Enjoy Life ~ With Coffee

Greetings, drinkers!

Thanks in part to the coffee and tea industries we have whooshed around to another Friday! Do you know after today there are only TWELVE more Fridays until Christmas!

I'm sorry! Please get up slowly. I don't think your knee is meant to be bent that way, sweetie.

Here, have a cuppa:

A QACAS OLC full of cuteness and mischief. I don't drink a lot of coffee or have a lot of coffee stamps so I am very grateful to Hammy for coming up with this fun design!

The NBUS grinning Cheshire is from the "Joy to the World" stamp set by Penny Black. In the set, kitty is holding a Christmas present. I surgically removed the gift and now a NBUS coffee cup from "Hot Concoctions" by Paper Smooches is teetering in his hands. The sediment is from GKW. The Washi tape was applied twice as a border and then a wee piece of it was placed on the take-out coffee cup protection band. The schmear of ink covering the sediment is a NBUS stamp from "Jumbo Abstract Art" by MFT.

(I'm sitting here chuckling at that border. I simply laid down the first border strip near the card edge and then laid down the second strip without even trying to line up the pattern so I'm pretty chuffed that that happened!)

And I'm Off!

As a lot of you know, I get together with my sisters for a few days every year, so I'm flying off again to do that. This year I am traveling to the lakes of Minnesota to enjoy their company and see other relatives and friends. I'll be gone for a coupla weeks, so please let me know if you live in the MSP area and would like to meet!

Sadly this means my visits to you will not be happening again for a while. I feel like I've been such a bad bloggie friend this whole year and I'm very sorry about that. My hope is that next year I will be able to get back into my routine. I truly miss my visits and commenting. Thank you to all of you who have stayed steadfast and continue to visit me and leave me some love!

~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower! Please let me know you came by!
Well what a blinder of a card. Love it, the coffee cup balanced like that is perfect and the finishing touch of the washi tape, brilliant. Don't worry about being a slack year, everyone has one of those and we all love you too much to worry about that. Catch up when you can.
You HAD to say it, didn't you? You're just trying to make me feel guilty about not having started my Christmas shopping yet, and being WAY behind on making cards... ;-)
Speaking of cards. I ADORE yours. Your surgery was a 100% success, and I now feel I need both those stamps to be able to replicate this brilliant image.
Have a fantastic trip. x
What a cute PB Kitty Darnell and very clever surgery removing the parcel and inserting the coffee cup instead. I love your washi tape border and matching band on the cup. A fabulous card. Have a great time in Minnesota with your sisters and hope you manage to meet some bloggy friends whilst you are there too. x
Not a huge fan of coffee, other than the aroma, but am a fan of super cute cards and this is indeed a super cute card. That kitty makes me wanna smile big! I can imagine what Kitty is holding is a big cup of hot chocolate. That will make me go yum and enjoy life! :) Yay for lining things up on the first go round. I also really like the bit of the tape you added to the cup. Wonderful colors! I hope you have a fantastic time with your sisters! Big hugs to you!!
Surgery! I know you're not a real doctor - you only play one on your blog! This is a cute card and I love how you used that washi tape for a border and on the coffee cup to tie it altogether. You have had an exceptionally busy year and I think you kept up pretty well with comments. Enjoy the time spent with your sisters and friends. We'll be here anxiously waiting for you to return!
Adorable card, Darnell! Love the bright blue washi and brush stroke highlighting the sentiment - great details! The star, of course, is the cute critter and that CAS cup of coffee. Lucky you heading to Minnesota and getting to experience a little fall. Enjoy the sister time!
I love this card!!!! That washi tape as the border is fabulous, but as the expertly place coffee sleeve it is just brilliant. Love that kitty image, and I sure could use a cup o' joe that big this morning! Have a wonderful time in MN, and I just know you'll enjoy every single second! Missing you already... Bev
conil said...
Are you taking this card with you, or are your sisters non-coffee drinkers, as well? Actually love that you've used blue on your card. Been inundated lately with orange and brown and this color seems so much more restful. Apparently, you have a great eye for getting things strait. No amount of rulers or grid paper is ever going to work for me, so I admire your skill, greatly. Have a wonderful time on your visit...we'll be here when you return.
Joyce said...
This is certainly cute. Love how you've got that giant coffee cup balanced on your cute critter's head. Enjoy your travels. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.
You know if you had tried to line up that washi tape border it would have never happened. That is such a happy shade of blue for such a happy card. Of course we're all happy (happy and caffeinated).
Someone (don't remember who!) told me you were off on a Sister retreat, so I'm totally happy this is happening again! I well remember the last time you did that on my side of the country! So have a grand time. Loving your card. This is about the only Cat image I like (since I'm allergic to 'em) but this PB cat is one I love! How clever to do your magic with the coffee cup. (I'd never have guessed). So kudos to Hammy for his part in this design. Love your border. Another Cleverness! I've been neglecting you too, so apologies. Only got so many hours in the day (and I'm unorganized with it!). We'll do our best to stay in touch, huh? Big hugs & best wishes to D from us. TFS
What a fun card, and I have this stamp actually and never thought to take the present out and replace with something else. I am rubbish at stretching my stamps! And you do make me laugh Darnell... the Christmas countdown ARGGHH. Have a great time in Minnesota :)
Hi Darnell, Your 'hammie with coffee' card is fantastic and fun. I don't have any coffee stamps either, very creative how you changed up the gift for the cuppa. I quit coffee a long time ago when I was having trouble sleeping (early menopause and stressful job). When quit I realized that I was having caffeine withdrawal headaches every day and not from stress as I thought. Enjoy your vacation! Cheers xxx ps.. I have no idea how you could possibly keep up comments with over a 1,000 followers..
