Dynamic Duos #6 ~ Regal Rose and Basic Gray

Magnificent Monday!

I am playing today with The Dynamic Duos challenge.  I'm really drawn to this challenge with only two colors (besides neutrals).  Not that it isn't fun to participate in other color challenges with four, five, six collars.  It's just that I also like the serenity and simplicity of working with two.  Collars?  That would certainly get hot around the neck.  I'm pretty sure that word is supposed to be colors.

Here is this week's Dynamic Duos graphic with the chosen colors:

I went Old School with my card and designed it in the style we used before cutting everything out with dies became The Modern Way.  I love the soft colors and hope-filled sentiment.

I popped the Butter Fly onto basic gray cardstock and then cut around her for the shadow. Like so many characters in my yard, I see she has had an incident.  Whatever shenanigans she got herself into resulted in the loss of some of her wing bling on the left side.  These things happen.

Check out the above link for this fab challenge and join in the fun!  The DT cards are a maze zing!!

I hope you all have a great Monday!  I'm off to have lunch with two very dear friends.  I worked for a couple of years recently with Laura and in chatting one day, we discovered we both knew and worked with Verna in the past.  Small world!  I worked in the same office with Verna 34 years ago; my first job after taking time off for the baby.  Then Laura worked with her 20 years after that!

Laura is younger than I, Verna is older.  (The delightful and inspirational Verna, at 88, is STILL working!  I know, shut up!  And she's a kick in the pants to boot!  My hero.)  The three of us, three generations, represent a found family and we try to get together for lunch several times a year.  I imagine that you, too, have a cherished chapter like this in the story of your life.

Please enjoy ~ and, as always, thank you for stopping by to visit.   Special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower or leave a comment!

Great use of these colors, Darnell! Hope you had a great lunch. When are you going to write your book?

I love the clean design of your card. Don't you hate it, when a card manages to lose bling from completion to photo op! Of course, I never notice when I am taking the pic....it is only when I load to my blog post....at that point I am not starting over! Thanks so much for playing with us at Dynamic Duos. (Any sight of Lizzie?)

I love "old school" It's tried and true (and a lot cheaper too)! That sentiment is a wonderful encouragement. Hope you enjoyed your lunch, Darnell!

Hi Darnell, your pink & grey creation is beautiful, love the matting for your butterfly, the flower images are beautiful !

Now about your comments on my blog, you have to stop making me smile so much :) joking of coarse, I love your sense of humour. NO we don't have a staff to look after our gardens (at our home), it's just the two of us when we find time... we have many more that are not in the photos, I was a crazy lady 10 years ago when I insisted we dig up an acre of property to create gardens...... what was I thinking ? I forgot that I would get older :) ps.. still jeoulous of your playhouse, it's fabulous !!!!

That glittery, dimensional butterfly really packs a punch, and I adore your grid design here!

I thought your butterfly was just asymmetrically artistic! Such pretty colours!

This is a lovely card, Darnell. I've also been drawn to the dynamic duos challenge. I like the simplicity of just two colors. Sometimes I can't wrap my mind around four or five, although I give it a try from time to time. :) Ann Y.

You know, "old school" is a tried and true way to go, Darnell! I also agree with Kara above...itis way less expensive, too. Haha! I especially love all of the added details on your little butterfly. SO pretty! Thanks so much for joining us this week at Dynamic Duos! :)
