (that's his hand in the foreground) which has not been photo-shopped in any way. I mean, what are the chances that these puppies would get themselves configured in such a way that the puppies on each side had a paw over the eyes of the middle puppy, just as Dan snapped the photo?! Amazing and soooo funny!

~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower! Please let me know you came by, so I can be sure and return the flavor!
Hi Darnell. Hopefully there will be a bit more summer weather here before Autumn hoves into view. I love Stella coloured so prettily and the bubbles go beautifully with the theme, and a great sentiment too, really made me smile. What a great photo Dan took of the puppies, he captured that moment so perfectly, what are the chances? x
YEP!! That's me in that martini glass!! Cute card!! cute picture of the pups
Such a cute card. Love all those bubbles. The sentiment is funny.
When I first glanced at the puppies photo I thought it was another dog sticking his nose in the cage because the first quick glance looked like the shape of a dog's head and snout from the group. Pretty funny photo of them covering their mates eyes.
Great card, Darnell! She's quite the talented gal to end up in the glass with her shoes still on. Ha, ha! That photo is fantastic! I thought there was a dog looking through to the other dogs for a split second. Then I read what you wrote and realized it was a hand. Too funny. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend. Hugs!
There is a hush. My hush is one of anticipation, and if I open my mouth, I'll scream a scream that could be heard 'round the world. A good scream, though. Looking forward to family and friends later on! Anyhoo... Love the image of Stella in the martini glass, and what a perfect sentiment!!! That's how big I want my next margarita to be, lol! What a fantastic card, my friend. And I think that should be our motto, in addition to being a fantastic sentiment. Have a marvelous weekend sweetie pie!! Bev
OMGOSH Darnell, I nearly had coffee spewing from my nose, when I read the sentiment on your card! LOVE it.
The Hush around here is almost deafening.....the wait is on....but yes, those holidays are already starting to clamor for attention.
What a perfect photo of the dogs, and what good timing on your son's part to get THAT photo!
Have a super great weekend!
Dear me...definitely no heels. Think this gal's balance is commendable considering she's probably half in the bag. I know I would be. The card, of course, is stinkin' cute. And the colors....well, perfect.
I love this card Darnell! So fun and it really made me giggle... it's the perfect sentiment for several of my naughty friends! Great way to use the peacock colours of our challenge too. Thanks for playing with us at Less is More :)
Great observation and so true, the quiet hush! When I was slugging my garbage cans back down the lane today I noticed that the top of my 200' trees are starting to turn--fall is coming! Your card is so fun and bubbly, with I could join you!
Inkyfingers said...
Well what he heck - it is Friday so if you want to swim in cocktails, go ahead I say! Perhaps the craw and wand should be left to one side though - you don't want to get them wet. I love this fun card Darnell and the sentiment cracks me up. I'll have to remember it for when I next forget to act my age. Dan really snapped a winner with that photo - it would be perfect for a caption competition.
Have a great weekend.
Love your bubbly background... just perfect for this stamp. I can just imagine the bubbles fizzing up her nose!
As for the dog photo... fabulous. Thanks for sharing. X
Verna Angerhofer said...
What a cool card and that sentiment sure had me chuckling!
Karenladd said...
Well that bubbly boozy fairy princess has more energy than me, that's certain! If it were I in the martini glass I would have my shoes off, wand on the floor, and head hanging over the edge with lots of zzzzzz's on the menu. What fun to emboss the image with all those dimensional fizzies to add to the celebration too.
My youngest granddaughter was born on Halloween so the upcoming months promise to be full of parties and craft inspiration. No hush around here!
Cornelia (fun stamping) said...
Getting philosophic, my friend, although your sentiment is just outright hilarious! Just up my alley!
What a great fun card. I love that sentiment. Let's hope we have a few more fine weeks before autumn arrives. What an adorable photo of the puppies. He might not be able to see but his tongue is working fine. Barbxx
That's a cute card, and I just love the sentiment. 😊👍
Aileen said...
great photo, poor puppy lol. I love your card Darnell, she says it all hic. Its funny as Autumn starts over there and things quiet down of course spring has hit here and already theres no need for the fire at night or cardigans during the day. Only wish I parents could understand that they don't need to heat the house so much, when Im there I have to go out on the balcony every 1/2 hour to cool down. I walk around in summer PJs just to stay cool (yes I change when I go out into the public arena) and mum keeps saying, are you warm enough.
Now Im keen as to do summer and spring cards and all I am seeing is Autumn. Take care Hugs Aileen
Susanne Vargas said...
Yes, I've noticed the hush, too but I couldn't have described it as well as you did! The card is loads of fun from the image to the sentiment! And that bubbly embossing folder is very fitting!
Fabulous card...but gotta be honest...the puppies stole the show in this post with their 'see no evil' pose!
Stella is apparently having one heck of a great time! Love the bubble ef - perfect backdrop for Stella's "booze tub"!
Funny thing - my sister's nickname (from her Gabore Girls Club) is Stella and she honestly wears heels to work almost every day! She's a bit of a teetotaler though, so it would have to be Pepsi in the glass!
Neets B said...
I think you're hiding something from us.....there is actually a big martini glass in the corner of your playhouse and this is you in between creating...yes?! This is such a fun card, Darnell, and I adore that sentiment, it's hilarious. Great use of the peacock colours and I feel honoured that you've interpreted my Muse card in such a fabulous way!
Thanks so much for playing along at LIM and Muse. Mwah xx
With my husband away in Easter Canada being Mr. Bike Racing Official (on the back of a BMW motorbike, BTW) and having barely survived the first four full days of back-to-work, that gal on your card could easily have been me last night! And it may have...no one will ever know *grin* Wands, crowns, booze and bubbles: love that combination! The trio of puppies...be still my want-a-puppy-loving heart! The paws covering poor middle guy's eyes makes for adorable; apparently, he still knew someone fabulous was taking his photo! Nothing like a puppy kiss! Hmmmm...wouldn't it be cool if, after one of his bike-racing or bike-trekking episodes (one is on his radar for next week - Tues thru Sunday), my husband came home and SURPRISE! Puppy in the house! Perhaps I'll put that on my shopping list...one mini schnauzer, salt-and-pepper...
