FMS #82; ATSM #41 ~ A Cuddly Card

How Dee!
Last week I had a couple of spools of ribbon out on my desk for why I can't remember, but I happened to notice how pretty they were together.  They are quilty ruffly ribbons from SU! in Baja Breeze and Pear Pizzazz.  They have been sitting there waiting, every day since, which activity I don't normally allow.  My MO is that if you aren't being used, you go back where you belong, you don't just get to sit there and be in the way.
Yikes, that makes me sound really mean, but I'm knot, I'm just too simple-minded to work in Chaos.  I applied for a position there once and the HR lady just threw back her head and laughed out loud.  I thought it was rude.
But I divest.  So finally I said, okay, c'mere, let's see what we can do.

Turns out they look cute lined up or twisted or tied ... so I went in search of a challenge for them to enter and I found two.
Over at Freshly Made Sketches, the sketch this week is by the terrific Jen Temko:

Oh, so many cards you can make with this fun sketch!
And over at Addicted to Stamps and More, the challenge is "Anything Goes!"  We all love that!   It is my first time playing with this amazing group and about time!  They are sponsored by the awesome:
Both of these fun challenges have a couple days left, so I hope you can join in the fun!!
I made this:
It's another three-ingredient card with no stamping!  Ribbon, shiny paper from DCWV, and an embellie from K & Company.  Oh, wait, four ingredients if you count the white PTI card base.  I simply laid out the strips of ribbon over some Aileen's Tacky Glue, cut off the bottom, covered the top and bottom with the strip of paper and popped on that beautiful sediment.  "Live Life."  Amen.
It's really shiny and cuddly IRL.  I hope you are having a shiny and cuddly day IRL!
I'm off to help Mister with some yard work and then after we hose off and clean up real good, we are going over to take the twins out to dinner and, maybe, if their Mom and Dad behave, we'll let them come along!
~~~
I'm excited to welcome Nonni as a new friend today!  Nonni comes to us from her sensational site Runaway Cards where you will find lots of inspiration.  Thank you, Nonni, for joining us!
~~~

Enjoy your day!  No, seriously, enjoy your day.  LITS*!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Playhouse. Special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment or join as a follower!

This is so pretty. Those ribbons make it look kind of woven. I am impressed that you would even think of using so much ribbon on one card--I am too much of a hoarder.

Hi Dolly. Fabulous ribbon treatment. Love those colors together. Great take on the sketch as well. And your beautiful and glittery flower just tops everything off. Great job. Thanks so much for joining us at Addicted to Stamps & More - Anything Goes!! Lolly xx

I so want to reach out and rub your card!! Good for you for using the ribbon too ... these are the types of things that I tend to hoard. What a lovely way you put it all together. Hiding the ends under the paper is so smart : )

Carol L said...

Way to use that ribbon in a unique and special way! I like those color mates too! Very pretty card!

Kylie said...

Well! Aren't you sooooo clever! I have a couple of those ribbons and I find them really hard to work with. I think it is the user though, not the ribbon ;). How you have combined them on this card is genius, Darnell. I really, really, really like it! Great job. Thanks so much for playing along at ATSM! xx

Beautiful card, so tactile. I love how you've reversed the direction of the ribbon with the alternate colours, it gives it so much texture. And I love the colour combo.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. One of my favourite colour combos after pink+pink of course. Hugs Mrs a.

Oh my...it really is cuddly and cozy!!! The shiny satin reminds me of a soft blanket with the satin edging. Love the sparkle and the bling! Awesome job getting the ribbon rows so PERFECTLY straight!!!
