A site for my handmade cards, accompanied by my photos and written meanderings which are occasionally witty, often tongue-in-cheek, and rarely profound. Beginning in June 2013, you'll also see lots of NBUS, which is an acronym I coined for Never-Before-Used-Schtuff. Note: my Privacy Policy can be found at a tab below and you can find my NBUS Challenge online. I hope you'll join in the fun there! Thanks for coming by! Have a beverage and enjoy!

Your Inner Babe ~ LIM #130; PSCAS; NBUS #31; SSSWC

Aby we're bacj ariybd ti /frudat ~ wgiisg/1

Do you ever type a whole line before you realize your fingers have moved over and are on the wrong keys?  The only time I think it is at all amuzing is when I do it with my own name.  It then becomes Darbekk.  When I was in middle school my girlfriend Glenda and I would write letters to each other in cursive backwards.  Anyone else ever do that?  For the longest time we still called each other Llenrad and Adnelg.
Yes, that's right I found a playmate from my very same home planet!  Small universe!!
I have had very little crafting time this week, but I was NOT going to miss out on this week's Less Is More, "Pinterest Picture Inspired" challenge, hosted by the sensational Chrissie and Jen.  You may have seen this photo popping up all over Bloggerville.

Oh, yeah, baby.  As much as I love them, am I ever glad I am too old for these teetering tootsie breakers.  My beloved niece is about to enter medical school.  Auntie Me suggested that she consider a career in podiatry!  I'm just sayin'.
The doors are about to close on this challenge and there have been some smashing entries.  I took a look around my stamps and came up with this delightful stamp from "Stamps by Judith."  As soon as I saw her baking up a storm in her well-worn high heels, I knew she was going to be the star of my card:

I typed up my sediment in Word, capturing the photo from the LIM challenge, and printed it. I then stamped my lady and covered my sediment with my NBUS for today:  the conversation bubble from Paper Smooches "He Said, She Said."  To finish off my card, I added some score lines, giving grandma a double Aunt Andre.
Paper Smooches is having an "Anything Goes" challenge this week, so I'm also entering my card there.
A sweet friend just told me that the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is also "Anything Goes," so I'll pop in there as well.

Wow, I don't recall ever seeing anyone actually use a photo from a photo challenge in their card! And now that I see your card, I think, "why didn't I think of that?" Can't argue with using the exact image, right?

Hi Darnell,
This is sooo funny - I love it!! Great take on this week's challenge.
It's usually my texts that come out as a load of garbage. All I get back from the person I've sent it to is .... ???????? That's when I go back and actually read what I've sent.
Thanks for all your lovely comments recently. Stephen and I had a fabulous anniversary - celebrations are still going on. I think we'll have an anniversary year.
Have a lovely weekend. Crafty hugs ...... Linda (aka Adnil)xxxx

Great card Darnell, so funny, yet so true for me. And as for keyboard trouble, more than once I've told my DH I live him! Which is kind of true I guess.

Love your card! Had to smile at those shoes as I sit here recovering from a broken ankle! Never again, my friend! I'm all flats from here on out.

LOLOL....as I turned 32 with 20 years experience yesterday, that card applies to me utterly!! I'm still a siren.......cough....

The backward writing reminds me of Dylan Thomas who named his fictional Welsh town Llareggub...enough said!!

OMG this is one funny fabulous card! You have the greatest ability to think way out of the box when creating your cards!
I have a friend who can write any sentence in backward cursive handwriting as fluidly as we can write in normal fashion! It cracks me up every time I see her do it too!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Your card today is just brilliant Darnell - it made me laugh so much. I would love to wear those 'killer' heels but alas too old and doddery! Great suggestion for your niece to take up podiatry.

In school we did something called 'pig latin' where you take the first letter of every word, add it it the end of the word and add an 'a' - it was great fun but I like yours better. Love and hugs, einnA xx
