A site for my handmade cards, accompanied by my photos and written meanderings which are occasionally witty, often tongue-in-cheek, and rarely profound. Beginning in June 2013, you'll also see lots of NBUS, which is an acronym I coined for Never-Before-Used-Schtuff. Note: my Privacy Policy can be found at a tab below and you can find my NBUS Challenge online. I hope you'll join in the fun there! Thanks for coming by! Have a beverage and enjoy!

REMINDER ~ NBUS Challenge #1 Ends Soon

Hello My Friends!

Thank you so much to everyone who has so enthusiastically supported my very first NBUS Challenge!! This note is to remind you that the challenge will be closing at 12 noon PDT on Friday, June 27, 2014. If you need a time zone converter for your time zone, you can find one here.

You are the BEST FRIENDS EVER! Your response has filled my heart to overflowing! I will post the winners at 12 noon PDT on Sunday, June 29, 2014

I had no idea when I jokingly made up NBUS that it would actually become well-known in this acronym-filled Blogland stamping community! During this challenge, I realized that there are three other four-letter words you can make from these letters:

SNUB = schtuff never used before.
BUNS = before-used-never schtuff. (Wait. What?!)
NUBS = never used before schtuff.

Had I know it would take off, I think I would have chosen NUBS which works and is a cute word. Then again, knowing how I get myself into trouble with words sometimes, the word nubs is prolly a slang expression in some countries for a part of the human or aminal anatomy!

So NBUS it is and NBUS it shall remain! I hope you get a chance to join the challenge, if you haven't already!

Mwah!

Thanks for giving us all such a fun daily read with your blog! I love starting my morning off with a good chuckle, and I always find one here
I love this friendship card, with the "S" on the bottom. It reminds me of that old sign that said THINK AH..(ead hanging off the side of the page) LOL

I am not surprised your wonderful NBUS challenge has been so popular. I have placed your banner in my side bar to spread the word. I am so pleased that it matches my blog colour scheme so well!

Cute card Darnell. Looks like something I would do. Finish the card and realize I forgot the "s" then just tack it in somewhere. LOL. Of course I would hope no one noticed. Fat chance. LOL.I like it.

Great card, I keep meaning to try that diecut technique.

Love your thinking behind NBUS ... I googled NUBS out of curiosity and in the slang dictionary a nub is "one who sucks at a particular video game, they are not new to the game, but possess some determent that prevents them from playing well, no matter how long they practice playing the game. "
Could have been worse LOL

You always bring a smile my dear! I like NBUS. I think of it in my head when I start to create as getting on the "new" bus and enjoying the ride....even if some of my new but never used stuff is actually quite old! It is still always exciting to use it for the first time! Lol! :). So happy you started this challenge! What fun!

Hi Darnell, just wondered how you were so popped over to see what you are up to.
I can see you have been and will be very busy with your new venture. I have missed the first challenge but will be back to see the next one. This is a great idea, like most other people who have joined in here I have lots of stuff that needs using so this will be an excuse to do something with it.
Good luck with the challenge (though you wont need it because it's obvious it going really well).
Happy crafting, Angela x

My hubby reads my blog so I've decided that maybe I need to stop mentioning that something is never before used (before used never stuff!) least he think I HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF and DON'T NEED MORE. I particularly think it is in bad form to mention the YEARS it has been in my stash unused. Perhaps another code word beyond NBUS is needed in my case. "From the Jurassic Era" or some such something..... My company just came out with a new catalog and I was ogling over the new stuff but the reality is I have stuff that was carried over from last catalog that has never seen ink. Quite a bit of it actually. Whoops.
