Retrosketch Challenge #44 and CASology Cue #25 New Year! New Friends!

Goodday!

It's the second day of two thousand and thirteen, how are we doing on our new year's resolutions, hmmm?  I've done three things already:

1.  Wrote a list of goals and objections for 2013.

2.  Reviewed the definitions of objections and objectives.

3.  Objected to any list that didn't say "Craft Supply Wish List" on the top.

That was easy.

~~~
New Year!  New Friends!
During this past year of blogging, I've developed some really wonderful online friendships.  As a lot of us get to know each other, we sometimes find out where we live in the world and we discover that we live near each other!
That happened to me and Kim Heggins of Cupcakes, Cards and Kim and Harriet Skelly of Allycat Cards.  Both of these wonderfully talented stampers came over to the Playhouse today in person!  IRL!!
Kim Heggins ~ Harriet Skelly
Turns out we had one of those "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" small-world moments when Kim and Harriet discovered that they know some of the same people and their daughters attend the same college!
Thank you, Kim and Harriet, for driving out to see my Playhouse and oohing and aahing over all my little nooklets and cubbers.  It was so fun spending time with you and getting to know you better and I hope we can do it again soon!
~~~

Of course I wanted to make a card to commensurate the occasion, so I used one of my favorite sketch challenges, Retrosketches, for inspiration.  This sketch was designed by the uber-gifted Arielle, who recently had a birthday.  (I hope it was a great one, Arielle, and many more!!  The outside of my card represents your DT friendships and thanks to a head's up from them, I've stamped "Happy Birthday" on the inside in your honor!)

And yippee, there is a new fun cue card up at CASology!

Putting them together, I made this:

This image is thimbolic of great girlfriendships all over the world!

~~~
Which brings me to even more friends for you to meet!  Yes!  We are starting out the new year at the Playhouse welcoming four more new friends!  How cool is that?  Please go over and introduce yourselves to these immensely talented ladies, if you haven't met them already.
Thank you all SO much for joining our little party!!
There is much inspiration to be found in all of the above linkies today!  I hope you get a chance to check them all out.
~~~

Enjoy your day!  No, seriously, enjoy your day.

As always, thank you for stopping by to visit.  Special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower or leave a comment!

What a great card, Darnell! I love the colors and how you incorporated the word. I guess I better think about a word for 2013 as I haven't really sat down to think of a defining word yet. Looking forward to more of your "kreations" in 2013!

Now how cool is that, you had fellow bloggers in your playhouse?! What a hoot that must have been. And your card could not be more appropriate for the occasion!

What fun to meet your crafty friends IRL! And I love your resolutions. I have resolved to tear up my lists this year. So far, I've torn up my shopping list (and therefore forgot half of what I needed at the store) and my to-do list (which is why nothing is getting done around here). But at least I'm sticking with my resolution! Thanks for always making me smile when I read your blog posts!

Lucky ladies to get to meet finally & enjoy an afternoon crafting in your gorgeous playhouse. Bet you had so much fun. Wish I could have been a little bug on the wall, listening in to the conversations. Did you get a lot of cards made? If you're like MY group, we do more yakking than crafting! (we borrow a lot of supplies from each other too!). So happy ya'll got to meet in person, now you can plan 'searching expeditions' and have fun together. Lovely card too, BTW. TFS

How lovely to meet people Darnell, amazing that they live so close to you. I love my bloggy friends but will happily admit to being a bit of a loner in real life, I've always been happy with my own company and it never bothers me to be on my own (as in when Andrew went to England for a month). Sweet little card though, hope you made two, one for each of them!

Hugs
Brenda

PS. Happy 2013! I like your resolutions!!

Oh, you lucky, lucky ladies! That must have been absolutely amazing! I'm sure the girls were totally drooling over your wee hide-out. You really do have a magnetic personality - people are drawn to you like gin to tonic!

Love your card! Especially stamping the sentiment on the different ribbons that you used!

Happy New Year Dippy - hope it is a peaceful and happy one for you and the family.

I am SOOOO jealous of Kim and Harriet that they got to come over to your playhouse. It still looks so pristine. You'll be glad to hear that my new space is very nearly ready and most of my stuff has been moved in. Just waiting for Tony to do a few more things, waiting on my A1 plan chest to arrive and we should be moving my table in over the weekend.........yippee!!! Will post photos when it's all done.

Just love your card. That is the cutest image representing friendship and love the colours you've used.

Hugs.
