RIC #31 Genny Loves Kate Spade!

Yo, it's a Saturday!

I'm so happy for those of you who work all week long and now get to spend some time snug in your craftroom!  Oh, wait, was that "MOOOMM!" I just heard?  You go ahead and take care of it.  We'll wait.

While we wait, you may be wondering why I'm here.  So many of you left me bonnie voyage messages.  (Thank you!)  I'm still leaving tomorrow (Sunday) as planned, it's just that my more recent posts made it sound like I wouldn't have time to talk to you again before I left.  Turns out I do.  I started to pack way too early and so now I'm all packed up with nowhere to go.  Not one to twiddle when my thumbs could be making cards, I'm making cards to pass the time today.

Okay, so last week I entered my first Runway Inspired challenge.  Turns out a lot of us are scared to death of that challenge.  Like the clothes, the cards are SO well-designed and intimidating.  But, you know what, go ahead, and make a card for it.  If I can do it, you can do it!  All the Designer Team members are so kind and friendly.

I suspect the same can be said of this week's designer, Kate Spade.  My DIL once gave me a Kate Spade black tote purse all covered in cherries.  She found it at a thrift store and it was adorable.  I carried that thing for ten years until I competently wore it out.  Everyone loved it.  Once at a bar someone accidentally dumped their entire beer into it.  No worries.  I took the purse home, gave it a bath, and carried it for three more years.  So I love her stuff and just had to play.

Here's the fun inspiration!

Now, maybe it's just me, but is that young lady ten feet tall?  Those legs go on for miles!  So what did I naturally think of?

A giraffe, naturally.  Inspired by the model's tee, I created a cyclops giraffe with yellow eye shadow, on trend, and up town.  Oh, snap.

I gotta say, I love Genny Giraffe rocking Kate Spade!

I am so delighted to introduce you to two more new friends this weekend!  Please help me welcome Sian Ridley of Handmade by Sian and Bobbi of Out of the Box with Bobbi.  You will totally love their work!  Thank you, ladies, and welcome!!

I thought you might also enjoy this artsy-fartsy picture I took of an escaping globule of Glossy Accents.

FYI, I am taking my laptop to my sister's so I can try and keep up with your posts.  I might even be able to do a post while she's at work, so I may pop in here next week.  You never know.

In any case, you make sure you have fun and enjoy the week ~ and remember LITS*!

Thank you so much for stopping by the Playhouse.  Special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment or join as a follower.  Mwah!  You're a doll!!
