Spring Rain and Shamrocks ~ NBUS #114

Hello on this Sunday Funday!

I am here with part two of yesterday's post. I hope you had a lovely sleep in between. Sometimes Blogger doesn't publish to my subscribers until 24 hours later, so maybe some of you will get two in one day. The other day one of my posts never reached my subscribers. Never mind, enough of them do!

My card today was also the result of watercoloring efforts for Virginia's View Challenge which I'm entering again.
Display Our Blog Badge!

~~~
I am also entering my card in another BRAND NEW challenge started by incredible card artists that you are all prolly familiar with. The challenge is called Time Out Challenge.
Grab Our Badge!
The brief for the first challenge is:
This fortnight we want you to be...
Inspired by words:
This is the challenge where we give you a quote, a popular saying or inspirational sentence to inspire you to create. And this week we have this very popular saying for you:
Dancing in the Rain
~~~

And if you look closely at my card closeup below, you will see that I hand drew two little 4-leaf clovers for you because tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and there is a Happy St. Patrick's day sediment on the inside. It also happens to work for the newest challenge from Addicted to CAS:
Where I come from four-leaf clovers represent good luck!!

~~~
I hope you will have some time to join in and support the challenges that I give you links for! The Design Teams work very, very hard to bring us these ideas to spark your own creativity and they provide all of us with amazing works of inspiration, as well! Just click on any of the links to find information regarding the rules, sponsors, and prizes.
~~~

And so, my card:
The image was watercolored using my SU watercolor pencils and Koss watercolor chalk with an aqua brush. It is much more subtle than the spritzing and splatting that results from using the acrylic block.

The "Toadstool" is a NBUS stamp by Purple Onion Designs (Stacey Yacula) and the sediment is from a NBUS set I got at the Expo called "Umbrella4you" by Stamps for Life. The "Raindrops" are by Designs by Ryn. The waters splats on the toadstool are from a NBUS set called "Splat That" by Waltzingmouse Stamps. Wink of Stella was applied liberally.
That took care of using up three more NBUS stamps and I love that SEVEN different company products were used in this simple one-layer card!

I made you a St. Patrick's Day card a few days ago for a challenge and I told you about the time I was driving around in my unnerwear ... well, my little friend PJ of Blog This! could not believe that I hadn't made a card with another well-known Irish blessing having to do with frogs and unnerpants to punctuate that story! I totally agree. Wazzup with that?! I have no scuse zept for I'm like gettin' old!

So, thanks to PJ looking out for me, I'm happy to leave you today with this sweet Irish blessing to wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day tomorrow, whether you're Irish or not!

Irish Blessing-may you never find frogs in your underpants! Lol!

Great sentiment for Paddy's Day.......happiness to everyone who celebrates it. I've often wondered why blogger doesn't send me stuff until a day after posting.....not good eh? See you soon (wink, wink!!!)

I love the sentiment on your card. It used to be on my FB page until they put so much other stuff on there it disappeared. Anyway, it looks great with your toadstool and little shamrocks and those wonderful raindrops. I LOVE that stamp. The frog poem is a hoot and would have been perfect with the story.

Hi Darnell, Love the cards - and thanks so much for taking the time to visit and comment on my blog. Today was corned beef and cabbage and some family day -- hope you had a nice family day too.

What an adorable card! Love that saying, too! Good for you to be able to use three NBUSs!
Btw, I first read that you had hand "drilled" the four leaf clovers and looked really closely wondering how you did that! Then I went back and read more carefully... Guess I shouldn't have had all this Guiness before wandering through blogland - it's not even St. Patrick's Day yet! ;)

Oh, OH I get a gold star! I noticed the Ryn stamp RIGHT off! Had a laugh at you calling her PJ, I do too! She's a PJ kinda person, yes? So funny. Ya'll related! Thx too, for the NC link. Gotta be a neighbor. Now onto the card: That's a new product to me (Koss chalk). I know Pebbles & a few others. You done real good with that 'shroom. I like it - lots! Never heard that Irish lyric either. Will have to copy & paste that'n for next year. Oh what a bright spot you were to a very dreary, rainy day. A lovely way to end my Sunday pc time. Well, right after I go look at a few more posties. Hugs, Blessings & TFS.

Peek-a-boo from Ms. Lexi!!! :)

Darnell, I seriously love this card - the splats are perfection and the Wink of Stella adds such dramatic flair and makes the raindrops look so real. I have yet to order some winks for myself - too many other things on my crafty list. Heck, I haven't even really shopped for stampy stuff in awhile so I need to rectify this ASAP with some winks. ;)
