Fusion #2 and WOYWW #202

On the crest of the wave of another week, Hello!

And the crest of the wave of the week (once more, with crackers) can only mean it's time for another episode of What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday (WOYWW).  Today is the two hunnert second episode and this popular program is still brought to you by the currently-invisible Mrs. Julia Dunnit!  Tune in, won't you?  The home office site will provide you with rules and a hop number.

My desk:

I know you've seen it once or twice before, but guess what?  I've been making cards!  I think it's all pretty self-esplanetary.  There are lots of cards being readied for mail and new cards being made for blog challenges and then put in the Q for later mailing.

The one I'm highlighting today isn't even in the picture for the raisin being that I made it afterwards and very quickly because the gates are closing at the second installment of the funtastic Fusion Card Challenge, to wit:
For me, it is so much fun to have both the sketch challenge and the color challenge together in the same room, it's almost impossible not to fuse the two!  I definitely followed the sketch on the one hand and the colors on the other, but I szhuzzed up the patterns for a little change of pace from chevrons which I've used a lot lately.

I have a little container of cute buttons in various shapes that I've picked up over the years.  I have so many that I actually bought a shank-offener gadget.  I know I'm indecent.  But it was nice to easily be able to pop the shanks off so's I could use them on cards in keeping with my effort to stop hoarding my stuff.  My lime green and gray card was anointed with a stinkin' cute froglet.

I know him should be facing the other way, but I love him anyway.  He can't help it if he was made left-facing.

~~~
When you are hopping around on WOYWW today, it would be a treat for you to include a hop stop at the home of our newest friend, Michele of Michele's Scrappin' Memories and More!  Michele has a TON of wonderful inspiration waiting for you!  Welcome, Michele, and thank you for joining us!
~~~

Enjoy your day!  No, seriously, enjoy your day!  LITS*!

Thank you so much for stopping by the Playhouse. Special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment or join as a follower!  Let me know especially if you stopped in on the WOYWW hop.  I'm experiencing a cluster of migraines lately, so it might take me extra long to get around, but I'll be sure and return the flavor essentially!

Darnell!! What's with you? Your desk is verging on messy today :)

I totally adore your froggie card, he looks ready to hop off the page and play. And you have a button shank remover, am I missing something? I have a small pair of wire clippers - pinched from Len - don't tell me I've been risking a good telling off!

Happy WOYWW!

You're going to have to do a show-and-tell on that shank-remover! I've often looked at cute buttons and thought I couldn't use them because of the sticky-out back on them. Such a cute frog, so glad he was placed on the card, right- or left-facing! ;-)

Love your greens! And Mr. Ribbit is so sweet. He just pops against that bit o' gray circle. Lovin' the roundy corners. So sorry about your migraines. I've been free of them for 5 days now. But the weather turns later today so I expect to be hit again too. Drink lots of water. Prayin' for your head honey-girl. Bev

Wow, you are very brave to show off your desk! My mess has crept right off the desk and into the living room to join me while watching The Voice/American Idol! Oy, vey! Will have to spend an hour or more cleaning that up this weekend before starting all over again!

The cute little froggy is the perfect accent to set off some limey goodness!

Finger crossed your migraine lessens up a wee bit. I used to get them too...7 or 8 or9 days...ugggh

Mine must have been hormonal related cuz no moremigraines since the change of life...Yay!

Cold room, windows open to chill the sheets, silence, no light, ice pack on neck...those were some of the things I tried...If all else failed, then a hot pack on neck and shoulders...I'm sure you have tried them though...

Love the card...he really is a sassy little guy! Love the colours and the design papers you chose!

Love the patterns, love the frog ... sweet enough for any princess, whichever way he's facing! Hope you're soon feeling much better. Anita :)

LOL I'm glad that I'm not alone in the messy desk area! I clean up and before I know it, I have it messed up once again. I love your card, so cute-I love the simplicity of it-they always catch my eye first and I love the different patterns of ribbon and paper! That little frog is way to cute!! The green and grey color combo is fabulous together! Now do you like your shank tool??? I've been thinking about one of those too, but just wasn't sure if it would have been a "em-pause" buy. lol So I've been refraining.

Those are great colors on a fun card. My son used to love frogs, and we spent many a happy time catching frogs at the pond. He used to turn them over and rub their bellies and hypnotize them and they would lay still in his hand. Barb 132

So sorry you have been dealing with migraines. Not fun! :-S

Your desk looks great - wish my desk looked USED like that. I could sure use some crafty time...

Anyway, your card is so, so adorable. I love how you mixed it up with the patterns but still kept the feel of the photo. Great interpretation of the sketch, too. Thanks so much for joining us again at the Fusion challenge! ;-)

Hope your noggin feels better soon.

Shank remover? It's not just a wire cutters?
Please get better and share your info.

Geri said...

Absolutely love your wee froggie - regardless which way he is pointing (perhaps he is on guard duty and watching the rear!)

Of course, the stripes, gingham and polka dots are divine...but best of all is the sweet little sentiment, sitting so nice and perty on that polky dot stipe!

Bummer about your migraines! Will tell you a story one day about a very unconventional possible fix!

Tertia said...

A tool I don't have? That simply will not do, where do I get one?
Love the card, I stink at following orders, so I have given up on challenges.

Aw, look how late I'm running this week! But that frog card is seriously too cute. Seriously. ;) And where did you get a shank-offener thingy? I was thinking I needed something like that just last week, only I didn't even know they made such a thing! I've been taking them off the hard way and then having to file 'em down. Which you can imagine is way too much work soooo...yah, lotsa buttons going unused. Anyhoo, thanks for popping by my desk and checking out my bazillion cards this week. :) Deeyll #139
