Simon's and WOYWW (#196) ~ A Year of Weeks

Hey, Hey, Hey, it's Wednesday!

It's time for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday (WOYWW), where you post a picture of your desk or other craft area and share it with the world on a hop run by our beloved leader, Julia.  She has a "what's it" for you to click on over at her place which asplains it a whole lot better than I can.

A couple of days ago I was searching for something I knew I had put on a WOYWW post and I noticed that I had written 51 posts dedicated to WOYWW on the ol' bloggarino, so this is my 52nd weeks' worth, nonconsequential, but almost.  I got my start here and I'm a happy "regular" now, even though there are many who have been posting for close to FOUR years!!  That's 208 whole weeks, which pales my comparison!

Here's my desk.  I have a wee bit of a mess from cards I made and posted earlier this week.

I have a busy couple of days ahead of me.  I'm leaving on Sunday to go and visit one of my sisters who lives halfway across the country.  Her husband died two years ago and just this past Valentine's Day another sister's husband died, so the two sisters are going to move in together.  Before that can happen, one of their homes has to be sold, so I'm going to go and help stage the home for sale.  I would appreciate your positive vibes and prayers for a smooth transition for my sisters so they can begin their new journey together sooner, rather than later.

~~~
Happy Mothering Day!
I just read on another blog that Sunday is Mother's Day in the UK.  We don't have ours in the States until May 12th.  I love that in the UK it is called "Mothering Day."  I mean, seriously, I love that.  Who couldn't use some mothering?  It's a sweet and nurturing way to say it.  For those of you that only visit me on the WOYWW tours, I will take this opportunity to wish you a very happy Mothering Day!!  Since I didn't know in time to par avion a card to you, here is my cyber card in your honor, which I'm entering in the "Anything Goes" challenge at Simon Says Stamp:
So, okay, it's all about friends, not mothers, and it's a little brighter than a normal MD card, but I hope you like it.  I got the idea to try my hand at making this card from my friend Di's beautiful card over at Pixie's.  It's a twist on the triple layer technique ~ there's no stamping!
I thought you might wonder about that George S. flower so I took a pic of the packaging:
Aren't they so pretty?
I backed my packaged flower with a fussy-cut flower from a piece of Papertrey designer paper and a punched flower in a solid color behind that.
So it's double tripling.  You see what I'm saying?  A triple layer and a triple flower.  Can you match my double triple triple and raise me a single double?  Where's the drinks trolley?
~~~

I hope you'll let me know you stopped by so I can return the flavor.  I'll miss you next week!  Enjoy your day and your WOYWW tour!  No, seriously, enjoy!   Life is too short!

I hope going halfway across the country doesn't put you in bad weather. I'm sure your sisters appreciate your help and support. We had two sisters in our condo this winter who both recently lost their husbands, and they were having a ball, exploring the area and doing things together. Prayers for safe travel for you and a quick sale and happy life for your sisters.

Hi Darnell is that your desk in a mess or am I on the wrong blog? One whole year on WOYWW bottoms up as we say when things deserve a celebration with a tipple, or is that a triple double:) Hope you get the house sorted and sending best wishes to your sisters. Hugs Mo#41

Hi Darnell, I am late and have not joined in again (Builders - cut internet connection - no contact with the outside world for 2 days!). Love your Mother's Day card, the flower is stunning.

Sending much love and hugs to your Sisters, how wonderful that they are going to live together, such a sensible idea. Wishing them all the very best....

Well done on 52 weeks of WOYWW, that is where I met you about that number of weeks ago.. so glad I did! Hugs, Annie xx

Woo look at your desk! Even your pens are sorted by colour, girl you need to get out more, that trip to the midwest will do you the power of good, hope it all goes well. Love your card too, in England we call that day Mothering Sunday, as Mother's Days is always on a Sunday! And no, you're wrong, it's not the lack of knitting on my desk!! I don't always have knitting out anyway, but there was always something else going on... more of a theme than a "thing" I suppose!!

Glad you liked the card!

Hugs
Brenda

I hit post too quick!! I checked, I've done 147 WOYWWs, even I was surprised at that! And no snow here either, it clipped SW Michigan but not SE Michigan, in fact, we were sunny and above freezing yesterday while Chicago was being buried in snow!

WOW! That's definitely the result of some creating madness :) It does sound like a busy time ahead of you - how wonderful that you can go & help. And although the circumstances bringing them together aren't positive, it sounds like your sisters are making the best of it. Have a good trip - and a safe one!

Beautiful card, Darnell, the flower and vibrant pink are perfect for a MD card IMHO!

We do two MDs in our house ... the UK one and the French one on 26 May, so twice the celebration for such a special person!

I'll keep you and your sisters in my prayers as they begin their new adventure together ... they're lucky to have you to help with the staging ... we've seen pictures of your lovely home!

Safe travelling ... Anita :)

I didn't know that about the UK but that is really a lovely name for a day. So sorry about your sisters husband, but how nice that they can face the future together. I do hope the home sells quickly. I'm sure you'll stage it beautifully and that will be a big help. Have a safe trip and we'll look forward to your return! Deeyll #68

And your MIothering Sunday card is so pretty...I'm finding it all hard this year though as its the first ever without my mum to send a card to....... I'm sad......
