Eeep! It's a Leeeap Year!

Hi there and happy fresh new Monday!

And a very HAPPY Birthday to all you Leap Year Babies! I couldn't let this day go by without making you a card and acknowledging this special day that you've waited four long years for!

So this one's for you!
At first I had a frog where the sun is, what with the whole "leaping" theme, but he was bigger than the kangaroo and Hammy was frightened by that. Poor guy, perspective and introspective are very important to him. So I exchanged the frog for a sun and even got 39 cents back in change. Those clouds drifted down from Canada, a card candy gift from my friend, Lolly.

The hills are NBUS from Poppystamps called "Stitched Landscapes," the sun is from Lil' Inkers. and the kangaroo is from Paper Smooches. I made him furry by dabbing brown, beige, and copper all over him with a cotton swab. He cooed like a baby and was so patient. I made the sediment on the foregroundmost hill on my pewter and then embarrassed embossed it with a "branches" e/f.

This is so darn cute Dolly!! LOVE your Roo ... great sponging, he looks so soft and cuddly (as long as he doesn't kick!). :) Such a cute scene and a great way to spread the love to those that only get to celebrate their birthdays every four years. Looking forward to the NBUS Challenge --- I'll be there! Lolly xx

Aw, absolutely lovely! I can see where Hammy was coming from with the frog, it would be a bit terrifying for the poor kangaroo if he thought a blooming enormous frog was about to come crashing down on his head. And the sunshine is just perfect there

Great card, and actually you might just have given me an idea (or not?).

I am doing hills and meant to emboss or embarrass wiht my branches and I forgot and stuck it down, now thinking I might be able to put another in front of it as you've done. Mm not sure it will work, will check it on the morrow as late here.
Thanks so much for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x

Haha! I'm imagining this card with a huge frog in place of the sun and just can't stop laughing. Poor Hammy must have nightmares for one or two nights after seeing a frog larger than a kangaroo! Love this furry little kanga-hopper and that stitched sun is just perfect!

Fantabulous card Darnell. This would certainly cheer anyone who only ages at a quarter of the speed as the rest of us. Love that super 'Roo... and it just reminded me I'v got a kangaroo cookie cutter - 'bout time I made some shortbreads xx

What a cute, cute, cute birthday card Auntie! I would have loved the frog, but Hammy does have a point about perspective, so the sun is much better. This card should put a smile on someone's face! Love it! Hugs, brenda
