CAS(E) this Sketch #11 ~ Accent It!

Happy Monday!

It's a federal holiday in the U.S. today.  A holiday to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.  It's also the inauguration day for President Barack Obama's second term.

And in the Bay Area, a lot of people are starting the day with hangovers after celebrating the 49ers winning the playoff game yesterday!

Me, I'm dashing in and out today because it's a day off for Mister, who is helicoptering over my head because he wants to use this computer to scan some of our 5,000 old family photos.  Bless him, I'm outta here!  It's a mahoosive job and I'd rather be in Playhouse, making cards with you!

This week's fantastic CAS(E) this Sketch! (#11) has been designed by the Head Sketcher herself, Jackie Rockwell:

I took the sketch quite literally this time and made this:

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up just the word "laugh" from a Hero Arts cursive background stamp.  Simple dimple.

~~~
The reason I took this sketch literally is because I quite like this design.  I like it so much that a few years ago I used it as an accent on my bathroom floor when it was remodeled.
How bout that.  It is a small design feature that makes a big impact because it makes the tiny rooms look bigger.  I had similar accents put into Mister's bath.  His floor is marble so the accent is Greek, naturally.
BTW, IMHO, one of the secrets to a long marriage is separate bathrooms, if you can swing it.  In our house, we have two small bathrooms.  One became the girl's bathroom and the other became the boy's bathroom.  It's a blissful arrangement, lemma tell you!  There is such a thing as knowing too much about a person, their natural aromas, bits and pieces, and jams and jellies ~ if you know what I mean, and I think you do.
~~~

I'm pickled tink to welcome two more new friends today!  Let me introduce them to you, along with their websites:

Mags from Madcap Manor

You will thoroughly enjoy visiting these entertaining and inspiring ladies!  Welcome, and thank you so munch!!

~~~
Enjoy your day!   No, seriously, enjoy your day.   LITS*!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by to visit the Playhouse. Special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower or leave a comment!
Ah very COOL that you have the very same design in your bathroom! I love how you made the tiles on your card tiny and cut out a frame from the patterned paper! Glad you joined us Darnell! :)
Love that CAS card DJ, pretty colours an design. As always you make me laugh (bathroom story), but I did get to thinking if the Mister cleans his own bathroom out? Cause that'd be the downside to using two bathrooms, the cleaning of two bathrooms!
Hope your cold spell has passed, we're now looking at 1F tonight!
Hugs
Hi Darnell
That is a great card .. .. love the colour combo very much.
We have much the same task on our hands as Mr Mister does.
My late MIL used to take 1,000's of photographs and lots were turned into projector slides. So with our Christmas money we bought a little machine for converting the slides and photographs to computer files. A very time consuming and fiddly job .. .. but one that is throwing up some great pictures we had forgotten she took.
Then of course we will end up emailing the pictures to other interested parties no doubt LOL!!
This is a job that will take ages as we have suitcases full of projector slides and mountains of photographs! But Mr Heart can do that .. .. I have my own projects to keep me busy as I am sure you do!! LOL!!!
Hope you are having a good week.
Love Jules xx
Separate bathrooms are the bedrock to a happy family. I have one bathroom for the three boys/men and one for me. They NEVER use mine because I have a low-flow toilet that they clog. (I know...TMI!) Works out great!!
Love your use of the sketch!! I haven't seen anybody do a cut out for the little squares and it is marvelous!!
Separate bathrooms and separate bank accounts - that's the answer for us, anyway! Love your tile-inspired card - great rich colours! Thanks so much for playing along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch, Darnell!
Fabby card Darnell! And so true about the bathrooms, we even try to have one each on holiday - not always easy to find!
Eeek, long past midnight here so better hop into bed before I turn into a pumpkin!
Hugs, Di xx
Clean and classic card, Darnell! Bathroom too! I couldn't agree with you more about separate bathrooms. But having my own makes me squeamish when I have to go into his. I usually have cleaning products in hand!
Okay, first of all, you crack me up with your talk of girl's bathrooms and boy's bathrooms, and bits and pieces - too funny for words, yet so true!! LOL Second, how cool is it that you have the same pattern in your bathroom floor! Your take on the sketch is outstanding - I love literal! LOL Thanks so much for playing with us at CAS(E) This Sketch - we're so glad you did!
Great card AND bathroom...how neat that they both follow the sketch so nicely! And I totally agree...in our house, Mommy gets her own bathroom. I don't share well!!
